"We arrive at 7PM if there are no flight delays then we go the hotel then straight to your interview. After that you have a tux fitting for the gala the next day but we can squeeze in a bit of time to meet up with--- Are you listening to me?"

“Huh?” Siwon said without even looking up from his phone

“What’s with you? You've barely looked up from that thing since we checked-in” asked his manager

“어 미안, 형 (oh sorry, hyung)” Siwon said

He sighed as he glanced back at his phone and tucked it in his back pocket. He kept scrolling through his messages leaving them on “read”.

It was the usual, check-in luggage; pass through security and immigration, waiting for take-off. Riding planes has been like riding a cab for Siwon especially with his quick rise to fame with his acting career. This time he was going to New York to attend the Met Gala then right after he has to fly back for a film shooting. It was tiring but he didn't think much of it since it was part of his job.

With his carry-on in tow, he stood on the walkalator while looking at his phone again. His manager was behind him on the phone as well. Suddenly Siwon's phone rang and he accidentally accepted the call.

“I'm still at Incheon. Look, can we talk about this when I get there?”

He ended the call and put the device back in his pocket. He continued walking straight without looking at anything else but the end. His manager walked quickly after him to catch up.

He walked a bit faster because he was about to reach the end.

"AH!"

“어 최성해요 (oh I’m sorry)!”

Because Siwon had a lot on his mind and he was only looking straight, he accidentally bumped into a member of the airport staff who was now sitting on the floor with one shoe missing. Siwon panicked as he helped her up and looked around for her other shoe.

“That was so embarrassing” she thought without trying to make eye contact

Her face was bright red as she noticed the people looking at her but not offering to help her up. Siwon grabbed her arm and helped her stand. As soon as she was on two feet, she had to tiptoe on one foot to keep her height with a missing heel.

She dusted off her skirt and frowned. She felt so humiliated because her jacket was ripped. Siwon found her shoe a few feet away and ran to get it. He went back to her and handed it to her.

“I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking” he kept on apologizing

“No, it's my fault. I wasn't looking either” she said while still looking down

Siwon noticed the clipboard that was on the floor. He picked it up and gave it to her while she put on her shoe but the heel was broken.

She couldn't look him in the eye out of humiliation. She got the clipboard from him and thanked him.

"시원아 (Siwon-ah)! We have to be at the Gate in 15 minutes!" his manager shouted from a few feet away

“Coming!” he shouted back

He looked back at her and took out his phone.

“I'm sorry but I have to catch this flight and I need to repay you for your shoes. Give me your number; I'll give you a call when I get back” he explained

“괜찮습니다 (it's fine). You don't have to” she answered

“Please, I insist” he said trying to hurry her up

He was being very pushy and he had to run so she just gave in. She wrote down her number on a piece of paper from her clipboard, ripped it off and gave it to him. Without even looking at it, he tucked it in his pocket and apologized again.

As soon as she looked at him, she almost lost her balance. She was stunned at how clean-cut he looked; it was like he came out of a storybook. He was wearing a light grey body fit shirt and dark blue jeans with a beanie. She had to stop herself from staring.

“I'm Siwon by the way, 최 시원 (Choi Siwon)” he said with a smile as he extended his hand to shake hers

“I...I… I'm Saera...리 새라 (Ri Saera)” she nervously replied, slowly shaking his

“It’s nice meeting you Saera. Again, I'm sorry about the shoe” he said

Before she could say anything, he already ran off to his manager who was waiting for him with a phone strapped to his ear.

“What was that?” his manager asked

“Nothing, I bumped into her and her heel broke. I offered to buy her a new pair” Siwon explained

“Sounds like a good start to a drama” the other said with a laugh

They both ran off to their gate while Saera took off her other shoe and limped her way back to the duty-free store where she was working.

"괜찮아 (are you okay)?"

Eunkyung, Saera's co-worker and friend at the store helped her sit down. She didn't see what happened because she was busy with a customer.

“I'm fine, it's just my shoe broke. Do you have an extra pair?” Saera asked as she limped

“You know I'm always prepared” her friend said with a smile

She got her bag from under the counter and gave the extra flats she had to Saera who was rubbing her injured hip.
