No. 2
From Kaisoo Prompts!so this one is the 2nd prompt (this is non-verbatim because my careless forgot to jot down the exact prompt akdhdkdkkd): kaisoo's anniversary is on christmas but they broke up two months prior because of other priorities. They both went to their special place because to celebrate without knowing the other is planning the same thing
enjoy? :)
The breeze was cold, too cold for comfort yet Kyungsoo endured. He endured the fifteen-minute walk through the slippery sidewalks from his warm and cozy home to the café which he knew has been closed for some hours already. He could see the dimmed light from his phone, safely tucked away in his jacket pocket.
He knew he was being stupid. He could've just gone with his friends to celebrate Christmas together where they could share good food, laughs and gifts; fond memories that he could treasure for a long, long time.
But there he was, ignoring what could be Baekhyun's hundredth pleading message for him to come over. There he was, trudging a deserted path leading to where his past joyful memories have stemmed from.
Instead of moving forward and creating new ones, he opted to go back and relish on things that was once his until he let go.
If someone asked what made him decide to come to the café, Kyungsoo would tell them that he deserves to. He deserves to relive the happiness that once has been and bask in regret for letting that slip away from him for a measly reason.
Two months ago, he would've argued that nothing matter most but a secure future through a stable and high paying job. He has the chance, the oppurtunity to plant himself in the company and prove that he was worthy of his promotion. He was focused on that prize that he neglected what he could lose.
His two hands can only hold so much. Sadly, his work and Jongin are two things that are too big for him to hold tight to.
Was it worth it?
Conisdering practicality, the added zeroes on his paycheck is a good testament.
Considering his sanity, he realized he lost much more than what he gained.
Maybe he has gone crazy. When he hit the fifth day after his uneventful break up with Jongin, he has accpeted that he is miserable without his partner-in-crime. The days stretched and he cursed the day he thought that he would want longer days. Sure he was able to be more productive, having to focus only on thinking up strategies to win the deal.
But when Kyungsoo goes home with no texts asking how his day has been or has he eaten or simply ranting about how busy he is or just an 'i miss u :(' sitting on his inbox, his chest feels tighter than the previous day.
He has argued that it was the best for him and Jongin, breaking up. He knew that the other has been receiving more and more offers from magazines, left and right. There were times when Jongin would message him, telling him that he will be staying over his agency because of late pictorials, demanding clients and other reasons that led Kyungsoo to believe that Jongin shouldn't add thinking about him on top of his full plate.
