Summary: The detailed story of how Donghae and Jessica gave each other the cold shoulder for a whole week, and what they felt, as well as what the people they are close with felt.

A/N: Refer to chapter 1, guys. Jess mentioned this as her answer to one of her questions. And to those who know the fandom reference, just pretend it existed at the beginning of 2014.

Disclaimer: This is completely fictional, seeing as Jessica’s no longer a member starting from 9/30 onwards. In this story, she still is but on a hiatus period. The company allowed her to pursue both her business and music career, and they compromised that once her business is set, she’ll continue with SNSD promotions.

[Fall 2014, October 12th, Sunday, 12:54am KST]

“Hey Jess, are you up for samgyupsal today? It’s been a while since all nine of us ate together…” A husky voice asked in English rang from the phone, the American accent echoed through the four walls of the quiet room.

A woman in her mid-20s sighed. She can feel her head spinning, already concluding a headache from the stress of the day. She replied in the same language to her friend, “I would love to, Tiff, you know that, but I’m really busy with B&E right now, and…”

She heard her friend sigh on the other side of the phone. Jessica felt really guilty of spending too much time on her business, but she was only fulfilling her dream! She’s finally going to be named as a designer and an entrepreneur. She’s so close.

“I get it, Jess, I really do. This is your dream. All of us know it and we are so proud of you. We just miss you, you know? I miss shopping with you, dude! Sooyoung too.” Came the reply of the other American, with Sooyoung, who understood everything (her English is getting better!) - replied with a “That’s right!”

Wait…what? “Yah, Tiffany Hwang! Am I on speaker phone?!”

But before the eye-smile girl could respond, another voice piped up through the speakers. “Sica-unnie! I miss you so much. When are we going to Lotte World again with Hyoyeon-unnie and Yuri-unnie??”

Warmth filled Jessica’s heart as she heard her favorite dongsaeng on the phone. “Aww, I miss you too, Yoongie. We’ll definitely go there soon. Just you wait~” The last line was said in a familiar melody of a famous Broadway musical.

“Just you wait~” 

“And there’s a million things I haven’t done…”

“Just you waittt”

“What’s your name, man?”

“ALEXANDER HAMILTION!”

Jessica laughed out loud alone in her condominium. Taeyeon, Sunny, and Seohyun suddenly belted out the introduction song of their favorite musical, Hamilton. “Well, you guys certainly didn’t throw away your shot on that one.” She teased with a familiar (and overused) reference.

“And we have never been more satisfied.” Taeyeon replied. Jessica could almost sense her smugness through the phone. 

“Ah, Dorky Kim Taeyeon strikes again. She blew us all away with that one.” Sunny responded.

“Unnie’s helpless, honestly.” And that was maknae, Seohyun.

Jessica was just listening to her members banter with fandom references. They really know how to make her laugh in times of stress.

“Yah, geumanhae! Just because you four got to watch and we didn’t doesn't give you the right to rub it in our faces!” Sooyoung’s indignant reprimand was loud enough to hear through the phone.

“Anyway, give me back my phone.” There was a little bit of rustling until the ice princess heard Tiffany’s voice again. “Sica-ah, how do we say this…oh, Donghae-oppa came here earlier today, I mean, last night, to surprise you.”

And just like that, her laughter plummeted onto her stomach as guilt started to rise. It didn’t help that when she looked at her phone, Donghae called her multiple times about it when she decided to put all calls on voicemail for the rest of the day. Silence filled both sides. 

“Yeoboseyo? Sica? You still there?” Taeyeon called out from Tiffany’s phone.

“Ah, ne. I’m still here. Where are you guys, anyway? And how is Hae? Isn’t he still in China until tomorrow?” The ice princess asked, glancing at her calendar, worried that she mixed up the dates. She didn’t. Before her fishy left overseas, he told her his full schedule and vice versa - in that way, both know when to contact each other and see each other. But…

Jessica could only sigh, as she rubbed the bridge of her nose to calm down. ‘Hae, bogoshipeo~ I’m sorry I forgot to tell you about unexpected meetings. I’ll make it up to you, I promise.’

“He came back early along with other Super Junior-M oppas, unnie.” Yoona informed. “Siwon-oppa told me their show appearance got cancelled for some unknown reason, and they didn’t have other schedules so they just flew back home.”

“Ah, geuraeyo?” Jessica couldn’t form a more elaborate reply. The guilt washing over her,

“Sica-ah, gwaenchanayo?” Hyoyeon asked, concerned.

“Sica-ah, are you and Donghae-oppa okay? It seems like you two aren’t on the same wavelength anymore.” Sooyoung asked, bluntly. “Ah bwoya! Yah, Lee Soonkyu!”

“Don’t you have enough tact? And don’t call me that. I’ll throw you off the stairs.” Sunny reprimanded the shkishin after she hit the back of her head.

“Ani, it’s okay, Sunny-ah. And Soo, Donghae-oppa and I are okay. It’s just that our schedules clashed, you know. What time did he come over?”

“Around 10pm. All of us were already home after our individual schedules by that time.” Taeyeon replied.

“Where were you at that time, unnie? We called you but you weren’t answering.” Seohyun piped up.

Jessica bit her lip at the irony. “I was in China meeting up with business partners and investors for B&E. I’m here now at my condo, just got back an hour ago.”

She looked at her desk. A long lamp giving light to the dark room stood on the left side as drafts of her designs, business plans, and contracts with investors filled her table. After she got back, she really wanted to sleep, but she has a deadline tomorrow, or rather in a few hours. She glanced at the clock just beside the lamp. It read 1:54 am. She leaned back on her seat and sighed.
