And that was what happened over the next year. Jiyong got the connections he wanted through that meeting, and he expanded his business to even enter into the American market. Sohee was proud of him, truly, and even let the slight grudge about the exhibit go - he had sent flowers and a huge banner delivered to the exhibit the first day, and that had certainly sweetened the pot. But now it was his work that was driving a rift between them.
His company had grown large and he worked all the time, long hours that would finally culminate him simply coming home to shower and sleep. There were so many business trips and long nights at the office that Sohee learned to fall asleep in a cold bed once more. She knew that Jiyong didn't want this distance, knew that he regretted it as much as she did, but there didn't seem to be a solution. To her dismay, the work even drew all the joy out of Jiyong that he had once had for fashion: now it was just something to slave over and he no longer gained anything but money from it. But oh, he gained money alright - more than they had ever thought his business would grow to.
