At the Amusement Park (the last part of the seniors' field trip)

“We should go here!”

“Ani! We should go here!”

“But we already went there?!”

“But I want to go again…”

The girls kept on arguing while holding the map but with the exception of a particular girl who seems to be spacing out in her own world.

“What do you think Sica unnie?” Seohyun asked while the other girls looked at her expectantly.

Jessica Jung or Sica as what her close friends call her just stare at them blankly. Actually she has no idea what they were asking her.

“Aish” the girls started to groan. Being friends with Sica, they’ve been used to this Sica but still it can be annoying. They were about to say something about it but then they heard loud cheers and their attention (again with the exception of Sica) turned towards that direction.

“Ohh…seems interesting. Shall we check what happening over there?” They all agreed and began walking together but Sica stayed still… glued to where she was standing. Her friends called her which made Sica look at them.

“I’m tired. I’ll just sit here.”

“Unnie, there’s a café beside where we are going. You can just go there if you want.” Yoona suggested because she want to buy some snacks. The idea was supported by Sooyoung.

“Ani. It’s far. I’ll just stay there.” Sica said pointing at the empty bench behind her.

“Unnie, will you be okay? You can rest at the café.” Seohyun suggested.

“I’m fine besides there’s a vendo. So I’m good.” Lazy Sica replied and walked towards her destination.

Her friends knew that they couldn’t persuade the lazy girl. They also knew so well that Sica will not join them. They knew that Sica will go and look for a place to sleep. Probably she might return to the bus and sleep in which by the way was confirmed by Sica. “Yeah I might just go back to the bus and sleep.” With that her friends left her to check out what was happening from all that cheer and then probably go around the park.

Sica knew that her friends will drag her around to try all the rides. Don’t get it wrong. Sica loves going to the amusement park. She enjoys going with her friends and trying all the scary rides. She does not have to worry about the long lines because the other students would offer their seats to her and her friends. She would gladly accept the offer and she wouldn’t mind if others would make a fuss about it. It’s not like she asked to be first but it was offered to her. Sica does not mind about what others think about her. And honestly, she does not care about her image. She can be a total snob and be scary but still she is famous and has many fans. It can be confusing even for Sica. She does not get how she got many fans in school and even in other schools. She gave up on finding the answer. Yes, she enjoys the attention she gets but she only wants to get the attention of one particular person. And that particular person is hard to read. Sica sulks remembering she fails to get that particular person’s attention. When she does it was the wrong timing. Like she saw her looking at her when she was walking pass the long line and got an instant seat on the ride in which there were some complaints heard. Sica was embarrassed at that moment. She wanted to get down from the ride and explain herself to that particular person. She does not want that person to think bad of her. Again Sica sulk more thinking that she might have left a bad impression to her crush. She let out a sigh and looked ahead and there she saw Park Hyomin with her camera hang over her neck. She saw Park Hyomin took a picture of her. Sica stared blankly. She was on her own world.

Gosh… why am I seeing you all of a sudden. Are you for real? How I wish this was real. How I wish you are really standing there and taking a picture of me. All throughout this fieldtrip I never get to hang-out with you. You were always busy taking pictures of everyone. Do you know I was looking forward to having even just a moment with you? Well I did have a moment with you earlier in the bus. You talking to me. A smile crept on Sica’s face remembering how Hyomin stood up and asked her to sit beside Yuri. Sica pout a bit. I was expecting that you will ask me to sit beside you. But still I agreed because it was you who asked. And you said that you reserve it for me. Even though I knew it was a lie but still the thought of you reserving a seat for me is just… Again Sica smiled. She remembered that special moment when Hyomin almost fell on her. You almost fell for me. I mean fall on me. It was shocking but I enjoyed it. I enjoyed looking at your shocked expression. We had eye contact! And then how you are so embarrassed and so apologetic. So cute! It was a good thing that Hyoyeon took a picture of us. You know I had to bribe her to give it to me. Sica sighed again and looked ahead. Still the image of Hyomin with her camera is still in front of her. You’re still there? I must be going mad. The universe is playing tricks on me but I don’t mind.

Click.

Wait… click? Did I hear it right? Sica had this confuse face now.

Click.

Sica blinked once. Same image. Twice. Still the same image.

Hyomin peaked from her camera showing her smile.

What is happening?! Wait is this real? How long have been… wait… have been there all this time?

Hyomin giggled and walked towards Sica. “Annyeong!”

Sica couldn’t talk. She was so shock even her brain forgot to think.

“Mianhe I must be disturbing you.” Hyomin said when she didn’t get to hear a response at Sica. She knew any better than to disturb the Ice Princess.

Her eyes saw Hyomin about to leave and her brain processed it so instantly that her reflexes worked so fast that she stood up and almost shouted “Wait!”

Slightly taken aback by the sudden outburst, Hyomin did stopped and resumed her previous position.

Sica a bit calmed down, sat again and started asking, “How long have you been there?” Awhile? All this time?”

Hyomin didn’t know by what Sica meant by all this time but it has been awhile. But she does not want to sound like a creepy stalker or something. “A few minutes.”

Sica stared at her. “A few minutes?” Sica wanted to make sure that Hyomin wasn’t there that long to witness her. She was afraid that Hyomin might have heard her. Sica’s hands were starting to sweat at the thought that Hyomin might have heard her. She wasn’t even confident whether it was all in her mind or she said it outloud.

“I came here and saw you. I wanted to talk to you but it seem that you didn't want to be bothered. I mean I was looking for an opportunity to talk to you the whole time and when I saw you here alone I thought it was a great opportunity. But I thought you wanted to be alone but in the end I went to you to say hi. I greeted you but you didn’t seem to hear me or I thought you ignored me because you wanted to be alone. I was about to go but then I couldn’t help but take a picture of you. It was a great view. I thought I caught your attention because you looked at me when I took the picture. I thought you were going to scold me but then you started making those faces and I couldn’t help but take more pictures.” Hyomin blurted. She explained herself. She does not want Jessica to think of her as a creep or weird but… but Hyomin just wanted to facepalm herself. She was pabo. She just made a fool of herself. How can she redeem herself now. She wanted to talk to Sica to clear about the incident earlier in the bus but she never got the chance to talk to the girl. Now Sica was just staring at her. No Hyomin can confirm she’s on death sentence. And what she did just made the situation worse.

Or did she???

Well Sica was still processing what she heard. Don’t get the wrong idea. Sica heard everything loud and clear. She had also memorized it just in case she wanted to replay this event again. But it was all too much for her. And Hyomin standing there all too worried and confused was so cute to take in. Sica wanted to choose her words carefully. She does not want to scare the other girl. But she wanted to hug the other so badly. “You wanted to talk to me?” She asked in her famous poker face.

Hyomin scratched her non-itchy nape. “Neh. About the incident in the bus earlier.” She looked at Sica who nodded as if telling her to go on. Hyomin sat opposite Sica and took a deep breathe. She scolds herself not to blurt out everything and be normal. Hyomin being awkward to everyone, tends to blurt out everything. She tried explaining her herself but it only leads to making it worst which is why she often gets teased by her friends.

Sica sighed in relief knowing that she didn’t talk out loud. Nervous Hyomin is so cute. She enjoys it. She was glad that she didn’t join her friends. It was indeed a wise decision.

“Mianhe. I really wanted to apologize.” Hyomin said looking straight at Sica. She wanted Sica to know that she was sincere. Yuri kept on scolding her the whole trip. It was a good thing that she is in charge of taking photos because she had an excuse to get away from Yuri’s nagging. “It was an accident. I didn’t do it on purpose but I was also careless. I almost…” Hyomin stopped as the incident flashed before her... the incident where she almost kissed Sica. They were so close that in a different angle, it might have looked like they were kissing. Blushing so hard, Hyomin continued, “… hit you.”

“Hit me?” Sica repeated. She was somewhat teasing the tomato red girl. Sica finds Hyomin’s choice of words so cute and funny. Why was she avoiding the word kiss?

“Well, I almost fall on you and might have hurt you.” Hyomin managed to still avoid that word.

Sica finally decided to let it go (Hyomin avoiding the word kiss). “But you didn’t. No one got hurt so there is no need to apologize. It was an accident.”  Sica smiled.

Hyomin smiled too.

“I appreciate you trying to clear things up though it was unnecessary.”

“Well I was afraid that there might be rumors. I mean Hyoyeon said that there might be a few who saw it.”

“I haven’t heard about anything yet. And there are a lot of rumors around here and there. I just ignore them.” Sica reassured. Though she does not care if there rumor come out that she and Hyomin are dating. She kinda like that idea. Actually she was anticipating it. Sica couldn’t help but smile.

“You are doing it again.” Hyomin said feeling much more comfortable with Sica.

“Huh?”

“Making faces.”

 “Omo.” Sica got flustered all of a sudden. She is guilty of making those faces especially if she zoned out but zoning out in front of Hyomin is totally embarrassing. A realization came upon Sica. Again??? Wait has she been checking me out? Ani that is impossible. I heard that she was not interested at me. But… Omo… Don’t tell me???!!! Sica looked at Hyomin with a horror expression.

Hyomin chuckled and clicked her camera.

“Yah!” Sica smacked Hyomin’s arm lightly.

Hyomin giggled more having fun teasing Sica. “Wae? You don’t seem to mind it earlier.”

“Yah!” Sica said burying her face behind her hands.

“Don’t be shy. You look cute.” Hyomin said truthfully.

Sica peaked behind her hands. Did she just said I’m cute? Wait is she just saying that to make me feel better?

As if Hyomin has read her mind. “Neh. You are so cute that I couldn’t help but take pictures.”

“That’s invading privacy.” Sica sulked trying to hide her smile.

“Mianhe.” Hyomin said cutely. Not her intention to be cute but it came out that way.

Sica looked at her. “I want to see my pictures.”

Hyomin held to her precious camera. “Promise me that you would not throw my precious cam away or even break it.”

“I’m not that mean.”

“I know. But you wouldn’t delete the pictures?”

“I couldn’t promise that. It depends. It’s my picture anyway.”

“Point taken but please tell me first or handle it with care.”

“it’s not the first time I am holding a camera.”

“I know…but it’s my baby.”

Sica chuckled. “Don’t worry I won’t hurt your baby.” Hyomin gave her camera to Sica. Sica looked at it. “Omo! This is embarrassing!”

Afraid of Sica might do to her precious cam, Hyomin immediately stood up and sat beside Sica. “Ani, you look cute with that expression.”

Sica pout at Hyomin’s teasing but she couldn’t’ help but agree with the latter. She does look cute. “Neh I do.” Sica felt embarrassed saying it outloud.

Hyomin chuckled. They continued to look at Sica’s expression capture by Hyomin. They laugh and commented on the photos not minding their close proximity. They stopped at the last photo. It was the first photo of Sica that Hyomin took. The one Hyomin said earlier that she couldn’t help but take a picture.

“It was such a great view.” Hyomin said making Sica look at her. “I was debating whether I should take the photo or not but I am glad I did. You look beautiful. The scene, the background, everything in this photo is perfect. I’m sorry but the photographer in me couldn’t let it pass. And I’m glad I took it.” Hyomin confessed. She was indeed glad otherwise she would get a chance to apologize and talk to Jessica.

“I’m glad you did too.” Sica said. Realizing that their faces were so close, they are too close, it was like they were dating, Sica heart beats faster and louder not that it was even possible considering that it has been beating so loud and fast since Hyomin was there. Sica look back down in the camera trying to hide her blush. She was so sure that she was so red. So she continued to check the other pictures Hyomin took. But Sica was getting tired looking at her fellow seniors faces. Hyomin took pictures of other but not hers. “It’s unfair.” Sica said.

“Huh?”

Sica was about to say that there was no photo of her even her friends have some. But Sica realized that Hyomin just took lots of photos of her. Her brilliant mind managed to think of a good reason/ excuse. “You had pictures of us but not yours.”

“I’m the photographer.”

“Yeah that isn’t fair.”

“I’m not the only photographer though maybe I had a picture taken of me by the others as well.”

Not convinced, Sica took her phone and ready to take a picture of Hyomin but was stopped by the caera shy Hyomin. “Wae? You took pictures of me?”

“I said I’m sorry. You can delete them if you want.” Hyomin offered.

Sica smirked she knew that Hyomin didn’t mean that. “Don’t worry. My skills aren’t the same as yours but I’ll try to take good pictures of you.” Not that it will be hard anyway. You already look great.

Still being shy but Hyomin agreed. But Hyomin look awkward.  It was because Hyomin didn’t like the attention on her. Sica sat close to Hyomin and decided to take a selfie with her. “Is this better?”

Hyomin smiled and nodded. They took a few photos together even with Hyomin’s phone.

Suddenly, their phones rang.

“Sica come down here. Palli!” Fany exclaimed on the other line.

“Wae?” Sica asked not wanting to her moment with Hyomin to be ruined.

“Palli just come down here.” Taeyeon instructed. Sica can here that her other friends also told her to come down. She looked at Hyomin who just finished her phone call. Sica was curious who it was.

“It was Soyeon Unnie.” Hyomin said as if answering Sica question. “I have to go down. Seems like there was a happening and Sso unnie ask me to capture it.”

“Ahh… yes, my friends also told me to go there. Seems like such an important happening huh?” Sica said. She hated that such happening ruined her moment. Whoever in her schoolmate is responsible for this is going to get it from her. Probably it is just a proposal or some corny . In ther time Sica would be touch by these scenes but not when it ruin such a rare and precious moment with her crush.

They walked towards the place where the seniors gathered. They were guessing what it could be. Though they both knew that it could be a romantic proposal, still they threw out some bizarre guesses.

When they reach the place, Sso called Hyomin and instructed her to be ready.

Sica was welcomed by her friends. And the crowd just split up making way for Sica. Sica had a clue of what was happening. It can’t be. She looked around and she the crowd smiling at her as if they knew it already. She glanced at Hyomin who seems to have the idea as well. She couldn’t see Hyomin’s expression because it was hidden behind the camera. Still Sica kept looking asking for a confirmation (not that it is needed). Hyomin peaked from her camera and motioned Sica to look ahead. Relutantly, Sica look ahead and in front of her was a huge stuff bear. It was so cute! But Sica was beyond confused. The bear walked towards her which Sica finds really cute. The bear stopped in front of her and waved. Sica giggling waved back.

Yuri peaked behind. “You like it?”

Sica could only nod. She is used to getting presents and confessions. But now she wanted to be wrong. She wanted to deny the truth that is happening in front of her. No don’t confess to me. I already know that you have a crush on me. No, I know that you like me but please don’t confess to me. Please not in front of her. Not in front of Hyomin. Why here? Why now? Otoke? You are Hyomin’s friend. But I can’t be mean to you because Hyomin might hate me and I don’t want that. Not now that we finally talked and made progress. Please don’t confess to me. Sica could only beg quietly.

Yuri smiled and gave her the bear. “I won this for you.”

Sica saw Yuri all sweaty. She look gorgeous and hot. Sica can’t deny it but her heart is set for someone else even though that someone is witnessing this whole thing which only makes it harder for Sica.

“Accept it.” The crowd cheered. “She beat all the dancers in school.” “Yuri Unnie is the best!”

Sica look and she saw Hyoyeon. “Neh, she beat me as well. And Yoona and Jiyeon.”

Sica smiled. “Congratulations.”

This made Yuri smile. And pretty sure that a lot of girls fainted. It they haven’t fainted yet because of Yuri’s dancing. Or even if they just recovered from it, pretty sure they fainted again.

Sica saw Hyomin at the corner of her eye taking pictures. She wanted this to stop so her took the bear.

“Whew, I was nervous that you wouldn’t accept it.” Yuri asked.

“Why not? It’s cute.” Sica replied. At the corner of her eye, she saw Sso checking the pictures Hyomin just took. This made Sica sulk a bit because Hyomin only cared taking pictures and not her.  I hope you took great pictures Park Hyomin.
