Because of the feelings that Sohee had for Jiyong, and the ones that she knew he had for her in return, she assumed that when she turned eighteen they would be together. And they probably would have been, except that Jiyong moved to Japan a year prior to work on his song-writing career. He still texted and emailed and occasionally called, but even those messages dwindled as he grew more bbusy with his life there. And to top it off, Sohee was in her final year of high school and working hard to come out with top grades.
She harbored ideas of moving to Japan too, maybe even seeing if he might want to get a place together - as friends, of course. Though if he was willing to commit to more then she was absolutely ready for that. Or so she thought, because very few eighteen year olds are absolutely ready to commit to anything.
Two months before she turned eighteen, she and her sometimes-friend-sometimes-rival Sunmi sat down to work on their homework. And oh, the other girl's eyes were gleaming with what Sohee knew was to be juicy gossip: Sunmi was always looking for the best secrets to spill. But her secret this day should never have been spoken.
"I think Jiyong is dating some model!" she exclaimed first thing.
By reeflex Sohee shushed her, looking around for the librarian, but inside her heart froze. 'Be careful, we can't get kicked out!"
