It was another rainy Sunday. The air was crisp and bit at peoples noses. Days like these are the worst for people in LA, but I loved it. briskly shuffled through the downtown area to get my favorite cafe. 

This cafe isn't too popular basically a hole in the wall, but somehow its always packed with the hipster scene and on a day like this I knew they would be swarming the place. Cold drops of water splashed on my shoulder, then atop my unruly curly mane. "This is great, its raining. I stopped dead in my tracks and looked up, smiled. By passers gawked, whispering amongst themselves. " beautiful " thinking to myself. Rain makes everything slightly more pleasing. Washes away the bad to make room for more. 

This time she took I took my time and walked normally, suddenly forgetting about the cafe.

At last here. As suspected the place is busier than normal, even for a Sunday. 

Waiting in line I scanned the room for an open seat. Everyone already had a seat. A group of girls laughing at table, a man sitting alone reading of his tablet, and everyone else who's just sitting lounging around. "Maybe someone will leave soon" I sighed. 

"Ma'am I can help you here" "ma'am hellooo" the cashier waving her hand at me looking annoyed but masking it with politeness. "Sorry daydreaming" she smiled.  "No problem what can I get for you" ....

"Alright green tea latte coming up" and your name ?". 

"Xan"

Awesome xan your drink will be ready soon. 

I stepped off to the side to let the next customer order....

Still scanning the room, a man just got up to leave. "Here's my chance" I hustled to the seat nearly knocking over a old man.

No time for politeness please forgive me but I need this seat. I graciously smiled and nodded to the old man. My way to give a look of pure sincerity. He smiled back. 

I put my bag down and put NY jean jacket over the back of the chair. "XAN" I rushed over to get my drink and a napkin.

Back to my seat, I let out a breath of relief. Laughing to myself I  took out my sketchbook and started on previous sketches from days before. 

A good past time and great way to get my ideas out. Sketching always takes me to another world figuratively and quite literally. Endless ideas to fill a page without words. Most of all drawing people from real life is the best, being able to capture a persons essence in your own. How you see them.

Half an hour went by, and I nearly finished my drink and decided to take a break from sketching. 

I found myself daydreaming out the window to the rainy scenery, people running trying to find a dry space.

"If they just took time to enjoy it and slow life down, they could appreciate how nice water feels on skin" I thought. I looked around the room one more time to see who I can sketch next...no one caught my eye just yet. 

Suddenly the group of girls got louder than usual laughing and whispering pointing near the register, I turned my head towards them to eavesdrop.

I was basically able to gather when a group of girls act like this the number one culprit a hot guy. 

"There's my new bae"  one girl snickered

"In your dreams" her friend elbowing her 

Now I'm not usually boy crazy never have been, in fact I've never even had a real crush on a boy before.

These girls are the epitome of what I'm not, but curiosity sparked my interest to at least glance at this "fine guy" as they put it. 

I casually turn around eyeing the register counter trying to spot this person....

"Dark black hair, pale skin (hint of color on his cheeks) , thick brows, and a mischievous smirk" hmmm I thought. I stared longer than what a normal person would. "Well he's not ugly" I said out loud on accident. 

Catching the girls giving me a death glare that could turn a person to ice.  "Great" I sighed 

Didn't mean to offend the girl party over there, before I knew now they were laughing and whispering while stating at me.

Being eyed down by a group of teenage girls is not fun believe me had enough of it in highschool.

I looked at them at rolled my eyes, definitely not what to do in the "how not to antagonize a person" manual. A book I clearly didn't read.

Embarrassed I could feel my brown cheeks turn hot. Thank god my skin isn't lighter or else they would see there snickering got to me. I glance back towards the register and where the pastry stand is, and to my dismay to add to my embarrassment That guy is staring at me too !! I can't read his expression its somewhere between half smiling but also confused.

 I saunter down in my chair and turn around. I swear if I ever needed an invisibility cloak now would be the best time. 

My stomach forms a knot, suddenly it hurts to swallow. "Not now anxiety not now" I whisper to myself looking at my hands clenched in my lap. 

I search many bag for earphones, stab them in my ear and search for the loudest song with the most bass in it. Close many eyes being drowned out by the vibrations from the music.

I start to relax, try to imagine I didn't embarrass myself in front of kids, and a random guy

"Why should I even be embarrassed, I'm an adult" trying to convince my self. 

"Just act like none of it happened, you don't even know these people" Still trying to convince myself to chill in my head....

Jaebum (POV)

"What a gloomy day, isn't LA the land of sunshine" jaebum said to himself as he tried to find parking in downtown LA. Its nearly impossible to find parking in LA an absolute nightmare. "Ill park a few blocks away and walk no big deal" he thought. After finding parking two blocks away from the cafe, he was somewhat annoyed and brushed it off. He was always quick to judge simple situations and become a bit agitated but soon after can analyze situations and calm down. "Its just a little rain, it never hurt anybody" he thought to himself.
