Description

Kyungsoo experienced his first crush, but being the socially awkward twenty-five year old, love wasn't going to come easy for him, so he decided to get some help.

Foreword

Kyungsoo was always the shy kid growing up. Even when he received his master’s degree and became the CEO of Do’s Electronics, he was still known as the awkward little turtle with a timid voice.

Now that he was twenty-five, his parents had been nagging for him to let loose, to stop working overtime on the weekends, and to find someone he can share his present and future with.

The thought never really occurred to him until he met someone by the name of Park Chanyeol, the tall, devilishly handsome owner of a hipster bakery just down the street from where he lived.

But being the awkward, shy, forever-single inexperienced man that he was, he knew he had to get help, or he’d be considered the awkward, shy, forever-single, inexperience and rejected man.

As if fate decided to throw him a bone, he found just the ad that did it: Whispering Cupid, where help is just a whisper away.

As soon as he got home, Kyungsoo started up an account on the website and ordered the full services. Being charged two grand was nothing for Kyungsoo, and knowing that he needed all the help he can get, he had to make the investment.

A ping on the screen of his laptop made him jump, but he immediately let it pass as he opened the message.

WhisperingCupid: Hello, AwkwardTurtle112. I have read your dilemma and have accepted your request. The equipment that you will need will be sent to you promptly. By tomorrow, we shall commence with the operation to catch Mr. Tall and Handsome.

Kyungsoo found himself smiling with dreamy thoughts of finally getting Chanyeol’s attention.

Let's hope this works.

By sunset the next following day, Kyungsoo heard the doorbell of heaven. He had run down the stairs so fast that he literally tripped and rolled over thin air before stumbling to get to the door.

“Do Kyungsoo?”

Breathing heavily, Kyungsoo nodded his head shyly with strands of messy hair sticking out, and peered at the delivery boy.

“Here’s your package. Please sign here.”

After doing just that, Kyungsoo walked over to the sofa and opened the tiny box. Inside were two devices: a tiny microphone that camouflaged as a button and a flesh-toned earpiece.

Noticing the dim blinking light emitted from the earpiece, Kyungsoo quickly inserted into his ear as well as pinning the ‘button’ to the corner of his collar.

“H-Hello?” Kyungsoo spoke and felt silly for even doing so. Like someone was actually there.

“Hello to you too.” A smooth, playful voice answered back, making Kyungsoo scream a bit.

“I…” Kyungsoo rubbed the sweat off his forehead. “S-Sorry, I didn’t realize someone was on the other line.”

“No worries,” the man chuckled before getting to business. “So, Kyungsoo, are you ready to sweep your man-candy off his feet?”

“No,” Kyungsoo answered honestly before realizing what he just said and adding, “I mean y-yes! Yes, of course. That’s why I paid for this.” He muttered gently. Could he be anymore embarrassing?

“Yes, that’s why you paid for this. I’m here to help, and I won’t give up until my job is complete. Just to lessen your worries, I have a hundred percent success rate, so you’re in good hands.”

“O-okay,” Kyungsoo breathed deeply. He had to get out of his shell. To have the man of his dreams, he needed to do this. “Okay, let’s do this.”
