Promises Broken

Take Your Time

Namjoon came in last and had to hide his smile as he saw Somang looking so happy. He remembered every conversation they had had about his group and how she had been able to see past the idol to the person beyond. He was happy that she was meeting her heroes. The other three fans just seemed to fade into the background.

Somang died the minute BTS walked through the waiting room door. For four years she had been praying for this moment, never expecting her dreams to come true. Now...here she was, barely feet away from these seven men who had inspired her when times were dark.

After they did their introduction they invited everyone to sit down and one on one they spoke with the girls that had been selected to come back stage, spending a good 15 minutes with each one. As the girls finished and got their autographs they left for their seating for the soundcheck, leaving Somang completely alone in the room with the boys. She was dying.

All the boys looked at her like they knew something she did not and smiled. It was like a pack hunting their prey.

"What's your name?" Rap Monster asked, giving her his trademark smile.

"So--Somang," she said softly.

"Pretty name," he said, his eyes twinkling mischeiviously. "Are you here with your boyfriend?"

Somang blushed and shook her head.

After a few more minutes of talking, and getting a hug from the boys, she took her autographs thankfully and left for her seat. Checking her phone for any message from Mathan Somang sighed and looked around. This really was a once in a life time opportunity. Several minutes after that BTS came out on stage for the hundred or so fans that had managed a soundcheck pass, flirting and goofing off while they made last minute adjustments to their stages and checked their mics and such. All of them seemed very happy that day. Suga looked like he was floating on cloud nine. Taehyung and Jungkook were giving a crazy amount of fanservice and skinship, and Namjoon was floating around the stage, a goofy look on his face as he hummed what sounded like 'I Know'. Somang even swore he winked at her once.

Checking her phone once soundcheck had ended Somang texted Mathan to see if he was still coming.

Behind the stage Namjoon's phone went off and he ran to check it before leaving for his position. He frowned when he read the message from Somang. He hated lying to her even just a few minutes longer, but he knew that as soon as the concert was over he would be able to come clean.

NotAMonster: I'm so sorry Babygirl. My meeting is running over. I think I am going to miss the concert. Can I pick you up after?

Somang read the message and sighed.

_panda_somangshi: Okay...

Before she knew it the lights were out and the ARMY bomb ocean was in full effect. It was amazing. The boys flew out and Somang didn't think of Mathan for the rest of the show. The crowd interaction was amazing, and on several occasions the boys flocked to her side of the stage, Jungkook even taking her hand and singing to her while Taehyung stole her phone for a series of selfies that she would never, ever, delete. When the set was half way through the boys came out solo and in sets to preform special stages they had prepared.

'How is everyone doing tonight?" Namjoon yelled as he held his mic out to the crowd while Jungkook sat two stools on the stage for the both of them to sit. "Everyone having fun tonight?" he asked in his y English.

The crowd went wild.

"I know everyone has been really upbeat, but we want to tone it down just a bit, is that okay?" he asked.

The crowd screamed.

"This song that we are about to sing really means a lot to me because I did everything on my own, and I'm so thankful that Jungkookah agreed to sing it with me. I think he really brought out the beauty of the song, and I hope that you enjoy it."

As the lights dimmed the song started and the whole arena held their breath as "I Know' started. The emotions of the night were so raw that it seemed like they were singing to two specific people. Somang had been so wrapped up in listening to Namjoon's voice that she did not realize it had been moving until,he was right in front of her singing to her. Taking her hand and falling on his knees (which, caused her serious palpatations) Namjoon used this chance to throw his one major hint of the night, hoping nothing backfired. Looking at only her, he waited for Jungkook's voice to fade before starting the verse on his own.

"know you love me girl, so that I love you. know you love me boy, so that I love you. thank you so much for being at my side for these three years. know you love me girl, so that I love you. know you love me boy, so that I love you. I’ll be by your side always. don’t worry ’bout a thing, my love."

When the song had ended, Namjoon kissed Somang's hand and winked at her before bowing to the audience, running to the stool, picking it up, and running back off stage, a cheesy grin plastered on his face.

Somang was lost the rest of the concert as her mind spun and her hand tingled. The people sat around her all cooed over her in jealousy and awe but no one was rude to her and no one thought anything other than Namjoon was a lady killer. During their closing ment they talked about how they had never expected to sell out a crowd in London, and how they were forever grateful to their fans. They spoke of new experiences and how they had led the show tonight with no regrets all while trying new things. Not once did they forget their origins, and continually praised their crowd before one final Q&A session. Fans asked a variety of questions like their favorite foods or a perfect day off, and when it got to Namjoon they all laughed.

"How would you ask a girl for a date if you were interested in someone?" Suga asked with a cheeky grin.

Namjoon blushed deeply at that.

"I would sing to her," he said.

"What would you sing to her?" Jimin asked.

Namjoon thought for a moment before answering.

"I've been listening to a lot of different music lately, and there is a country song that I really like. I think I would sing that to her," he said with confidence.

"How does it go?" Suga asked, looking interested in his answer.

Namjoon shook his head and closed his eyes, thinking about which part to sing, and wondering if Somang would notice the song.

"Your eyes are so intimidating
My heart is pounding but
It's just a conversation
No, girl I'm not wasted
You don't know me
I don't know you but I want to
I don't wanna steal your freedom
I don't wanna change your mind
I don't have to make you love me
I just wanna take your time..."

It took Somang about thirty seconds before everything clicked in to place.

"No..." she breathed, her eyes going wide. "No way."

Pulling out her phone she sent a message to Mathan, Three minutes later she sent another. As the boys were walking off stage she sent one more.

_panda_somangshi: Mathan?

_panda_somangshi: Are you coming?

_panda_somangshi: Where are you??????

Namjoon left the stage, putting his mic pack on the table and went straight to his phone. He smiled when he read the messages and he could hear the panic in Somangs tone.

NotAMonster: Sorry Babygirl. I was just wrapping up. Was the concert amazing?

Somang read the messages as her suspicions rose. It would be a really odd coincidence.

_panda_somangshi: Are you still meeting me?

NotAMonster: About that...the concert venue is really crazy. Why don't you just let some people clear out and sit tight and I'll give you a ring when I get closer, okay?

Something was definately off. Mathan's answers were really vague. Switching over to Line, her finger hovered over the free call option for a moment before pressing the icon. Mathans phone rang several times before he answered it.

"What's wrong, Babygirl?" he asked, trying, and failing, not to sound out of breath and shooting lasers at his bandmates who were cat calling in the background.

"Where are you?" Somang asked in confusion.

"I'm coming to you like I said I would," he said.

"Why are you out of breath?" she asked. "What is all that noise in the background?"

"I ran to catch the bus," he lied smoothly.

"Where is your car?" she asked, her tone suspicious.

"I left it at the office," he said.

"Where is your office?"

"A few blocks away from the venue..."

"I don't believe you," Somang said with a pout.

By now the concert hall was clearing out and she appeared to be the only one still firmly in her seat.

"Give me twenty minutes and I'll be there, okay?" he said softly.

"Promise?" Somang asked, sounding worried.

"On my life," he said softly.

Somang disconnected and gathered her stuff in her bag, sitting back in her seat as her mind went a million miles an hour. What in the world was going on that her best friend was being so vague?

Twenty five minutes later, when the arena was finally empty and crews were coming out to pack up the venue, Somang had given up on Mathan coming and stood to leave when she felt someone behind her.

"Somang noona?" the deep voice asked, and she held her breath as she turned around, ready to give her friend an earfull.

Only it wasn't her friend. It was...Kim Namjoon.

"..." she breathed, as she felt her knees give way, and a strong pair of arms catch her before she could fall.
