"Youngjae, please don't run," Yongguk calls after the energetic 4 year old who immediately lets go of his hand once they reach the supermarket. A part of him reminds himself that he needs to be more serious with the rules in public places, the last thing he wanted was for his son to get kidnapped.

"But daddy there's new cookies that Daehyunnie says I should try!" the child stops in front of the jams and jellies aisle with a pout but he waits for his father to catch up with him. Yongguk holds out his hand and he's relieved when a small hand rests in his own,

"We'll look at the cookies later okay? First daddy needs to buy more cabbage and barley tea," Yongguk mumbles as he looks down at the shopping list he'd made on his phone before they left the house. Youngjae doesn't let go of his hand and they slowly make their way around the mart,

"Did they move the cabbage?" Yongguk glances around the supermarket and he hates how they move things around nearly every day, he shops there nearly every four days or so and he's always confused when he enters. His heart stops when Youngjae let's go of his hand and runs off screaming,

"Uncle Junhong!" he blinks at the name and tries to recall where he'd heard it before. Yongguk follows the child running across the green carpets with his eyes before they land on a very familiar face, one he hadn't seen in years.

"Youngjae, you're not alone are you?" the tall male laughs as he picks up the child who squeals in delight. Yongguk approaches calmly and when those deep brown orbs meet his own his heart does something weird that he doesn't appreciate.

"Hello Junhong-ah," he greets with an awkward smile and he moves his long hair from his face, he really hadn't been expecting to see him again. Junhong glances over to him and the smile that stretches on his face is bright enough to light a room,

"Yongguk hyung, how are you?" he grins and Yongguk's eyes widen before he clears his throat and attempts to collect himself. Judging by how Junhong was wearing a white polo shirt and a green apron with his name on it, he worked here, why hadn't he ever seen the other male before?

"I'm doing well, and you?" Junhong sets down the child who easily clings to his long legs and Yongguk sends his son a look of betrayal that gets ignored. He sighs and Junhong has a look of amusement on his face,

"Well you know, juggling school and a job, life is great," he laughs heartily and Yongguk chuckles quietly. The last time he'd seen Junhong was when Youngjae was born, the whole family had been in the hospital room.

"Well I should let you get back to work, come on Youngjae," Yongguk beckons to the child who's glued himself to his uncle's legs, when he leans closer to pry his son away Youngjae merely glares at him. He's completely shocked at the icy expression and Junhong laughs,

"Whenever I'm at Jieun noona's he's always attached to me, I haven't seen him in awhile," Junhong explains and he pats Youngjae's black fluffy mop of hair. Yongguk blinks at this information and he meets eyes with the college student,

"You moved out?" he asks dumbly, from what he remembered Junhong had only just graduated high school when Youngjae was born, meaning he was only 21 years old since it was only September, he freezes when he notices how much he remembers about his ex girlfriend's younger brother.

"I'm living with a few of my friends from college, it's more convenient," Junhong shrugs and he places a few cucumbers in the bins on display, Yongguk looks around and he sees no other employees, it was probably a slow night.

And this was when Yongguk began to panic. The conversation had practically slipped between his fingers and he had nothing more to say. Hell he had no real relationship to Junhong, he barely even spoke with Jieun anymore other than when she had Youngjae on weekends.

"It was really nice to see you again hyung, you should get going before the store closes," Junhong says to him softly and Yongguk sees a dimple in his cheek. The way his messy black hair and crescent eyes mix together with his dimples and cute smile was really something.

"Y-yeah I should, we'll see you around?" Yongguk reaches out for his son's hand and thankfully the 4 year old actually complies. Junhong pats Youngjae on the head once more and meets Yongguk's eyes,

"I'll see you around, bye Youngjae!" Yongguk coughs as he looks away from that endearing smile and he practically drags Youngjae away. The 4 year old whines as he's forced to carry a box of barley tea and in exchange Yongguk buys him enough cookies for both him and his best friend 'Daehyunnie'.

Once again about two days later Yongguk finds himself in the supermarket with his son in tow. Today, Youngjae was rambling about these fruit jellies that 'Daehyunnie' had introduced him to and he'd even been kind enough to bring one home with him. It was empty though and the juices had seeped into his pocket which just resulted in a sticky mess.

This time they make their way towards the jams and jellies aisle first and Yongguk allows his son to pick up a tub shaped like a chick that's filled with little jelly containers. Youngjae swings it happily and he doesn't even let go of his father's hand for once.

Yongguk can't help but pass by the produce section even though he doesn't need to buy anything and Youngjae frowns at the amount of green surrounding them. Just like his mother he absolutely hated the taste of vegetables,

"What greens do we need to buy, daddy?" Youngjae adjusts his stubby grip on the handle of the tub and Yongguk casually looks at what's closest to him. He picks up a red pepper and wonders what he could even make with this,

"Those just came in this morning, real fresh, I mean everything is 'fresh' but those are fresher," Yongguk turns to his left and he sees Junhong casually leaning close to him while holding two boxes in his arms, he sets them down and Yongguk sees that they are filled to the brim with sweet potatos which happen to be beside him.

Who the heck put red peppers and sweet potatos beside each other?

And most importantly, why was fate against him?

"J-junhong," he stutters oh so intelligently and Youngjae peeks out behind his legs to wave at his uncle, unfortunately he uses his hand that isn't holding Yongguk's which results in a tub of jellies attacking his father's thighs.

"You know hyung, one might think you were coming to see someone," Junhong teases and Yongguk is easily reduced to a blushing puddle. Now that he thinks about it, Jieun had been the first to approach him in college, and he hadn't actually dated since his son's birth.

"Youngjae wanted jelly," he replies and the look of disappoint in Junhong's face is almost noticeable if Yongguk hadn't ducked his head down the second he finished his sentence. He places down the red pepper and gets ready to head towards the cash register when Junhong calls out to him,

"You didn't need any produce?" he asks whilst holding up the same red pepper he'd just been holding. Yongguk's jaw drops and he tries to think of an excuse, but his brain doesn't work very well under pressure,

"I was just... passing by?" he supplies and the smile that breaks on Junhong's face is enough to make him run away. Youngjae once again whines at him because his legs hurt and he can't keep up the pace with his father but Yongguk buys him an extra candy bar while checking out to keep him quiet.

The moment Yongguk enters the automatic doors the next day he knows he's screwed. He didn't even have an excuse with him today, it was Saturday and Youngjae was with his mother. Yongguk didn't even know if he was going to see Junhong today, why couldn't he just ask his ex for her brother's number?

Wait, no that was just weird.

Yongguk casually strolls inside and he greets the worker who's helped him cash out his groceries the past week, thankfully she didn't seem to have any suspicions, it wasn't uncommon for someone to come to the supermarket every day anyhow.

This time Yongguk doesn't even bother being subtle and he makes his way to the produce section. Junhong's been on his mind for the past week now and he was starting to go insane with his dreams involving a certain man and his perfect dimple smile.

With his hands in his pockets he looks at the various variations of produce and how they're nicely organized for the public, Yongguk puts a hand over his beating heart and he reminds himself that he's now 26 years old and he has a kid for crying out loud, he shouldn't be this awkward.

However when he feels someone poke him in the shoulder he can't hide the shocked yelp that utters from his lips and when he jumps around he sees Junhong holding in his laughter.

"Wow hyung, didn't mean to scare you," he says in an apologetic manner and Yongguk has to take a step away to catch his breath. Curse all of those horror movies his older sister used to force him and his twin to watch when they were younger.

Just as Yongguk's about to ask why Junhong wasn't in the produce section he notices that the younger man isn't even wearing his uniform. Junhong was dressed in a t shirt and high waisted jeans, along with a long wool cardigan and sneakers, he looked so fashionable in comparison to Yongguk's hoodie and joggers.

"Grocery shopping?" Yongguk clears his throat and plays it cool which doesn't really work but Junhong wouldn't burst his bubble like that. Yongguk looks around and he can see numerous people giving curious glances over to them, considering he did disturb the peace with his manly scream.

"Actually, I was hoping to find someone," Junhong begins and he walks down the aisles, Yongguk follows him and he stays slightly behind since no one would be able to walk in the other direction if they were side by side.

"There's been somebody who caught my eye and I'm hoping I caught theirs as well. I don't work today but I was hoping to catch them looking for me," Junhong looks over his shoulder and he gives a knowing smirk at the other male. Yongguk's mind works at an excuse but he feels that maybe he doesn't need one this time,

"M-me too actually, I came here looking for someone," he mutters and Junhong stops walking. He turns around completely and meets Yongguk's eyes, waiting for him to continue,

"And I was hoping he'd like to go out for some coffee?" Yongguk sends a shy gummy smile ay Junhong who receives it with a dimple grin. Junhong reaches for his hand and they intertwine fingers as they exit the supermarket.

"I think he'd like that a lot."
