Jaehwan has been devotedly by Hakyeon's side ever since the latter stood up for him years ago. Admiration swiftly appeared and grew without a single waver, the warmth that radiated off of Hakyeon always found a way to comfort his soul, and at some point, Jaehwan found that friendship was no longer enough. But how can he level up his ‘best friend’ status when Hakyeon's ‘lifelong friend’ already beat him to it?

Hey, everyone! My second story on AFF~
This is a HaKen and NEO story (mainly because, as I was writing the description, the last line came out of nowhere and I was like “oooh~!”), and I must say, as I was writing the first chapter, and as I’m thinking of moments in the future, I’m loving both ships very much.
Is it odd for the writer to be conflicted? Hahaha~ Well, I hope I’m not just overreacting and that my readers end up loving both ships in this story as well.
I’m very much a dark writer, including drama and angst, but this is not that kind of story. I personally think I’m terrible at writing romance and generally happy-type stories (I overthink it and end up wondering if it’s too cheesy, resulting in the scenes becoming more neutral territory), but I’ve been inspired by the fics here, and I’m going to try to go outside of my box once again. This and T.E.X.T.U—NEO Version are seriously my “experiments” in other-genre-writing. I hope this doesn’t disappoint you too much.
The title and general concept are inspired by VIXX's “Take Your Hand” from the Man to Man OST. I really love that song and fell in love with VIXX's vocals all over again. I recommend listening to it as you're reading.

On a side note:
I am shocked by the lack of HaKen chaptered stories—let alone how many of them are completed. I know love/hate relationships are popular and all (I’m also a NEO and Navi shipper, and the fics here have made romantic-ChaSang grow on me; still getting used to NBin/ChaBin, but I do read it), but HaKen is just so cute—from 2012 to 2018! I’m going to be writing many different VIXX stories, but I’m hoping to write a good amount of chaptered HaKen stories because it really needs more love. With VIXX gaining more fans recently, I hope more people begin to write HaKen, too. After all, I’m a reader just like the rest of you. If you know any HaKen stories (one-shots and chaptered, though preferably the latter), let me know, okay?
