Haewon and her friends are waiting in the line to buy some snacks for the movie. It’s half an hour before the movie starts so they decide to buy some foods before entering the theater. The line is quite long as it’s weekend so a lot of people go out to watch movies.

“She asks you personally, she must have seen something in you. Trust me with that,” Areum says to Haewon and the other nod their heads.

“But why me? You know I’m not really good at handling these kind of things,” Haewon mutters as she moves in the line.

“Oh, stop saying nonsense. You were our captain back in junior high.” Eunyoung nudges Haewon’s elbow, the girl only laughs. “Moving on, what foods do you guys want?” Haewon asks the others, “I want taco, extra cheese.” Jisoo says while reading the menu on the display. “I want the sweet and salty popcorn. Also a big cola,” Areum says too. “I don’t know what to choose…. Maybe fried squid and big cola,” Eunyoung says while reading the menu, a couple minutes after that they get to order their foods.

After they get their foods, they enter their cinema. It’s still ten minutes before the movie really starts so they checks their phone and settles down their sitting position. Haewon is well prepared, she brings a small blanket every time they go to watch a movie at the cinema. She folds her legs and then put the blanket on top of her legs and then put her popcorn between it.

“The queen of preparation, you never fail to amaze me.” Jisoo says as she looks at her right. “Backpack always come in handy,” Haewon points at her backpack and the latter laughs.

Haewon senses that someone is taking a seat beside her but she doesn’t bother to see because she’s busy checking her phone and is going to put it into a silent mode. But then someone taps her shoulder and she turns around.

“Hey,”

Haewon’s face lights up and then laughs, “Dude, are you stalking my seat?” she asks Sehun who just laughs at her question. “It’s just happen that you sit in where I think it’s the best position.” Sehun says, “Oh, hello you guys.” Haewon greets the other males who greet her and her friends too.

“Well prepared, I see.” Sehun notices the blanket and popcorn on Haewon’s lap. Haewon follows where his eyes travel and then just laughs, “You have to be well prepared in everything,” she says and he just shakes his head.

“Told you, you should be thankful to me.” Areum nudges her friend who just shakes her head, “Whatever you say Areum, whatever you say.” Haewon says and the movie starts. It’s a thriller-horror movie so Haewon couldn’t help but put the popcorn basket right in front of her face when she detects a jump scare coming right away.

Haewon might not notice it but Sehun keeps looking at her through his side eye, he can’t help but looking at her. Sehun can’t remember when was the last time he ever thinking about making a move to a girl or even interested in having something with a girl. Haewon sure changes his life. Mainly because the girl shares same hobby with him, sitting out from the crowd and enjoy their own me-time. There’s not a lot of girls that enjoys sitting alone, most of them would prefer being the center of attention or search for attention. But Haewon, she’s the center of attention and she doesn’t even realizes it. She’s different, he likes it. Or even maybe, he likes her.

“So, you’re staying with Haewon tonight?” Jisoo asks as they walk out of the mall together, “Yeah because the last time I was home when Eunwoo’s having a party, I ended up sleeping in the library because that’s the only place where the walls are sound proofed.” Eunyoung shakes her head as she recounts the event. “At least there’s some fun going in your house,” Areum mutters, they exits the mall and enters the subway station. “So, I think we’ll separate here. See you guys on Monday!” Areum and Jisoo walks to the other line.

Eunyoung and Haewon are waiting for the train while playing with their phone. Haewon finds a message from Sehun and she smiles, he asks whether she go back home right away or not. She replies his message and tells him that Eunyoung staying with her for the night. Then she decided to put up a new photo from her girls’ day out to Instagram. She then keep looking at her timeline, scrolling and giving likes to the photos she sees.

“This dude is not bad at all,” Eunyoung says while scrolling down her Instagram timeline, “What dude? Which dude are you talking about?” Haewon asks her as the latte shows her phone to her. “This dude,” Eunyoung says as she shows Sehun’s Instagram, “It’s been a while since I saw you with some guy,” Eunyoung adds and Haewon shoots her a ‘that-talk-again-?’ look. Eunyoung locks her phone and put it in her pocket as their train arrived.

“Oh, come on. You know that’s true. It’s been two years since Jaehyun’s case.” Haewon laughs at Euunyoung’s words. “Case? Yeah, whatever. I’m over him the moment he dates Siyeon!” Haewon exclaims as they enters the train. There’s a lot of people but the two of them manage to get a seat near the exit door.

“Oh yeah, you over him. So, mind telling me how the hell did you skip the after game party?”

Eunyoung says casually although Haewon clearly throws her a glare. The said suspect just smiles at her, “So, your point is?” Haewon raises her eyebrows at the other girl.

“It’s been a while, I think you need to give Sehun chance. From my point of view, you guys share the same hobbies and way of thinking.” Eunyoung answers with ‘you-know-what-I-mean’ look before playing with her phone.

That sentence sends Haewon to silence, she take a look at her phone and see a new message from Sehun.

Sehun: Home already? Stay safe, good night:)

Haewon: On my way, you too. See you tomorrow!

She smiles as she replies Sehun’s text, maybe Eunyoung’s right. It’s time for her to give someone a chance, it’s not that bad. She just hopes that this one won’t leave her miserable like what happen in junior high.

It takes about half an hour to get to Hannam-dong Stattion and then they need to walk for about 15 minutes before they arrived at Haewon’s apartment complex.

“Hey, how long have you been here? Three or four years, right?” Eunyoung asks as they entered Haewon’s unit.

“Yeah, why?” the house owner walks to the living room to put her bag as the lights turn on by themselves.

“Have you ever feel lonely? I mean, you have five bedrooms, a lot of space and yet you’re alone.” Eunyung says as she walks in to the kitchen and searching for something to drink. Her friends have been over a lot of times that they don’t need a guide anymore around the house but they still wonders ow could Haewon live alone in a big place by herself.

“I love quiet, you know that. Also, I only have three bedrooms now. One for my library and the other one is for my sanctuary room. And no, I’m not lonely. ” Haewon informs her and Eunyoung just shakes her head, “Whatever, you still have a lot of chips in your pantry storage?” Eunyoung asks as she takes a bottle of orange juice from the fridge. Haewon nods and then she heads to her bedroom upstairs to get changed.

Haewon changes her clothes to a short and oversize hoodie before goes back to downstairs. She finds Eunyoung already setting herself on the couch while watching the television.

“The game will start at 1 p.m. tomorrow, Miyoung says we need to be there by 11 to get the costmes and makes everything looks good.”

Haewon says to Euunyoung who nods, “Who’s the opponent tomorrow?” Eunyoung asks as she changes the chanel to find Netflix. “It’s …. Hmm ….” Haewon is scrolling down her phone to look who is their opponent for tomorrow’s match. She reads the table and stops for a while, Haewon keeps silent.

Eunyoung realizes that Haewon has been quiet so she takes a look at her phone, “What? Who is it?” Haewon gives her a look at her phone’s screen and the two of them exchange a look.

“Hyundai Senior High School, great.” Haewon huffs as she closes the match schedule from her browser tab.

“You mean that Hyundai ….” Eunyoung asks and the other girl just nods her head, “Oh, we’re doomed. I heard the girls are very petty,” Haewon laughs at her joke. Eunyoung always get to joke anywhere and anytime. “Oh, shut up!” Haewon throws her a pillow on the sofa, “It’s true though, just believe me by looking at them tomorrow. I heard they trained with Lia Kim from 1Million. Crazy, huh?” Eunyoung rolls her eyes and Haewon laughs. “You really are the source for everything, huh?” Haewon laughs. They continues to watch the television while eating the chips.

“I don’t know what to do tomorrow if I meet him,” Haewon mutters as she pick any Stranger Things’ episode that she hasn’t watched yet. Eunyoung looks to her side, “Ignore him, he’s a jerk.” she suggests and Haewon laughs again. “You really need to do a stand-up comedy thingy,” Haewon teases her bestie and Eunyoung replies her with a scoff. “You haven’t watch their season 2 finale yet?” Eunyoung asks as the show starts, “Nope, you?” Eunyoung shakes her head too. “Do you think Eunwoo would let me watch it?” they both laugh together.

“I think we need a sleep, you’ll need a lot of energy tomorrow.” Eunyoung says as the ending credit rolls up and they laugh together. “Please go to sleep, I mean it.” Eunyoung stands up and looking at Haewon who just gives her a smug look.

“Good night,” Haewon says as Eunyoung walks the stairs. As Eunyoung closes her bedroom’s door, Haewon closes her eyes. She looks to the digital clock by her side, it shows ten o’clock. Not her bedtime or maybe today’s not the day she’ll sleep.

Haewon walks to her sanctuary room, that’s how she calls it. It’s a revamped bedroom with white walls and one way mirror as the wall to the outside. The walls are paint-able, this is where she’ll do her homework because she could scribble anything she wants on the wall. She has this comfy bean-bag chair, a couple philosophy books such as Nietzsche and Rousseau, color markers, darts, and coffee machine. This is where she would spend her time here when she’s not in the mood laying down in the library or playing games in the game room. Darts is the only thing she love to play because she loves throwing things for no reason.

She takes a bunch of darts and throws it to the dartboard on the wall. If Haewon is playing darts, it means that she’s upset with something. But this time, it’s more like worry rather than upset.

Hyundai Senior High School.

That is where Jaehyun goes to high school. She knows she’ll meet him tomorrow because he updated his Instagram on him playing in the court or in the club. So he will be in the game tomorrow. He must be. He’s Jung Jaehyun, he was their junior high’s captain.

Jung Jaehyun was her first love and maybe the only guy that ever come to her heart. He’s the only boy who ever broke her walls and slipped in. Also the one who shot a fire at her and left. Jaehyun was her some in the first year of junior high. They spent a lot of times together and know each other like their own back of the hand. But suddenly he said that he’s in love with a girl from the band club named Siyeon. Jaehyun left her and they no longer talk like how they used to. They grew apart and her first love turn into a one-sided love because Jaehyun says that he looks at her as a sister.

Sister zone detected.

Haewon shakes her head and just laughs, more like laughing at herself.

Yeah, it’s ed up.

That’s why she decides to never ever care about boys anymore moreover having a relationship. Not really her thing. She doesn’t even have any boy to chat with. Unlike Jisoo who is popular because she’s a great singer, she always have someone in her contact as her chat-mate. Jisoo also knows Siyeon as she also had a band back in junior high and she’s the first person who told Haewon about Jaehyun and Siyeon. Areum is famous because she’s very athletic, she’s a great basketball player and runner but refuse to take part in any sport clubs because she says that she’s not really fond of being ‘exploited’. Meanwhile Eunyoung is someone you’d want to protect at any cost. She’s cute and really friendly, her short figure makes any boys love to hanging around with her.

Haewon sighs, tomorrow might does her energy. Her past will be there.

“How’s the sleepover?”

Areum asks both Haewon and Eunyoung arrive at the waiting room for the cheerleaders team.

“I slept, I don’t know about her.” Eunyoung shrugs as she points at Haewon whose looking for her costume beneath the cheers’ properties. “I did, for an hour or something … Hey, this is yours.” Haewon throws a set of costume at Eunyoung and the latter catches it.

“You knew about our opponent today?”

Jisoo asks while watching Haewon keep searching for her set of costumes.

“Yeah, the schedule is all over the internet. How could I not know?” Haewon jokes but then Jisoo stops her midtrack, “You sure you’re okay?” she asks her again, “Don’t worry about me, focus on the performance.” Haewon puts her hand on Jisoo’s arm before leave to get change into her uniform.

“She knows?” Areum asks Jisoo while watching Haewon walk away with Eunyoung to change, “Yeah, she does.” Jisoo sighs.

They both know how much damage that Jaehyun made to Haewon. How to the two of them became strangers as fast as a click on internet and how ed up Haewon was.

Sehun is preparing himself, he goes to a vending machine to buy an orange juice when he sees Haewon and Eunyoung coming out from the changing room. He sees that Eunyoung decides to leave first to the cheerleader team’s room that is in the other way as the vending machine is.

“Hey,” Sehun waves at her and she looks at his direction, “Hey, good luck to you and the others.” Haewon smiles at him as she and Eunyoung approach him.

“You too, good luck on the game. Try to not get injured maybe?” Haewon raises her brows and he just chuckles, “Yes ma’am, I’ll try.” Sehun salutes her and they both just laugh. They were talking when someone calls Haewon’s name from distance, they turn their head to the voice owner and Haewon widens her eyes.

, that’s him.

Sehun looks at the voice owner and then looks at Haewon back, he can sense that she’s stiffen as the boy approaches them.

“You’re here?” the boy in Hyundai Senior High School basketball uniform asks her while looking at Sehun who is standing right beside Haewon.

“Yeah, of course. I go to this school…. Oh, this is Jung Jaehyun from Hyundai Senior High School. This is Oh Sehun, he plays basketball too.” Haewon introduces the two boys to each other. “You’re playing?” Jaehyun asks Sehun, “Yeah, you?” Sehun asks him back as they shake their hands. “See you in the match then,” Jaehyun smiles at him.

Sehun takes a glance at Haewon who seems not comfortable with Jaehyun around, he doesn’t know why but he wants to help her.

“Hey, aren’t you should be in your waiting room to stretching and all?” Sehun asks Haewon suddenly, the girl looks at him but he looks convincing so Haewon goes along with his words. “Yeah, see you around.” Haewon bids goodbye and then walks away with Sehun to their rooms.

The two of them walk together but says nothing, Sehun really wants to ask Haewon who is Jaehyun but he decides to not saying anything.

“We went to the same junior high school,” Haewon says suddenly that makes Sehun turns to look at him, Haewon smiles at him as she stops in front of the door of her team’s room.

“Will you fill me with details if I ask you for a date after the game?”

Haewon furrows her brows, wondering if she’s mistaken. Sehun keep smiling at her so it must be real. “Are you really asking me for a date?” Haewon wonders and he nods at her question, there’s a silence before she finally laughs.

“Sure, I’d love to.”

Sehun swears he could feel his stomach turning as butterflies fly around it and he couldn’t help but to keep smiling as he enters his locker room. It’s his first time asking a girl out, a girl who genuinely feels comfortable with him and makes him act just the way he is. He doesn’t need to pretend, Haewon could see everything. The first and last time he asks a girl out was two years ago, he thought the girl was serious with him. Until he finds out that she was just using him to get to Taemin, his friends tols him and they broke things off. That’s why, friends are more important for Sehun because they’re not just friend but a family.

“We’re not fighting because of one stupid girl, you’re like my brother so how can I ditch you just for a girl?”

That’s what Taemin said to Sehun and the others.

“What’s with that smile over there? You’re getting creepy,”

Jongin approaches the male who just laughs as he throws his orange juice can to the trash bin.

“I asked Haewon for a date,” Sehun says as he leaning on his locker to put his ankle support on, Jongin gives him a look like waiting for his story’s continuation. Sehun chuckles, “She said yes,” Sehun continues and Jongin makes that ‘oh-I’m-so-proud-my-son’ face towards Sehun. “You did it, bro. You did it,” Jongin congratulates him because he knows that it is a big step for Sehun to take any girl out because he hardly even take a glance at other girl after his past thing.

“Boys gather up!”

Coach Kwon says in the center of the room and all the players gather to talk about their strategy.

“You met him? You actually met him?”

Areum asks Haewon and she just nods, “And then Sehun suddenly saying things as if I need to get out from there, in the end he helps me to get Jaehyun out of my sight.” Haewon says as she put on her shoes.

“Sehun?” Jisoo furrows her brows iin teasing manner, “We met on the way back from changing our clothes, that’s why I came back alone.” Eunyoung who just finished braiding her hair says and the other two females give a look at Haewon. Haewon who eels being watched just chuckles, “He asked me out,” she says casually as if it’s normal.

“HE WHAT?”

Her friends ask in loud volume that some other cheerleader members team turn their head to the four of them. “I—I’m sorry,” Haewon apologizes and then glares at her friends who can’t hide their excitement on the news. “Details please!” Jisoo pleads to the girl.

“I said yes, that’s all.” Haewon shrugs as she finished putting on her shoes. “That’s all? Girl, you did it! You moved out from that cloudy past, about a damn time you know.” Areum slightly slap Haewon’s arm while laughing. “That cloudy past is just happen to be here, so yeah. Whatever,” Haewon shakes her head. “Well, today is going to be a great day, I think.” Eunyoung excitedly says.

“Girls, let’s go!” Miyoung says and the girls gather to get ready.

“She’s responding to voices but still no significant activities shown yet. Let’s give her more time, I rpmise you she’ll be okay.”

Sehun sighs.

“Yeah, she should be. I don’t want to lose her, she’s my life.”
