The Girl Next Door
Description
Kim Jisoo was a normal 22-year-old university student who never bothered to get in anyone's way or stand out excessively from the crowd. She had been a bully back in high school and she regretted it immensely after causing a younger girl to transfer out; Jisoo never had that intention in the first place. All she wanted was some attention - the attention she never got from the right people. Whether her parents chose not to see it or whether she wasn't good enough for them... or even if her older sister was better than her, Jisoo simply had no clue and she was always outcasted at home.
That was most likely why she only got along with friends that truly cared about her well-being; her bullying often got on their nerves and they made sure to talk to her every now and then, only to no avail.
Now that Jisoo has a chance to make it up to that girl, what's going to happen between them? Will the other girl even bother to listen to her?
Foreword
“Does it seem like I’m insincere?”
“Yes.”
“Hey,” Jisoo pouted and rested her chin on her palms, looking away from the younger girl sitting in front of her. She had expected that answer but it was unexpected nonetheless, especially from the seemingly-quiet girl. “I know I was a back then but I truly feel bad about it.”
The younger girl didn’t say anything in response to Jisoo's claim, simply flashing a cold smile at Jisoo. It was so difficult to understand what Jisoo was up to in the first place. There was absolutely no way someone like Jisoo would be nice for no reason at all; thinking back during their high school days, all she ever received was mocking and jeering from Jisoo because of how she couldn't speak Korean well. She continued to poke around her creme brulee, ignoring the strong gaze she was receiving from the ex-bully. In fact, why in the world was she even entertaining Jisoo's lacklustre apology?
Why?
Jennie wanted to know too.
