It was the night before the enlistment Nam ji hyun was busy prepping up for a date....

"Tonight will be the last night of being together...what to do?" she nervously thought. She meticulously choose what to wear and decided to put on light makeup just enough to highlight her eyes and lips.

A soft knock on the door "Ji hyun-ah, manager-nim is waiting for you downstairs" her mom called.

"Just a minute!" she then hurriedly secure the lock of her wishing necklace, whisked perfume and frantically grabbed her bag....

Her manager dropped her off at Alvers Lab...it was already closed except for a dim light at the counter everything was silent, a sudden twinge of apprehension jolted her composure, "What is this? Ah it's starting to sink in...I'm missing him already...but why am I agitated?" she anxiously thought

Nam ji hyun composed herself and hurriedly walk inside to meet her date. Ji Chang Wook was already sitting at a table in the corner...

"Oppa, I'm here" Ji hyun sofly said with a smile. Ji Chang Wook still straightfaced stood up and helped her with her seat.

"Why is it so dark in here? Where is Kang-woo Oppa and Manager-nim?" she quickly asked.

"Jihyun-ah" he stressed out "what would you like to drink? Let's order first" he retorted 

"Oppa" she looked at his eyes and tried to search where was this agitation coming from

"Jihyun-ah" he started "I don't know how to say this but can you do me a favor?"

She have nothing to say except to silently nod her head in agreement

He drew a deep sigh and said "Jihyun-ah can we start all over again?"

Jihyun begins to panic, the surge of something bitter from the pit of her stomach was starting to climb its way up....the thumping of her heart is starting to get crazy..."What are you talking about?" she meekly replied

"You see, I'll be enlisting tomorrow...from then on there will be 19 or at the most 21 months before we see each other ...can we stay like we were when we were just starting off in the drama?" Chang wook said without looking in her eyes.

"Oppa! what all of a sudden are you talking about? Aren't you being mean? Speak in Hangul? Why are you speaking in English? Please explain it to me in lay man's term, I can't seem to understand what are you talking about." Ji hyun in her most calm voice said

"I know this will sound harsh but this is not all of a sudden...I've been thinking about this for a few days now and I can't seem to accept the fact that I'm being selfish for asking you to wait for me till I return" he said looking straight into her eyes

She can clearly see the anguish in his eyes but still can't seem to comprehend what he's asking her to do "So, what are you planning to do...with us?" she exasperately said

"I'm asking you to go on with your life...study harder...meet new friends freely....if along the way you were confronted by love again...just go on with it don't mind me...you're still young...it'll be too selfish to tie you down" he relented with eyes b with tears

"Aren't you being absurd? So you are being selfless now? What is this? What are you talking about? So you want us to forget that we are in a relationship and just be friends?" she said to her dismay

"I'm sorry" he dropped his gaze and searched for her hand

"No" she said with conviction "I still can't see where you're coming from, I still can't understand....but it's not because you want to end it, it means the end right? Not until I say so...Okay, you don't want me to be there tomorrow, fine I won't be there...what else? you don't want me to visit? Okay, I won't...but I will do my part as your girlfriend until the time I got tired of it and finally reached my limit...I didn't fall for you suddenly, it took me a long time to be able to reconcile with myself in committing to you...now this..." she said trembling

"Ji hyun-ah" he whispered

"Don't say my name...don't do anything...yes you are selfish and now being selfless...I'm still in love with you..." she said with a voice full of dread "I will accept your lame excuses, be satisfied with your explanation, I'll let you go with peace of mind...but this doesn't mean I'm ending it with you....." she stood up shaking, dashed to embrace him and with a kiss...she said "I want you to stay healthy always, please be well Oppa..." then she hurriedly ran towards the door without looking back.
