016. Accident – Junhyung/Junhyung

I remembered swaying back and forth, my blazer hanging off my shoulders like a cape. My footsteps were wobbly but there was nobody around to see my current, pathetic state. It was too late, or too early for all I knew, for anyone to help me. I couldn’t tell you the time even if it was staring me right in the face. That’s how drunk I was, that’s how much I was looking for trouble. I needed to stop drinking but consequences of my actions never crossed my mind at the time.

My car was a feet away but it felt like ages before I finally reached it. My hand dug through my front pocket of my jeans for my car keys only to find out that I had it in my other hand. Chuckling, I struggled to stick the key into the door of my car to unlock it. Getting it into the ignition was twice as hard.

There was no traffic yet, the stop lights were still on and fully functional. I blew a red light or two, thinking they were a different color. No cops came after me but there’d be tickets waiting for me to pay in my mailbox in front of my house soon enough.

“I-I shouldn’t have had that last w-whiskey.” I let out a small hiccup, jerking the wheel in my hands.

Turning the corner, my grip on the steering wheel slackened. My foot pressed down on the gas stupidly. My actions were uncontrollable, my senses blurred by the effects of the alcohol. All I wanted was another new high to get my blood rushing and my heart pumping. My car sped straight for a tall light post. My senses screamed to step on the break but my body didn’t listen.

Crash!

Within seconds my car became totaled with me in it. Within minutes my eyes closed for their final rest.
