x Missing "She's awake." The nurse informed the guardians of the patient that had just regained conciousness after a week of deep slumber. The married couple made their way to their daughter's room and went inside without a knock. The personels in white are making checks on her. "Vitals are stable." Her doctor, Dr. Son, said as she sat by the edge of the bed. "How are you feeling?" She asked with a warm tone of voice. However, the other girl seems to be confused and don't know what to even say. "Are you feeling pain somewhere?" The young doctor again, asked. Still, the other girl seems to have been lost in thoughts. She's just staring at the doctor that took a brief moment to look at her patient's parents before looking at the girl again. "Doctor, why isn't she speaking?" The parent's mother asked with the obvious hint of worry in her question. The doctor, keeping the woman's question in her mind asked another question at the girl. "Do you remember anything? Your name, parents, friends, where you live?" The girl which took a few more moments of staring at everyone in the room and finally at the doctor infront of her. And slowly, very slowly, she started shaking her head. "W..." the young patient took a deep breath, "Where am I?" It was silent inside the room. Not even their breathings could be heard appart from the faint sobs that the patient's mother made. "You're at the hospital, Eunbi-ya." The doctor answered, "I'll ask again, does it hurt anywhere?" The girl nodded this time. "My head... hurts." the girl answered slowly. As if she's having trouble mustering up words to be said next. "Where's Dr. Jung? Did you notify her?" She asked and the nurse checked her phone. "Yes Doc. I also checked her department and she's at the OR right now." "Okay, I understand." She said then again, looked at the patient. "How many fingers am I holding up?" The doctor raised two fingers infront of her as she made sure that her patient is looking at her. "Two... uh.. no. Three? I..." she said running out of words to say and frustration taking over. "It's okay Eunbi-ya. You can rest now. Let me just talk to your parents. Okay?" The doctor gave a warm smile before standing up and faced the guardians of the patient who is now back on her bed and laying down. The doctor and the parents have decided to step out as they are about to discuss a sensitive topic about their daughter, the patient's condition. "Doc, what's happening to her? It's not 'that' right?" The man asked as he was searching for a hint of agreement from the doctor. But there's none. "I'll be frank Mr. and Mrs. Hwang. Eunbi may be suffering from head injury. It could be fatal and could be not. We still have to run more tests to have an accurate result. But as of now, base on what we've witnessed just now, she's surely suffering from an amnesia. Let's just wait for Doctor Jung to finish. She can help you more with this, she's the neoreosurgeon that's assigned to your daughter. Don't worry, Mr. and Mrs. Hwang. She's the best we have." The young doctor again, assured them with a smile. The middle aged woman who's still young looking could only cry on her husband's arms. The doctor excused herself and left the guardians weeping for their daughter. ••• "Mr. and Mrs. Hwang." Doctor Jung gestured the couple to sit as she discuss her findings. "You're daughter is in a very serious condition right now." She started, "She's suffering from a Psychogenic Amnesia, or what we call, Dissociative Amnesia by now. Her physical trauma that came with the brain injury caused her loss of memory. DA can be cured by exposing her to her previous lifestyle, with her friends surrounding her and the even the environment helps too. It can last from hours to years. I'm telling you that she will take time to retrieve her memories. And I'll be honest. There are cases where patients can't recover their lost memories." From what the doctor said, the woman's heart almost sank as she heard her daughter's condition. Lucky enough, her husband is there to keep her sane and intact. "What about the case earlier?" The man is reffering to the incident where his daughter woke up, screaming and anyone who comes near her makes her cry and scared. She cries so fearfully that they hand to inject her a shot called 'haloperidol' to calm her down from he
