Unlike Taemin, Kai was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He lived in a hut near the woods with his father. He picked up a gun at the age of seven whereas Taemin picked up his first book at that same age.

Taemin was sitting on his front house staircase, reading his first novel at the age of ten. He spread it open on his lap while he was enjoying his meat pie. Up in the sky, there was a hungry crow that was searching for food. When it spotted the meat pie it increased its velocity, its claws spread wide. At this moment, Taemin was still oblivious of the danger he was in. He turned to the last page of his book. When suddenly he realizes something was blocking his light and the shadow was getting closer and closer. He raised his head to see if it was the cloud. Though it was already too late for him, the boy could only tremble in fear like a helpless prey. He stared at the hungry-eyed crow as it was just getting closer and closer-

Bang

Suddenly, a loud gunshot was heard, the crow's body crashed onto the ground making a thudding noise.

Kai smiled slowly. That was the day when Kai first hunted with his gun and successfully shot his prey down.

The other boy sighed in relief but he quickly smiled.

"That was marvelous!"  He quickly puts down his book then walked up to him.

"What?" Kai asked in a confused manner.

"I meant what you did just now, it was insane." He reached his hand out. "Taemin."

"Kai." He looked at him oddly, feeling quite uncomfortable at first.

"Kai, would you want to come over and join the dinner with my family tonight?" Taemin asked excitedly.

Kai replied reluctantly as he grabbed the hawk by its legs and headed home. "Sure."

Kai's father was liting some candles that formed a large circle around their hut. Kai remembers it was his missing mother's anniversary today. He has a very little memory of his mother. All he knew was that his mother left him and his father one day. He heard the rumor about how his mother was a witch and he was bullied by the neighborhood's children that he was the son of a witch. He had no idea what a witch was, so he never knew why everyone hated him.
