How It All Started
-------
They have known each other since diaper years, having their parents living in the same neighbourhood and being the only children born on the same year in said neighbourhood, it’s no brainer that they’ll be hanging around each other a lot.
That’s how it all started for Yoo Si Jin, Kang Mo Yeon, and Yoon Myeong Ju. They always come as a set, never seen without the other. Myeong Ju was the troublemaker who always picks fights and loves to prank her enemies. Si Jin, despite being the only boy within the group, was the crybaby and is always targeted by the bullies. Mo Yeon was their leader, Si Jin’s saviour from the bullies, and the only one who can stop Myeong Ju’s delinquency.
Though amongst the three friends, Si Jin and Mo Yeon had been closer from the start but Myeong Ju never felt left out, it was actually the opposite as being the youngest of the bunch, as she viewed them as her second mommy and daddy and mommies and daddies are always together no matter what.
As they grew older, their dreams changed from the unrealistic ‘I want to own a dragon’ one to something more attainable. Si Jin was enrolled to taekwondo classes by his parents so he can manage to fend off his bullies even without Mo Yeon’s help as being rescued by a girl is not cool anymore at their age; over time, he learned about mixed martial arts and aspired to be the best artist ever.. Mo Yeon had found love in taking care of stray animals and wanted to become a veterinarian to be able to help them when they are sick. Myeong Ju, on the other hand, wanted to become a gang leader to the dismay of both her parents and best friends. Still, even if they were pursuing different dreams, their friendship still remained in a tight knit and they always depended on each other.
When they were seven, the concept of marriage and love were introduced to them and Si Jin, being young and clueless, liked the idea of marriage so much that he proposed to the one he thought he would like to spend his whole life with.
“Mo Yeon! One day, I’ll be a MMA legend and fight in the UFC! When that happens, marry me, okay?” He demanded, his eyes wide with childlike wonder, and held out his pinky.
Mo Yeon, who was surprised at the sudden declaration, asked, “what’s MMA and UFC, Si Jin Ah?”
“Something that will give me a lot of money so you’ll live a very comfortable life as my wife,” he grinned while wiggling his pinky, eager for her to uphold her part of the promise.
Her eyes widened at the thought. “Ommo! Jinjja?! Okay then!” She wrapped her pinky around his to seal their promise.
“I promise to be a good wife for you as long as you’ll buy me anything I want.”
“Neh!”
They both laughed. How easy was it for two innocent kids to make a promise that they’re not even sure they can keep.
------
Fast forward and they’re high school students all of a sudden. They enrolled in different schools as Si Jin studied in a high school near the city where the facilities are not only better, he can focus on practicing taekwondo and participate in matches as well. Mo Yeon and Myeong Ju stayed in their local school but in spite of their widening distance, they remain the best of friends. During this time, Si Jin also made an unlikely friend in the name of Seo Dae Young who is the polar opposite of the energetic and reckless Yoo Si Jin. They were the type of people that you wouldn’t even imagine getting along with each other but they did.
His girls never stopped supporting him though, always present whenever he has a match and cheered him on whenever he lost. His popularity soared as he became a prodigy and got himself his own fan club. Mo Yeon sneered
