There’s always that moment before every big event. The moment where nerves claw up your throat, the last pounding moment before you walk up the stage, the last crucial moment before you present your presentation, the moment where everything that can happen wrong run through your mind as you wait for the inevitable, until you face it and you pray for all the Gods out there that everything might go your way

this is that moment

“Oh, hi dad” Dahyun said to the phone, an unsettling feeling dawning upon her

“Hey Darling”

“So what’s up?”

“So how are you?” Mr. Kim replied

“I’m doing good, working for Jeongyeon is going quite well”

“Um, I wanted to ask you if you want to come here for the weekend”

“Dad-”

“You can invite your friends, stay at the beach house it’ll be fun” Mr. Kim trying to convinced his daughter

“But I have work” Dayun reasoned

“I’ve talked to Jeongyeon’s Dad, and of course Jeongyeon, You three got friday and the weekends off, Mr. Yoo will take care of the Cafe alongside the other employees” Mr. Kim stated

“What about Tzuyu? We can’t leave her here” Dahyun tried

“Take her with you, along with Jihyo and Nayeon, and some other people too”

“They might be busy”

“Things can be arranged”

“Dad-”

“Look, Sweetie I want you to be here, especially since it’s your brother’s engagement party, I want you to be there for your brother, We, as a family needs to support him, and I thought that having your friends with you might convince you to go” Mr. Kim explained

“I- I’ll ask them” Dahyun said

“Thank you, sweetie, see you soon”

“Okay Dad, bye”

“I love you, Dahyun” Mr. Kim said dropping to a softer tone

“You too dad” Dahyun sigh ending the call

I guess there’s no avoiding home this time

Dahyun lay in bed worrying what the weekends will bring, mastering the art of avoidance has been her defense but now she faces what she feared most, head on and in a weekend of leisure, It’s more like punishment than relaxing But I guess there’s no avoiding itDahyun thought as she all her exhaustion from today’s events put her to sleep,there still the whole week before the event, That’s enough preparation I guess

“So, as per Dahyun’s Dad’s request, We three have no work this weekend” Jeongyeon said gesturing the three of them

“Have I told you I love your Dad?” Chaeyoung said to Dahyun beaming

“Yeah but no work means no pay” Jeongyeon said earning a pout from the Cub

“Anyways, why WE here?” Nayeon said gesturing to herself and Nayeon

“Don’t like hanging out with us?” Chaeyoung asked the older

“Well if hanging out with you guys means rubbing to our faces the fact that you have days off, then I’m not so sure” Nayeon replied rolling her eyes

“Dahyun, please enlighten us where we all fit in these?” Jihyo cut in, avoiding an argument that was most likely to erupt

“Yeah, so the reason WE, including you guys, are having time off is because my Dad wants us to stay at our beach house for the weekend, as you might know my brother engagement party is on the 7th so we’ll all go there by the 5th” Dahyun explained

“What do you mean we get time off?” Nayeon ask

“Well either you free your schedules on the 5th and 6th since 7th is a Sunday, OR my Dad will free it for you or in your case Jihyo unnie, my Dad will convince your Mom to” Dahyun stated

“Have I told you, I LOVE hanging out with you guys” Nayeon said to the two girls as she enveloped them in a hug

“Wow that a complete change from what you said earlier” Chaeyoung said to the Bunny who hugged her

“Shut it, just enjoy the hug: Nayeon said to the younger
