Chapter 4

From Mina: Jennie is in front of your house.

To Mina: She insisted on walking with me to school today.

From Mina: Oh. Okay.

To Mina: Where are you? I’m out of the house now.

“Good morning babe,” Jennie greets.

So, this is how it feels to have a girlfriend.

It feels good with a dash of cringe.

“Babe,” I say, then burst into laughter.

“I thought you were over it, we were calling each other that during our first date! And during phone calls! Text messages too!”

“It’s been like two days since we’ve gone official! I’m still not used to it, sorry babe.”

Soon, Mina comes out of the house.

“Mina!” I call.

She gives me a small smile and walks towards us shyly.

“Hi Mina, I’m Jennie, Rae’s girlfriend,” Jennie introduces herself.

Jennie seems like a rude person, so it’s amusing to realize that she isn’t.

She’s still a mystery to me.

“Nice to meet you,” Mina replies timidly.

“Let’s go?” I ask the both of them, in which they nod in response.

Figuring that Mina and Jennie wouldn’t talk at each other, I walk in the middle, Mina on my right, Jennie on my left.

Jennie suddenly grabs my hand, I gladly intertwine my fingers with hers.

No words are exchanged until we reach the school.

“I’ll just check on my friends, see you guys around,” Jennie excuses herself.

But before finally leaving, she kisses me on the cheek and whispers:

“See you later, babe.”

I would be lying if I say I didn’t get jitters from that.

This is fun.

I am currently texting Jennie. Hiding the phone under my table while the teacher writes something on the board.

To Jennie: Is it okay to have lunch with Mina?

From Jennie: Sure babe. But we’re gonna eat outside later, don’t really wanna come?

To Jennie: I have to pass, babe.

From Jennie: Okay babe. :c

To Jennie: You just said it’s okay now you’re sad about it.

From Jennie: It’s just that I already miss you, babe.

The teacher suddenly faces us, so I have to look up.

She gives us a seatwork then settles in her teacher’s table.

From Jennie: I want cuddles, babe.

From Jennie: Babe, can we meet right now?

From Jennie: Baaaaabe. I want to hug you. :C

. I can feel the cuteness in the text message.

To Jennie: Okay babe, 2nd floor comfort room, right now.

I slide my phone into the pocket and go to grab a hall pass from our teacher.

As I walk, I think of Jennie.

She’s such an interesting one, she has this bad girl aura but is actually very cute.

Jennie Kim isn’t such a bad idea.

I enter the comfort room and saw Jennie already sitting by the sink.

I walk towards her and as if on cue, she opens her arms and embraces me in a hug.

“Since I can’t have lunch with you, can I take you out later on a dinner?” she asks.

“Sure, babe,” I answer, not pulling away.

“Can we stay like this until the bell rings?” she asks.

I pull out from the hug and face her.

“I guess,” I answer following it with a smile.

She kisses me on the forehead, smiles at me sweetly.

Jennie Kim is such a sweetheart.

“Are you having fun?” she asks.

“I am. Are you?”

“Yep,” she answers. “Do you still like Mina?” she asks.

“Yes,” I answer truthfully. “I don’t think feelings vanish overnight.”

“They don’t. But I hope I’m helping you fill in the void,” she says.

Our eyes meet, her eyes are calming me.

She somehow feels like home.

“You’re very cute,” I blurt out mindlessly.

“I know,” she says with a smirk.

Why did I say that?

“I’m very thankful that Jisoo introduced you to us, to me,” she says.

“Same,” I tell her with a smile. “When Rosé told me that you guys are fine that I’m like this, I felt really relieved.”

Jennie hugs me once again, it makes me feel really accepted and loved.

“You should get back to your class now,” she says, breaking our hug.

We walk out together and go on our separate ways.

Upon arriving my room, the school bell rings.

My seatwork.

Mina stands up and walks at me, handing my seatwork full of answers.

“Buy me lunch to repay my kindness,” she says as she hands me the paper, drags me to pass it to the teacher and finally eat lunch.

“I would even buy you the whole canteen,” I tell her.

She smiles widely and I could feel my heart race.

Feelings really don’t vanish overnight.

From Jennie: Eat well, babe. :*

But I would gradually forget about it.

Then I would fall for her.

But would she love me back?

“What took you so long?” Mina asks, sandwich in hand.

“I pooped,” I lie.

It’s a lame lie, I know.

“Oh please,” Mina says annoyingly. “We already talked about secrets, Rae.”

“I just really want to piss you off, Pingu.”

“Well, you’re doing great,” she says, placing the barely eaten sandwich on the table. “Just tell me.”

“Jennie wanted to see me.”

“Ah,” she says, then rests her chin on the table after. “Continue,” she adds.

“So we meet in the comfort room.”

“And?”

“We hugged.”

“And?”

“That’s it”

“Are you happy?” she asks.

This is so out of the blue.

But Jennie asked me the same thing earlier.

“I am,” I answer truthfully.

I like the affection Jennie gives me.

I feel good around her, even before we dated.

Mina sits up properly after my answer.

“Do you want to go somewhere after school?” she asks.

“Can’t. Dinner with Jennie.”

The bell rings and we both stand up.

She doesn’t say a word on our way to the classroom.

I can’t tell if she’s pissed.

But if she is, should I be happy about it?

From Jennie: A few more classes. Can’t wait to hug you again, babe.

“I’ll walk you home,” I tell her.

“You have a dinner date with Jennie,” she says, her eyes never meeting mine.

“Fine, wait here.”

I walk towards Sana who is currently flirting with Eunha.

“Sana, can Mina tag along with you and Eunha on the way home?”

The two look at me questionably.

“Why? You guys in a fight?” Sana asks.

“No, I have a date.”

Now they’re staring at me with wide eyes full of shock.

“Oh well, in that case, we’re fine about it,” Eunha answers since Sana is too shaken to process.

“Thanks.”

I walk back to Mina who really just stood there.

“Tag along with Sana and Eunha on the way home,” I tell her.

“Sana? She’s on a different route.”

“Yeah but she walks Eunha home, don’t ask me why.”

“Isn’t she dating Tzuyu already? Or was it Dahyun?”

“She dates everyone for ’s sake”

She nods in agreement. Sana is a big flirt and everyone knows it.

But everyone’s okay with it. They still want to date her.

Well she’s y and cute all at the same time, can’t say no to that.

From Jennie: I’m waiting outside your room. :p

“Jennie Kim is outside!” a random girl named Chaeyoung squeals.

Mina leaves as soon as she heard my girlfriend’s name.

Sana and Eunha following suit.

To Jennie: Can we just meet at the main gate?

From Jennie: No, I’m already behind you.

I turned and I almost had a heart attack.

“Let’s go,” she says, her billion-dollar smile flashing before me.
