Description

For the first time in years, Jonghyun finally has a day off. Instead of spending it out, he wants some quality time with himself to ponder over his feelings and look back on his memories. He comes to the conclusion that he just wants to rest today.

[A/N]:

A humble tribute to Jonghyun.

I’m an extremely slow-paced person and it took me a few days to process the news. I’ve been a SHINee fan since the late 2000’s and even though I wasn’t following them diligently anymore (because life), they were still special to me as they were one of the first bands I ever listened to. It wasn’t until after his funeral that Jonghyun’s passing finally hit me. This is obviously so much harder on his family and friends so I hope everyone is doing well and taking care of themselves.

Some things are original, but I’ve also taken inspiration from his interviews and suicide note because I don’t know the stress and hardships idols have to overcome.

My intention is not to spark a discussion about his suicide, I simply want to write how I want to remember Jonghyun. A soft-spoken, gentle and kind person who did his best to live for others even when he was suffering.

Chapter 1: This was an excellent read (even though I found it to be somewhat sad).

I'm not a fan of SHINee but I was shocked when I read the news. I couldn't believe that someone so young (even though all idols go through the same thing as idols, not necessarily depression) had left the K-Pop world.

While reading this, I was thinking of when I watched them/him on SNL earlier and making other appearances. I thought of how he made everyone else laugh or smile while he was fighting his own personal demons on the inside.

I hope that the leaders of other groups told their fellow members to go to them for ANYTHING and that all of the members will help him/her. I also hope that, for the soloists, their managers said the same thing.

I also hope that, in his final moments, he thought of the times where he was happiest with his fellow members and that he did very well.

It's such a shame that it takes tragedies like this for some people to wake up and change how they live their lives or to appreciate the smaller things.

All in all, this was good.

Jong Hyun, you were excellent!
