“Bona!”

I grabbed on to Bona’s shoulder as I tried to catch my breath from all the running. Bona turned to face me, a bit surprised by my sudden approach.

“Eunseo? What’s wrong? And where is Cheng Xiao?”

After Cheng Xiao had told me everything about the gumiho, we both rushed to where Bona was. Cheng Xiao and I saw that Bona was waving goodbye to some stranger. I ran towards Bona while Cheng Xiao chased after the stranger. I was so worried. What if that stranger was the gumiho in disguise?

“Who was that, Bona? Did she hurt you?”

“Eunseo! I lost her. She disappeared in the crowd. Are you okay, Jiyeonie?”

“What are you guys talking about?”

“That lady that you were talking to just a moment ago, who was she?”

“Oh! You mean that tourist? I didn’t really get her name. We were just fawning over the foxes.”

“Did she give you anything, Jiyeonie? Like a candy or something?”

“Candy? No. She did give me some seaweed though. Why? You guys are being weird.”

“Thank goodness! Don’t ever talk to strangers ever again, Bona.”

I hugged Bona. Bona was still a bit puzzled by our actions but she still hugged back. Cheng Xiao just averted her gaze away from us. After a good while, I pulled back from the hug and gave Bona a smile.

“It’s getting late, Jiyeonie. Let’s just call it a day.” Cheng Xiao stated.

“Okay, Seongso. But before we go home, let’s go find some place to eat.”

We started walking towards one of the restaurants in the theme park. Bona ended up choosing a European-style café. It had this big terrace where you can have an amazing view of the four season flower garden right below. They also had a lot of sweet desserts and beverage to offer. Cheng Xiao picked out a table to sit on just by the terrace.

“The both of you just sit here while I order something for us.”

“Are you sure, Eunseo? I mean this is a European-style café.”

“Yeah! Don’t worry, Bona. I got this. Right, C?”

I had this hand pistol thing going on with Cheng Xiao and gave her wink.

“Yes, E!” Cheng Xiao replied with a giggle and just winked back at me.

I gave both Cheng Xiao and Bona a smile right before I turned and started walking towards the counter. The counter was a bit far from where we were seated and the café was kind of packed that night. Cheng Xiao just kept staring at me with a smile on her face as I got to the counter and tried to decipher what was written on the menu.

“Seongso, is there something going on between you and Eunseo?”

This made Cheng Xiao snap out of her thoughts and turned to look at Bona who was now waiting for a reply.

“What do you mean, Jiyeonie?”

“You’ve been so hot and cold ever since you got back especially when Eunseo is around.”

“It’s nothing, Jiyeonie.”

Cheng Xiao just averted her gaze and started playing with the napkin on top of the table.

“Seongso… yesterday… back at the apartment, I sort of overheard your conversation with Eunseo at the bathroom.”

“Why didn’t you tell me anything about this?”

“Do you seriously think that I still have any obligation to tell you where I am, update you on what I’m doing anytime of the day and answer all of your questions?”
