“Yeoboo, she needs to sleep now, it’s her afternoon nap time.”
“But..but..ommoo, my daughter why are you so pretty? Look at her red cheeks, she looks like an apple.”
Mo Yeon shook her head, then stood closer to Si Jin who was still lying down, facing their daughter.
“Aigoo, Hye Na-yaaa, appa is back like this again, how come he said you look like an apple, while you look exactly the same like him? c’mon sweetheart, time for afternoon nap”
She lifted the infant up, and the girl was just giggling.
Yoo Hye Na, was their first daughter who was born four years after they moved to New York.
Both Si Jin and Mo Yeon decided to have a child once when they’re settled, because the first few years there were not that easy, both of them had to juggle between several jobs to settle down.
Things went better when Si Jin got the secure position as one of the junior editors at The New York Times, and Mo Yeon was now working as one of the contributors for news agency which their main target was the Korean community in The States, her job allowed her to have more time for her small family, because she basically could finish her work from home.
After their fourth anniversary, Mo Yeon found out that she was pregnant, and of course, Yoo Si Jin was so over the moon, it was crystal clear that this man would be a great husband and dad just by the way he took care of Mo Yeon when she was pregnant and also how hard he cried when Hye Na was born.
“Is she sleeping already?”
“Hmm, she is, well, our daughter just turns one, yeobo, she still needs to have a lot of sleep.”
“Hahhaa i know, i still can’t believe that i’m a dad already.”
Mo Yeon smiled warmly at Si Jin and rested her head on his shoulder when both of them sitting down on the sofa at their living room.
“Mmm, and i still can’t believe that i have an amazing husband like you..” Mo Yeon winked at him.
“Mrs. Yoo, you have a really smart mouth..”
Si Jin was about to kiss her when he heard his phone rang. He furrowed his eyebrows when he saw the number was from South Korea.
“It’s already midnight there, who’s that?”
“I don’t know, let me answer this one first.”
Si Jin picked up the phone and he heard a very familiar voice, he nodded his head while replying the person that talked to him on the phone, while Mo Yeon just looked at him in confusion.
He hung up the phone with a chuckle.
“Mo Yeon-ah, you won’t believe this, our friends are getting married.”
“Nuguu?”
“Well, one of my best friends and one of your best friends.”
“Jinjjaaa?? who?”
“Well, it’s time to bring Hye Na to Seoul.”
Several weeks later the three of them arrived in Seoul, of course as a baby, Hye Na cried during that more than twelve hours flight from New York to Incheon, and both Si Jin and Mo Yeon had to keep their baby happy.
