Affection

Every Night and Day

"What are you doing here???"

Sunghoon smiled from the door way. "You got married. And you didn't think to tell me."

Yoongi rubbed the back of his neck. "Oh, yeah. Aren't you busy and stuff?"

His brother stepped in the house and made himself comfortable quickly. "I didn't even know you were seeing someone. So anyway, when and how did you propose?"

Yoongi followed his half brother deeper into the apartment. "We kind of skipped that."

"Proposing? You just got married on a whim?"

"No, both."

"What do you mean, both?"

"We weren't dating."

Sunghoon narrowed his eyes at his younger brother, confused. "What?"

Yoongi bunched his lips to the side before explaining. "Well, you know how I found Hoseok in 7th grade? Apparently, every time the sun sets, he has to go through a death. The only way to stop that and make us both normal is to get married."

Sunghoon frowned, quiet for a long time while he processed it all. "Oh."

Yoongi nodded. "Yeah. Do you want a drink or something?"

Sunghoon shook his head. "So you're just married to this guy you barely know? Who apparently has been dying every single say?"

Yoongi shrugged. "Yeah, I guess."

"What are you going to do?"

Yoongi thought about it, and his brother patiently waited. "Try and figure it out with him."

Sunghoon nodded and the two settled into a comfortable silence for a  while before it was broken again. "Wait, so this guy has only ever seen the day time?"

"Well, yesterday he saw the dark for the first time. He didn't seemed fazed."

"I have an idea." Sunghoon showed Yoongi a devious smirk.

Hoseok guessed Yoongi had gotten his number from Byulyi. He was surprised to receive the text three days after their wedding, but then realized they'd have to talk to each other again sometime. He was now in Yoongi's car, being driven off to who knows where.

Hoseok still wasn't used to the black sky. Every night, he always felt anxious. It'd never been this dark before, and Hoseok learned he was easily scared because of it. He just sat in bed, bundled in blankets, waiting for the men wearing black to jump out and say, "Just kidding! You have to continue dying, even though you're married." But they never came, and instead, Hoseok was pulled into a state of unconsciousness he assumed was sleep. It was also weird waking up so late, and he kept coming in to work late because of it. But Byulyi seemed to be a lot more relaxed, and he could tell it was better for her not to have to worry about him anymore. She still hadn't fully gotten used to it either, though, since she always checked on him anyway and some old habits hadn't worn off yet.

But it was still a lot better than it had been.

Yoongi's car stopped, causing Hoseok to lean forward a bit at the sudden lack of motion, and he was pulled out of his thoughts. He realized it seemed darker wherever they were, and he couldn't figure out where that was. Yoongi got out and walked to the other side of the car, opening the door for Hoseok, who was busy looking at their surroundings with an enchanted expression.

"Oh!" Hoseok said. "Thank you." He didn't notice Yoongi getting a little flustered.

"This way," he said, gesturing for Hoseok to follow.

As his eyes adjusted to the dark, Hoseok realized they were in the forest. Trees looked really different in the dark blue tint of the night. He looked around in awe as they walked down a path and took several turns. Finally, they came to a clearing. There was a blanket set up, and Yoongi set a bag Hoseok hadn't noticed he'd been carrying down next to it. He then sat down, and patted the space next to him.

"Come." Hoseok obliged. "You haven't had much of a chance to see the stars, have you?" Hoseok shook his head, looking up to the sky.

It was beautiful. There were the black silhouettes of tree branches that reached to the sky, but beyond that, tiny specks of shimmering light. They were sprinkled across the sky like glitter, sometimes varying in color. The black tinted blue and purple backing made each one stand out, even the smallest one. Hoseok stretched out his legs and leaned back on his hands.

"Wow," he breathed.

Yoongi woke up first (surprisingly). They had talked late into the night, eating all the snacks he'd brought and learning a bit more about each other until Yoongi fell asleep. Hoseok must have stayed up a little more to look at the stars, which was probably why he hadn't woken up earlier than Yoongi. They were curled up on different sides of the blanket, Hoseok's back to Yoongi. From the position of the sun, it must've been pretty early. Yoongi tapped Hoseok's shoulder, and the other stirred.

"Hoseok, I'm going to drive you back now, okay?" Hoseok nodded.

While Yoongi was driving back to the city, Hoseok fell asleep once again and needed Yoongi to wake him up when they arrived at his house.

"Bye," he said, offering a big smile to Yoongi. He wasn't exactly refreshingly beautiful from having just woken up, but its effect was still the same. "Thank you for doing that for me. I liked it a lot."

Yoongi smiled a little, too. "Bye, Hoseok."

A few more days passed after that, and neither texted the other. Hoseok finally gathered the courage and invited Yoongi out. He spent way too much time trying to not seem too eager, but not bored, and at the same time interesting, yet calm. He came up with: Hey, Yoongi! I was wondering if you wanted to go out this Friday? If you're free. He then proceeded to slam his head on the table, claiming that he hadn't meant to press send that early without reading it over more times and Yoongi would probably think he was a creep now. But apparently, Yoongi was not as nervous as Hoseok because only a couple hours later, he replied with: Sure. Let me know when.

Hoseok couldn't stop beaming.

He took Yoongi out to the park first. He hadn't been planning on anything in particular; he just wanted to show off how beautiful the daytime was without a stinging pain. Yoongi seemed to be interested in the basketball courts, so they played a quick game that was quick because Yoongi won too easily. Hoseok had never thought he was bad, but Yoongi didn't go easy on him at all, and he was good enough to be professional.

After the game while Yoongi messed with the ball on his own, Hoseok had a realization. He didn't need to be nervous around Yoongi. They were married. They couldn't exactly escape each other. It would be like the dating experience, except without fear of being judged or left by the other person. This helped Hoseok calm down a lot more, and he was able to loosen up. They then sat in the shade for a while, just talking.

"Byulyi is like my sister. I don't have any siblings, but we grew up together and she takes care of me, so it's like I do. I don't know. I love her."

Yoongi nodded and looked off into the distance as Hoseok played with the grass beneath them. "Yeah. I have a brother, Sunghoon. He's probably the most important person in my life."

Hoseok looked up to Yooongi, surprised. "Min Sunghoon? Your brother's an actor? He didn't come to the wedding." Usually, Hoseok avoided talking about that day, but it just slipped out. And shockingly, it didn't make him uncomfortable.

Yoongi still didn't look at Hoseok, but Hoseok realized that was just something he did. "I didn't have time to tell him, and he's usually busy. But I saw him the day after. He's the one who gave me the idea to take you out to see the stars."

Hoseok hummed.

Then, they went out for lunch. Hoseok allowed himself to be comfortable around Yoongi. They settled in conversation again and Hoseok was having fun being with Yoongi. His husband.

Yoongi found himself at the shelter, looking at all the dogs. There were dogs of all breeds and ages. He didn't know what he was looking for until he spotted a small, brown toy poodle.

Later in the day, Yoongi was in his bedroom, trying to sleep. He couldn't though. His thoughts were filled with Hoseok. They didn't have a real label for their relationship besides "husbands" but that didn't really describe how close they were acurately. They were more like friends, but not like friends at the same time. They were both extremely comfortable around the other, and neither felt like he needed to act a specific way with the other. Yoongi felt completely safe and able to be himself. They sometimes went out on "dates" but they hadn't really started to feel romantic yet. Sure, they did have moments when they felt flustered or shy, but they never acted on it. They were sometimes at each other's houses, and a lot had been learned about the other so that they knew each other fairly well. Yoongi knew he had a crush on Hoesok, but he was too comfortable to do anything about it.

Eventually, Yoongi fell asleep.

Hoseok knocked on the door. Right after, he heard scrambling and weird noises. He realized it was a dog.

Hm, Hoseok thought to himself. I didn't know Yoongi got a dog.

Yoongi immediately opened the door afterwards, looking disheveled. His hair stuck out in all angles, and he was wearing a baggy t-shirt and boxers. Hoseok smiled and started to smooth down the other's hair.

"Why did you want me to come?" he asked.

"Oh, right," Yoongi said, pulling away from Hoseok and opening the door to let him in. When the door closed, Hoseok noticed a tiny puppy with curly brown fur and adorable little legs.

"Oh my god!" squealed Hoseok, kneeling down to pet the dog. He heard Yoongi shuffling around behind him.

"Yeah, I got him a few days ago."

"He is so cute!" replied Hoseok. He felt Yoongi kneel beside him. "What's his name?"

"Holly," said Yoongi. He was so close, Hoseok could almost feel his breath on his skin. But instead of nervous or uncomfortable, he felt safe. That's the affect they had on each other now. Maybe they couldn't have a storybook romance, but it was enough to be satisfied. Hoseok knew he was happier than he would have been if Yoongi had just left him after getting married.

Yoongi stood up suddenly. Hoseok turned away from Holly and looked at Yoongi.

"I have to show you something," Yoongi said. "In... my room."

Hoseok smiled and raised his eyebrows at flustered Yoongi, but followed him when Yoongi started walking to his room. They entered together.

There was another dog in the room. Yoongi picked him up, bringing him to Hoseok who was in the doorway. Hoseok fell in love with the puppy's big eyes and long brown and white fur. "Aw, who's this?" asked Hoseok.

"I don't know. He's... for you."

Hoseok gasped and opened his eyes wider. "Really???" He took the puppy from Yoongi's hands. "Oh my gosh, thank you so much, Yoongi!" He started talking to the puppy. "Aw, you are so cute. Why are you so cute? What do you want to be called? Hm? I shall name you Mickey."

Yoongi was smiling and watching the scene play out before him. "Why?"

Hoseok looked at Yoongi and shrugged. "It just came to me." Yoongi smiled again, and Hoseok brought Mickey out to play with Holly.

Yoongi followed. "You know, Mickey has a lot of energy. It's tiring taking care of him."

Hoseok looked up at him from his spot on the floor, watching the puppies nudge each other's bodies with their noses. "Is that why you look like a mess?" Yoongi scoffed and placed himself next to Hoseok.

His expression softened and he kept his eyes on Hoseok's. Yoongi couldn't help but smile at the attractive man in front of him.

"Let's move in together," Hoseok blurted out.

Yoongi raised his eyebrows. "What?"

Hoseok subconsciously placed his hands on Yoongi's knees. "We should. You said we should give our marriage a try, right? Well, we shouldn't be living in separate houses. We aren't strangers anymore. It's been a month. Come on, Yoongi. Please?"

Yoongi sighed. "How could I say no to you?"

The house they bought was just outside the city where they could still be close to work and their friends. It was a lot cheaper there, too, and the house was an actual house, much bigger than any apartment or townhouse in the city. It had two stories, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the second one, and the kitchen, dining room, living room, and last bathroom on the first. Yoongi and Hoseok would sleep in their own bedrooms, and the guest bedroom was the smallest room, in between their two. Hoseok had insisted that Yoongi get the master bedroom with the bathroom, and after a long arguement and very stubborn Hoseok, Yoongi gave in. Hoseok took the slightly smaller but still nice room.

Yongsun had moved in with Byulyi in Hoseok's place. Sunghoon visited after learning they were moving in together and briefly met Hoseok in person before rushing off to work.

All their things were moved in fairly quickly, as neither had too many belongings. The first night, both Yoongi and Hoseok were tired and fell asleep after a quick "Goodnight", each in their own rooms.

The next night, Yoongi had to work. He'd changed his shift at the bar, but it still ended quite late. When he got home, Hoseok was already sleeping. Yoongi collapsed on his bed, ready to sleep after the exhausting customers. Right before he sank into a comfortable, deep slumber, however, there was a faint whine and scratching sound on his door. Yoongi knit his eyebrows and tried to ignore it at first. But the sound didn't stop, and Yoongi angrily got up. He glanced at the clock, which read 2:47 am. Annoyed, Yoongi flung open his door.

Mickey had been scratching the door, and Yoongi moved out of the way, thinking the puppy wanted to sleep in the bed, since both dogs had slept with him at his old apartment. But instead of strolling in, Mickey instead turned around and started walking away. Yoongi frowned and turned around, walking back to bed without closing the door in case Mickey changed his mind. As he was climbing back into his bed, however, the sound of Mickey's paws clattering on the floor stopped, and he whined. Yoongi groaned and got up again, this time following Mickey all the way to where he was taking Yoongi.

Hoseok's bedroom.

Mickey stood at the door, looking between the door handle and Yoongi. Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows at the puppy before reluctantly opening the door. As he did, he realized why Mickey was worried and was thankful the dog was so intelligent. Yoongi could hear Hoseok crying.

Yoongi slowly walked over to the bed, and saw that Hoseok wasn't awake. Surprising even himself, Yoongi climbed into Hoseok's bed beside him. He wiped away the tears streaking Hoseok's face and his hair without knowing exactly why he was doing what he was doing. Hoseok's hiccupped breathing evened a little, and Yoongi continued, pulling Hoseok closer to him with his free arm.

He meant to leave after a while, but sleep pulled him in before he could.

Hoseok woke up and immediately noticed the weight across his stomach. He looked to his left, and Yoongi's sleeping face greeted him, way too close to his own. Hoseok almost jumped out of the bed, his arms stretched out in front of him, accompanied by his famous "not-pleased" face.

"Yoongi, what are you doing here??"

Yoongi blinked several times before sitting up and looking around the room. "Hm? Oh, me? Is this not my room? Sorry. It was late and dark and I was tired, so--"

"You rarely get tired, unless it's daytime. And you can see in the dark better than anyone," Hoseok countered.

"Why are you arguing if it's the truth? Don't you trust your husband?"

Hoseok pouted. "I hate it when you use that on me."

Yoongi only shrugged. "Sorry for the mix-up. I'll go shower now. See ya later, Hobi."

Yoongi walked down the hallway to his room, and then his connected bathroom. As he did, Hoseok shouted, "The doors to our rooms are literally the farthest from each other on this floor!"

"When have I been known for being intelligent?" Yoongi barked back.

Hoseok knew that wasn't right, but he couldn't think of anything to say. What bothered him was that Yoongi was the least likely out of the two of them to voluntarily hold the other in his sleep.

The next night, the first thing Yoongi did after coming home from work was head into Hoseok's room. He was crying again, and Yoongi's chest pained at the sight. Instead of climbing in, Yoongi sat on top of Hoseok's blanket and pet his head until he stopped crying. Yoongi then left and fell asleep in his own room.

The next morning, Yoongi woke up early on purpose to not miss Hoseok when he left for work. Hoseok was in the kitchen, and Yoongi walked in.

"I'm quitting my job, and I thought you might want to know."

A piece of toast hung from Hoseok's mouth as he made food for Yoongi. He didn't look towards the counter edge Yoongi was leaning on and instead pulled the toast away and continued doing what he was with one hand.

"Why?"

Yoongi looked out the kitchen window where the sun was halfway done rising. "I don't like it and I only worked there because it ran through the night."

Hoseok finally turned to face Yoongi. "So what are you going to do?"

Yoongi said with no hint of sarcasm, "Aren't you going to support me? I was planning on being a stay at home dad."

Hoseok didn't smile. "We don't have kids, though." He turned back to the stove he'd been working at. "Are you going to turn those songs you write into a career?"

Yoongi smiled a little. He'd never told Hoseok about the songs. "Yeah. This company actually said they want me to write and compose. I already said yes."

Hoseok didn't say anything, but Yoongi watched as he finished up with the pan and turned off the stove, placing the bread down as well. Then, he walked across the kitchen to Yoongi. Before he knew it, Yoongi was wrapped loosely in Hoseok's arms, and Hoseok was showing him his perfect, real smile, the one that reached his eyes and wasn't just for show. "I'm so happy you get to do what you like doing," he said.

Yoongi tried not to blush and bit his lip, shrugging. "Yeah, well." Hoseok didn't let go, and Yoongi was starting to feel a little uncomfortable because neither of them were talking. "Do you plan on working as a barista forever?" he asked. Hoseok's face turned serious.

"Yes, actually. Do you not approve of my childhood dream?"

Yoongi scoffed. "What's with all your sarcasm today?"

Hoseok smiled again. "No. But I do really like it there." He finally let go of Yoongi's waist, turning around and moving the food he'd cooked from the pan on to a plate. He went back over to Yoongi with the breakfast. "I gotta go. You have to eat this, okay? All of it, even if you think you're full. I'll see you later. Good luck today." Yoongi took the plate from Hoseok, and Hoseok placed a peck on his cheek before grabbing his things and rushing out of the house.

Air took a full minute to return to Yoongi's lungs. When he was able to breathe again, he decided to ignore what had happened and eat the food Hoseok had made as usual.

Quitting his job was easier than he thought it would be, since everythng was fast and clean. And when Yoongi walked out of that stuffy bar for the last time, he couldn't help but feel a wave of relief wash over him.

He got home late, and Hoseok was already sleeping again. Yoongi went into his room, and his good mood sank at the sight of Hoseok crying again. Yoongi decided he didn't like this depressing pattern. He nudged Hoseok's shoulder. "Hey, wake up."

Hoseok moved a little, but didn't wake up. Yoongi used his thumbs to brush away the fresh tears and shook Hoseok harder. "Wake up, Hoseok."

Hoseok's eyes opened finally, and he blinked a couple of times to see more clearly. "Yoongi?" Hoseok sat up and looked at the other expectantly. Yoongi sat on the bed across from him.

"Did you know you've been crying in your sleep?"

Hoseok frowned, looking down in concentration. "I have?"

Yoongi nodded. "Yes. Do you know why?"

Hoseok looked at the ceiling for a second. "Now that you say that, I think I was having a bad dream."

"What happened?"

Hoseok bit his lip. "Why do you want to know?"

Yoongi sighed. "Tell me, Hoseok."

The younger slouched down and avoided eye contact with Yoongi, who was getting both irritated and curious by the second. "You were there. I can't really remember the details, but I think you wanted to leave me."

Yoongi frowned. "And this made you cry?"

Hoseok seemed to get upset. "I don't know! It was a dream, it's not like I did it all on purpose or anything."

"You've been crying every night for three days in a row."

Hoseok looked up in shock. "What?"

"So you don't remember?" Yoongi asked. Hoseok shook his head.

"No. Is that why you were in my bed the first time?"

Yoongi ignored him. "Do you think this is their way of making us closer or something?"

Hoseok shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe..." his voice trailed off.

"What?"

Hoseok bit his lip and looked down, flustered. "Well, maybe not. I have this fear, sort of, that we won't be able to make this work, or you'll find out you don't like me. And it's not really like I would be able to do anything about it. Maybe that influences my dreams."

"If that happens, you could always do what you said before. Go around like normal and pretend you aren't married. If this doesn't work, I'm sure you'll find someone suited for you."

Hoseok shook his head. "No. I could never cheat on you... even if it isn't a real marriage, my conscious wouldn't let me. That's why I was so scared to get married to you. Because I didn't want to tie you down and make both of us unhappy. And there would be no getting out once we did it." Tears gleamed in Hoseok's eyes, and Yoongi wouldn't have noticed if he wasn't so observant. He scooted closer and pulled Hoseok into his chest. The other was shocked, but didn't pull away.

"You were willing to die every day? Hoseok, I don't mind being tied down. My life was a boring routine before you. Worst case scenario, we might not get along super well. But so far, everything's been going fine, right? And I don't know about you, but I don't think I've hidden anything about my personality. You know I get angry easily, and you've heard me swear. You were able to stand it, right? If you've been honest with me too, I don't see how things could change in the future. And if things do change, we'll figure it out." He had started petting Hoseok's head again without realizing it.

Hoseok sat up from his slumped position, pulling his forehead away from Yoongi's chest. Yoongi dropped his hands. Hoseok offered a small smile. "Thank you, Yoongi."

Yoongi stood up, realizing that his presence probably wasn't welcomed anymore. "Go to sleep, Hoseok," he said, starting to make his way to the door.

Hoseok grabbed at the hem of his shirt before he got too far from the bed, though. "Wait, Yoongi..." he said, and mentioned man turned around. "Could you stay? I think it might be easier to sleep that way. Unless it makes you uncomfortable."

Yoongi shook his head and climbed in with Hoseok. The other seemed to be shy again, so Yoongi took initiative and wrapped Hoseok in his arms. "Goodnight, Hobi."

He heard a whisper in return.

"Thank you."

Hoseok was bursting with excitement. When Yoongi walked through the front door, Hoseok was standing there, eager to tell him the news.

"Oh. Hi, Hoseok."

"The owner of the cafe I work at is retiring and wants to hand it over to me!" Hoseok blurted.

Yoongi pulled off his shoes with raised eyebrows, looking at Hoseok. "Wow. That's great."

"I know!" Hoseok couldn't stop his smile. They walked deeper into the house. "So now I don't need to get a new job! I'll still probably do most of the same thing. But I want to change the cafe a little bit."

Every morning, Hoseok would wake up early and head out to fix up the cafe. Yoongi wasn't sure exactly what he was doing because he was too busy to be able to visit, but Hoseok said it was just painting the walls and refurnishing so that the old cafe could look newer and more cozy. He still made Yoongi breakfast and made sure he ate through consistent texts throughout the day.

They didn't see each other often, but still knew the other's schedule by heart, and whenever Hoseok needed something, or the other way around, he knew exactly where to find him.

"Happy holidays, hyung!" said Hoseok, kneeling on Yoongi's bed and bouncing up and down, shaking Yoongi to wake him up. "It's snowing outside! It's snowing!" He climbed off and ran to his own room, speed-dressing into warm clothes. The snow wasn't heavy, and it barely covered the ground outside. But it was still beautiful as it fell, and was enough to excite Hoseok.

Others were taking care of the cafe, and since he'd worked so hard to improve it over the last month or so with barely any days off, they granted him a week long holiday. Yoongi's hours were not so concrete, but he had been able to take three days off during Hoseok's week off.

Hoseok ran back into Yoongi's bedroom, where the other was still laying face down in his mound of white pillows. Hoseok jumped on him, rolling over and pulling Yoongi with him. A groan escaped from Yoongi. "Come on, Yoongi! We have to do something together! Let's take advantage of the days you have off!"

Hoseok managed to get Yoongi out of bed and have him change. Because Hoseok was worried, the first thing they ended up doing was walking to the cafe and checking out how things were.

From the windows, Hoseok could see many customers inside trying to get a warm drink to survive the cold outside, but the staff seemed to be handling it well. They headed inside, and Hoseok bought a coffee for the two of them. The younger workers handling the store seemed surprised to see Hoseok, but they executed everything perfectly and Hoseok was treated like every other customer.

Yoongi and Hoseok then walked side by side down the street to the nearest park. Hoseok felt his right hand being grabbed, and when he looked over at Yoongi, he was looking away, sipping his coffee from his right hand as his left gripped Hoseok's. Hoseok smiled and swung their intertwined hands lightly.

The walk was quiet, with Yoongi never being one to talk, and Hoseok too focused on the scenery to start a conversation. Yoongi's hands were surprisingly warm, in contrast to Hoseok's freezing ones. They arrived back home right as the coffee was finished.

"Do you want to do something else?" asked Hoseok.

Yoongi shrugged. "I don't want to go out, if that's what you mean."

Hoseok nodded. "Okay. We can do something here." He gasped. "What if we cook dinner together today? Oh, that's perfect."

Yoongi looked at Hoseok. "And then watch a movie after dinner? A sad one where you can cry on my shoulder?"

Hoseok grinned mischeviously. "Sure, if you want." He stepped closer, placing his hands on both of Yoongi's arms. "Or a scary one where I need you to hold me close."

Yoongi didn't roll his eyes as expected, and instead shrugged. "Okay."

They drove to the supermarket and picked out all the ingredients needed. Yoongi pushed the cart as Hoseok ran around the store, chosing things and occasionally asking Yoongi which out of two he preferred. They went back home and started cooking. Yoongi did more than Hoseok expected him to do, and didn't doubt Hoseok when he said something the recipe didn't say to do. They worked well and efficiently together, and Hoseok was in a wonderful mood.

They made dessert, too. Hoseok told Yoongi to set the table as he worked on the presentation of the food. They made a seafood pasta and a small cheesecake. Hoseok brought the plates out to Yoongi, who was already sitting down. To his delight, Yoongi smiled when he saw the food.

"Wow, impressive. Thank you, Hoseok."

Hoseok smiled. They settled into a comfortable conversation with Hoseok doing most of the talking, but Yoongi not staying silent. The food was wonderful, and Hoseok enjoyed watching Yoongi smile as he ate.

As promised, they watched a movie after cleaning up. Instead of a sad or scary movie, however, they settled on an action movie that was popular. Neither of them liked it that much, though, and Hoseok kept zoning out while it played. He absent mindedly picked at the popcorn and leaned his head on Yoongi's shoulder.

Yoongi looked down at Hoseok. He didn't lean away, but didn't lean his head on Hoseok's, either. They rested like that, Hoseok exuding boredom and Yoongi not being much better. The movie ended, and Hoseok looked at the screen with an unsatisfied frown.

"Well, that was terrible," he said. Yoongi nodded in agreement. Yoongi took the empty popcorn bowl and put it in the dishwasher. "Do you want hot chocolate, Yoongi?" Hoseok asked.

"Okay," Yoongi said.

Hoseok made it fairly quickly, and judging by the darkness outside, it was pretty late. They sat at the table together, sipping hot chocolate. Yoongi didn't look at Hoseok, but could feel his eyes on him. Feeling a rush of confidence, Yoongi stood up, leaned over the table, and pressed their first kiss to Hoseok's lips. The other was surprised, he could tell, and he didn't stay long enough to do anything back. Yoongi pulled back and walked away from the table, into the kitchen with a smirk.

He finished the warm drink and started rinsing it when he felt Hoseok's hand on his shoulder. Yoongi turned to face him, and before he knew it, Hoseok was pushing his lips against his in a slow, sweet kiss. It was Hoseok who pulled away this time, with half closed eyes and glistening lips.

"How are you so good at kissing?" asked Yoongi.

Hoseok shrugged. "I don't know."

Their lips met again.

A few months later, Hoseok moved into Yoongi's bedroom. Every night, they fell asleep in each other's arms, and every morning, they woke up in them. Yoongi always got a kiss when Hoseok left for work (even though he never actually asked for it), and they found every excuse to do things for each other. Mostly Hoseok doing things for Yoongi and Yoongi doing whatever Hoseok asked for in return.

Flash forward a few years, and Hoseok's cafe was twice as popular than it'd been with the previous owner. Yoongi was extremely well known and made more than a sufficient amount of money.

And there was Taehyung and Jungkook.

It was the weekend, so both Hoseok and Yoongi were home. Yoongi was sleeping since he'd stayed all night at the company he worked at. Hoseok sat at the dining table, feeding the baby.

"Wus dis?" he asked, picking up a strawberry that was as big as his fist.

"That's a strawberry," Hoseok said, smiling.

"Stawbehwee."

Hoseok nodded. "Yes, that's right! Do you want me to cut it for you?"

"Yes."

Hoseok beamed at his baby and sliced the strawberry so it was easier to eat. He felt a tap on his arm, and turned to a six, almost seven, Jimin. Hoseok and Yoongi were watching him for the weekend.

"Yes, Jimin?"

"Can I watch TV?"

Hoseok nodded and set up the television for Jimin. He cleaned up Jungkook and set him down on the couch, next to Jimin. "I have to go take out the laundry. Can you watch Jungkook for a few minutes, Jimin? I'll be back."

Jimin smiled and nodded. As Hoseok was walking to the bathroom where the laundry machines were, Taehyung ran past. "Hi, Daddy!" he yelled before going into the living room. Hoseok smiled and continued on his way. Probably a minute passed before he heard crying and had to rush out back into the room. Taehyung was on the ground, crying, and Jungkook was standing a short distance away with an angry pout. Jimin was watching them emotionlessly from the couch.

"Oh, Jungkook, what did you do?"

"He hit Taehyung," said Jimin.

"Jungkookie, why did you do that?" asked Hoseok, frowning. They all heard footsteps coming down the stairs and then behind Hoseok.

"What is all this noise?" Yoongi stood beside his husband and put his arm around him, turning to look at Hoseok's face. "Oh, Jungkook. Look, you've made Daddy sad."

Jungkook rushed over on his short legs and hugged Hoseok's leg. "I'm sawee Daddy!" he cried.

Hoseok frowned. "You shouldn't apologize to me, Kookie. Who should you apologize to?"

Jungkook stepped back and thought about it, tapping his chin. When he realized who it was, he slumped down. "Tae Tae."

Hoseok nodded. "Do you know why?"

Jungkook shrugged. "Beecuz he's shad?"

"Why don't you ask him why he's sad?"

Jungkook padded over to his older brother and patted his hair. "Wai awe you shad, Taehyungie?"

Taehyung pouted. "Because you hit me."

"Did it huwt?"

Taehyung shook his head. "Not really. I just don't like it when you hit me."

"Why did Jungkook hit you, Taehyung?" asked Yoongi, now with both arms around Hoseok and his chin on Hoseok's shoulder.

Taehyung looked down sheepishly. "Because I said he's a baby."

"Why would that make him hit you?"

"Because he already said he doesn't like it when I say that."

Yoongi nodded. "That's right."

Taehyung grabbed Jungkook's hands. "I'm sorry, Kookie."

Jungkook smiled. "Itch okay hyung." He patted Taehyung's head again. Jungkook then noticed everyone looking at him expectantly. "I'm sawee too..?"

Hoseok smiled and shook his head.

"Jungkookie, I think it's time for your nap."

"Noooooo!"

"Yes. Come on. Dad and I will sleep next to you."

Jungkook's eyes widened in excitement and he lifted his arms to be carried. Yoongi picked him up and carried Jungkook up to his and Hoseok's bedroom. Hoseok looked at Taehyung and Jimin. Taehyung had sat down on the couch and put his head on Jimin's shoulder. He was playing with the older's small hands.

"You guys are okay?"

Jimin looked at Hoseok. "Yup!" Taehyung ignored his dad and kept playing with Jimin's hands. Hoseok smiled and walked to his bedroom.

Yoongi was already laying down with Jungkook in the middle of the bed, poking the baby's stomach. Jungkook let out sqeals of laughter that warmed Hoseok's heart. He climbed in beside Jungkook. Yoongi moved closer, sandwiching Jungkook between them, and held Hoseok's waist. He kissed Jungkook's forehead, who was already yawning.

"I love you, Kookie." He took Hoseok's hand and kissed it, too. "I love you, Daddy."

Hoseok smiled and closed his eyes, ready to fall into a deep sleep.

Yoongi woke to soft hands hitting his face. "Wake up," Jungkook whispered. Yoongi blinked and looked to his left, where Hoseok was still fast asleep. He looked back at Jungkook sitting on his chest. Jungkook climbed off the bed and walked to the door, where he was too short to reach the door handle. Yoongi got out of bed and opened the door for Jungkook, getting out of the room and closing the door quietly behind him.

When Hoseok woke up, he was alone in the bed. He rubbed his eyes and went outside to the living room. Yoongi was in the kitchen, cooking dinner, while Jimin and Taehyung were playing hide and seek with Jungkook. Hoseok went to Yoongi.

"I was going to cook today," he said.

Yoongi leaned over to kiss his cheek. "You were tired. It's okay, I don't mind."

Hoseok smiled. "I love you, Yoongi." This earned him another kiss on the cheek before Yoongi returned to cooking for the family.

"I love you so much."

a/n: Kind of a lame ending. Thank you so so so much for reading all the way to the end!! I tried really hard to update today, so that's why it's kind of crappy quality. I probably could have elaborated on a few of the scenes, but I was lazy and wanted to finish this. I didn't have much time to edit, so sorry for any mistakes.

Chapter 2: Awww, i was really worried because i understand hoseok's conflict of being with someone that loves you instead of being with someone kind of just because, but that ending was cute
