Chunji’s POV

 

I looked at the calendar and I sighed. Am I ready to leave L.joe?Then I heard a knock which come from the door.

‘Come in.’ I said in low tone. And it is no other than my best friend or in other word my crush since young.

‘Chunji ah, how are you?’ He asked while smiling.

‘Waiting for the day when my death comes.’ I replied. I noticed L.joe’s face expression changes. He sat at the corner of my bed.

‘Why are you saying those non senses? You’re recovering soon.’ He said as he patted my shoulder.

L.joe ah, I can’t live in this world and I don’t want to. Because both my parents leave me and you my only guy who I love never realize my true feelings. What can I do if I am on the world staying here? It is useless, L.joe ah.

‘Here, Ricky gave you a soup.’ He landed me a bowl of soup. I looked at him.

‘It is useless, L.joe ah.’ I said. He looked at me with tears.

‘If you consider me your best friend then you should at least drink it for me.’ He said as he forced me to drink. Best friend? See, I know he never realize my feelings. All he knows is best friend. I always want to confess my true feelings but I can’t… I can’t lose L.joe. I don’t want to ruin our friendship.

‘Thanks for caring me.’ I said. He smiled.

‘There, you look so cute.’ He said and pinched my cheek which gone red.

‘And say thanks to Ricky for sending me a soup.’ I said and he nodded.

'So how are you with your Mr. Love man?' L.joe asked. Oh yeah, today I should continue me with my Mr. Love man.

‘He said although I looked pale and weak his love for me is strong which I can recover.’ I said. L.joe smiled.

‘What a good sentence.’ L.joe exclaimed. I just nodded.

‘Lucky that I’ve someone who love me.’ I said. L.joe hit me.

‘Yah, what was that for?!’ I shouted.

‘I also love you, you pabo.’ He said. I smiled. You love me? Isn’t it because you pity me? L.joe ah, you won’t know my love for you is so much stronger than your love for me. Your love for me is just a friendship but not stronger than my love for you.

‘So, how are you with your little crush?’ L.joe asked, a little jealous.

‘Well, he still not realizes my feelings. What a pabo, right?’ I asked to him.

‘Yeah, he is a real pabo. Why can’t he realize my Chunji’s love?’ L.joe said playfully. Yeah, that’s right. You’re a real pabo, Byunghun ah. You’re so blind.

‘Oh yeah, I’ve got something to tell.’ L.joe said. I smiled.

‘Yunnie hyung proposed Jaejoongie hyung.’ L.joe said. Aw, what a cute couple.

‘Jongmal? Then they’re together now?’ I asked, excitedly.

‘Yep, they said they’ll come and visit you.’ L.joe said as he caressed my hairs.

‘I also want to be like them.’ I pouted.

‘You will become like them, someday.’ L.joe said.

‘But… I’ve no time.’ I said and looked down.

‘Who said, you’re recovering soon.’ He said as he leaned towards me and kissed on my forehead.

‘Now, go to sleep. Tomorrow you’re going to get your Mr. Love Man’s letter.’ L.joe said and I nodded.

‘Good night.’ He said as he left me.

‘Byunghun ah, wait.’ I called. He looked at me.

‘Jongmal Gomawo.’ I said. He smiled and tears in his eyes. God please, I don’t want to leave L.joe.

L.joe’s POV

I left Chunji alone in the room. I saw the doctor came towards me.

‘How is his condition?’ I asked. The doctor sighed.

‘There is no way to solve this problem. He is dying soon.’ The doctor said, hopelessly. My eyes went wide.

‘How could it be? He looks so fine now.’ I said, tears in my eyes. The doctor sighed.

‘We tried our best but…’ I cut off.

‘Okay, I don’t want to hear anymore. All I know is Chunji, he is recovering soon.’ I shouted as I ran out. Why? Why can’t I be with Chunji like Yunho hyung and Jaejoong hyung? Aren’t we soul mate?  I need him and I want him to be mine. But… all ruined. I still want him to know his Mr. Love man is me. And I still want to be with him and stay happily like Ricky and Changjo, tease to each other like Niel and C.A.P. but why?! Why can’t we be together?!  I walked to his room. I peek him from the outside. My Chunji, he is sleeping soundly in his bed. This cutie, he is leaving me very soon. I walked to him and put the love box with the love letter. And I bent towards him and kissed on his lips.

‘Good night, dear. I always want to kiss you on the lips with your permission. I love you, Chunji ah.’ I said as I wiped my tears.

‘I promise, I won’t let you go. I wish you a happy birthday tomorrow.’ I said as walked out. Chunji ah, I’m going make your 20^th birthday a surprise.

Chunji’s POV

I woke up as the sun rises. God, I am still alive.  I saw a letter from my Mr. Love Man, I smiled and picked it up.

Dear Chunji,

Happy Birthday, today is your 20^th birthday right? And like my older letters, I am gonna say I LOVE YOU. I won’t let you go and it is true. The next letter is the last letter for you. If you can’t figure who am I then I am sorry, I can’t be yours.

Clue for today : He is wearing black T-shirt with a blonde hair.

From: Your Mr. Love Man.

Oh god, he told me what he is wearing today. I am so excited to meet with him. Who could it be? L.joe? Ricky? Changjo? Niel or C.A.P?!  Then someone knocked my door.

‘Come in.’ I said.

‘Happy birthday, Chunji ah.’ It is no other than my beloved hyung Yunho, not my real brother. And Jaejoong hyung followed Yunho hyung.

‘Hyung I heard you’re dating Jaejoongie hyung.’ I said as YunJae blushes.

‘Hmm, yeah.’ Yunho hyung said.

‘Chunji ah, you looks like a chubby baby.’ Jaejoong hyung said as he pinched my cheek.

‘Hyung don’t tease me. I look so pale and so weak. How can I be chubby?’ I asked with a pout.

‘Chunji ah, we’re sorry that we can’t make anything for you.’ Yunho hyung said.

‘Aniyo, it is fine. Since I’m leaving you guys soon.’ I said as I wiped my tears quickly.

‘Yah, Lee Chanhee who said you’re leaving us?’ Yunho hyung asked, tears in his eyes. I smiled.

‘I am not letting you go, Chunji.’ Jaejoong hyung said.

‘I know but god is calling me.’ I said and forced a smile.

‘Okay, Chunji stop it. Stop talking about non sense. L.joe gonna cry.’ Yunho hyung said.

‘Wae? Why would be cry? Besides if I were gone, Sungjong is there for him.’ I said and prevent my tears coming out from my eyes.

‘Pabo, L.joe has an eye on you. Don’t you know that?’ Jaejoong hyung said which make my eyes widened.

‘Nahhh, stop kidding me hyung.’ I said.

‘That’s true, L.joe likes…’ someone cut off Yunho hyung.

‘Happy Birthday to you… Happy Birthday to you… Happy Birthday to our Chunji… Happy Birthday to you…’ L.joe, Ricky, Niel, Changjo and C.A.P sang as they carried the cake for me. I cried because of happiness.

‘L.joe ah, Ricky ah, Niel ah, Changjo ah and Minsoo hyung… Gomawo. You guys granted my last wish.’ I said. They smiled.

‘We’re your friend. We should at least do for you.’ Minsoo hyung said. I just nodded.

‘Chunji, Chunji get well soon. You’re going to sing with me right?’ Niel asked I smiled and nodded. But to my surprise, L.joe, he is wearing a black T-shirt and he is blonde. My eyes went wide. Is my Mr. Love Man is L.joe? Then L.joe came to me.

‘You’re recovering right?’ He asked. I just nodded. Then we spent my last birthday happily. Then suddenly,

*cough cough* I cough so loudly. All looked at me, worried.

‘Chunji ah, you okay?’ Yunho hyung asked.

‘Ne-neh… *cough cough cough*’ I said and blood come out from my mouth and nose.

‘Chunji ah. We should call doctor.’ Jaejoong hyung said.

‘Don’t, I am fine.’ I said.

‘No, you’re not fine.’ L.joe said.

‘Trust me, I am fine. Now, I want to sleep.’ I said. Now, my face is so white and my mouth is all red with blood.

‘I’ll take care of you.’ L.joe said.

‘Don’t. I think this is my last day.’ I said. I saw all crying L.joe hugging me so tight.

‘I am so happy that I get to know with you guys. L.joe, my best friend. Niel, my best singing partner in our school. Yunho hyung, who cares me a lot. Minsoo hyung, Ricky and Changjo my good friends. Jaejoong hyung, please take care my hyung. And lastly, my little crush… please say him that I love him so much.’  I said as I cried.

‘Yah, stop saying that again. You should sleep well to get well soon.’ L.joe said. I smiled.

‘L.joe, thanks for being my best friend.’ I said as I drifted to my dreamland.

L.joe’s POV

‘So we think we should go back. L.joe please take care of Chunji. If something strange, phone to us.’ Jaejoong hyung ordered. I just nodded.

‘We’re going.’ Ricky said as all of them went out leaving me with Chunji. I sat next to him. He is sleeping soundly. I slowly caressed his hairs and put my last letter to Chunj. Then I saw, star falling. I slowly close my eyes.

‘God please let Chunji to spend his last day with me.’ I said and I looked at Chunji who is sleeping soundly.

‘I wish he didn’t die tonight. I want him to happy.’ I said as my tears fall from my eyes and touched his face. I sobbed. Then I feel someone touched my hands. I looked at and it is Chunji, he looked at me weakly.

‘L.joe ah, why are you crying?!’ Chunji asked as he touched L.joe’s hands.

‘Chunji ah, are you okay?!’ L.joe asked.

‘L.joe ah, are you my… my Mr. Love Man?’ Chunji asked. There is a silent between them. And finally, L.joe nodded.

‘Yeah, I am. I am your Mr. Love Man. I love you, Chunji ah.’ L.joe said.

‘I feel so jealous when you talk about your little crush.’ L.joe said. Chunji chuckled.

‘Pabo, that is you L.joe ah.’ Chunji said as he hit L.joe’s head. L.joe smiled like an idiot.

‘Really?! Nado Saranghae.’ L.joe said as he leaned towards to Chunji and their lips met. They kissed gently and softly. After they kissed, L.joe broke the kiss.

‘I want to spend together my life with you.’ L.joe said. Chunji nodded.

‘L.joe ah, tomorrow is my last night. I want to Jeju island.’ Chunji said with a cute pout. L.joe smiled.

‘I’ll do whatever which will make you happy.’ L.joe said. But then,

*Cough Cough* Blood come out from Chunji’s nose and mouth.

‘Chunji ah, gwenhana?!’ L.joe asked, worried.

‘Don’t care me, we should go now.’ Chunji said.

‘Yahh, you’re in bad condition.’ L.joe scolds. Chunji smiled.

‘I just want to stay with you. L.joe ah, let’s go. I’m tired of staying in the hospital.’ Chunji said. L.joe looked at Chunji in a teary eyes but he do it in order to make his Chunji happy.

 

At Jeju Island

‘So beautiful…’ Chunji said as he walked down the shore. L.joe followed him.

‘I love it, L.joe ah. Isn’t this wonderful?’ Chunji asked. L.joe nodded. Chunji played the water with L.joe and they have fun together all the day. When it reached to evening,

*Cough Cough*

Chunji coughs so much and blood come out from both his nose and mouth non-stop. Chunji can see L.joe crying.

‘Chunji, are you okay?’ L.joe asked.

‘Ne, L.joe ah I hope you’re fine without me.’ Chunji said. L.joe cried.

‘Stop saying that, I am yours forever.’ L.joe said. Chunji sat down on the shore and L.joe sat next to him.

‘No, L.joe. I’ll wait you at the heaven. And I hope you will come to me when the time reaches but not now.’ Chunji said as he wiped L.joe’s tears.

‘L.joe do you know?’ Chunji asked.

‘What?’ L.joe asked.

‘You’re the most precious thing for me. I love you so much with all my heart.’ Chunji said.

‘Me too.’ L.joe replied. L.joe slowly leaned to Chunji and they kissed again when the sun is setting. Then Chunji break the kiss and he put his head on L.joe’s shoulder while looking the sunset.

‘I’ve to go now, God is calling me.’ Chunji said as he slowly close his eyes.

‘I’ll be waiting you in the heaven. L.joe ah, sarang… saranghae.’ Chunji said as he closed his eyes. L.joe tears are falling like river.

‘Nado Saranghae.’ L.joe said as his tears fall on Chunji’s face.

‘I hope you’ll happy. I love you so -’ Chunji closed his eyes forever. L.joe’s tears run out from his eyes.

‘Nado saranghae, CHUNJI AH, I LOVE YOU TOO. PLEASE WAIT ME, I WILL COME TO YOU. I LOVE YOU, CHUNJI AND IT IS TRUE.’ L.joe shouted and hugged his Chunji tight.

It is the funeral day and all of his friends are crying but L.joe who is not crying. He hold a boutique of flower and put it on his grave.

‘Chunji ah, I hope you’re fine at there. I will come to you and I promise.’ L.joe said as he looked at the sky. He saw Chunji smiling to him in the sky. He smiled back but tears falling from his cheek.

‘Saranghae, Chunji.’ He said to himself.
