"Prison inmate, please state your name and age."   "Park Chanyeol, 26."   "I understand that you want to plead your innocence."   "I do."   "And I hope you understand the following; in order to convince me of your innocence, your words must remain substantial, concrete and unaltered. If at any moment your information seems to falter, I will not be obliged to fight your corner."   "I understand."   -   "26-year-old Park Chanyeol is to go on trial for the murder of Kim Seunghyun on the 21st November. Mr Kim was the renowned CEO of Kim Pharmaceuticals and was shot dead in his office just days after the accusations of his company selling out faulty medication to the general public."   "Park Chanyeol must be the one. He was fired by Kim the moment he found out about his twisted company secrets. It's the perfect motive."   "Chanyeol couldn't hurt a fly. Everyone always assumes the worst of him because of his appearance and quiet nature. He's innocent."   -   It was all over the TV, all over the radio, all over the newspapers and tabloids. This twisted case of conspiracy and murder was everywhere and Baekhyun couldn't escape it. Being the most sought after Lawyer in Seoul, Baekhyun was hardly surprised when Park Chanyeol's mother called upon him herself, pleading for him to represent her son in his court case. Of course, being professional, he couldn't decline the request under pure reasoning that it wouldn't be an easy battle to take part in. He had to accept, he had to listen to the woman sob over the phone, thanking him from the bottom of her heart. "I have faith that you'll save him," She uttered weakly and the words made Baekhyun's stomach twist. He did nothing more than bid her a good day before ending the call.   The horizon of his upcoming days only seemed to show up in a much more complicated light as he looked over the case files. It seemed Mr Park had good reason to resent his former boss. The latter had given Mr Park's mother medication for a virus she'd fallen under. The side effects of said medication ended up hospitalizing the woman and almost killing her. The extensive amount of imagery and CCTV showing Park Chanyeol at his former work building only fuelled the accusations of his involvement in the murder. Everything just fused together like the perfect jigsaw puzzle.   Baekhyun, however, couldn't just leave it at that. As a lawyer, it was his duty to defend a client whether the latter was blatantly a killer or not. It was his job, no matter how true or untrue it might be, to prove a client's innocence. Park Chanyeol needed him and so, he was obligated to give the man a chance. Only one.   -   October 23rd. Just two days after Baekhyun received the call from Mrs Park. It came around quickly, named as the day he would be meeting his client. His palms had been sweating the whole drive to Seoul State Prison, sticking to the steering wheel the entire time.
