ACT 1 SCENE 3

-HIGH SCHOOL-

Chae Young:  Oppa…  

Jungkook:  Yes?

Chae Young:  Do you think I’ll end up with someone similar to you?

Jungkook:  [laughs] Of course! [ruffles her hair]  You’ll be with someone even better than me, I promise.

Chae Young:  [She sticks out her pinky] Pinky Promise.

Jungkook:  You’re too cute.

Chae Young:  [she blushes]

Chae Young:  Dad, no please dad!  Don’t! [SLAP!]

Chae Young was 15 when her mother passed away, before that her life was just as great as any average kid’s life can be.  One day, Chae Young had a recital, her mother drove to Chae Young’s recital with her father, with flowers in the back seat and proud smiles on their faces but unfortunately, they had gotten into an accident, which caused her mother’s life and caused her father’s left arm, her life fell apart.  After her mother’s death, her father started drinking and drinking and drinking, more and more.  Day after day, and because of his drinking habits, he’d come home and abuse Chae Young.  Blaming her that she was the reason why her mother had died, making her feel guilty with every slap that he makes, with every dirty words that comes out of his mouth.  

-HIGH SCHOOL-

Chae Young:  Oppa! [waves and smiles at Jungkook]

Jungkook:  Ah, Chae Young-ah..

Chae Young:  What are you doing?

Jungkook:  Homework. I’m pretty busy right now, I have an exam tomorrow morning, so if you can, please don’t disturb me. [he looks back at his books]

Chae Young:  I know, Jungkook…  I’m in the same class as you… [disappointed, then she smiles brightly] AH!  Why don’t we study together??  That’d be fun!

Jungkook:  [looks at Chae Young, annoyed] Chae Young-ah, don’t do this, not today. (a/n:  BTS- NOT TODAY!!!!)

Chae Young:  [she nods, sadly] Sorry…  [Jungkook looks back his books]  I’ll just…  I’ll just leave then…  [she turns around] After you finish, call me. [he nods and she forces a smile and leaves.]

Two days fly by with no communication.  Jungkook walks to Chae Young's house and saw Chae Young laying on her doorstep.  He runs towards her and lifts her up.

Jungkook:  Chae Young-ah…  Chae Young-ah…  [he carries her (bridal style) and takes her to the hospital in a taxi]  Help!  Help!  She’s unconscious, please help her.  [he said to the nurses]

Nurse:  Where’s your parents?

Jungkook:  Mine…? Oh, wait!  [he calls his parents and tells them the situation, just a couple of minutes they arrived at the hospital, filled out papers and waited for Chae Young.]

The nurses and a doctor came out to talk to Jungkook and his parents.  After the discussion, they went inside her room.  She was sleeping soundly.

Jungkook:  I neglected her…  

Mother:  Jungkook-ah…  You can’t blame yourself…

Jungkook:  I ignored her…  I left her because I was too focus on something even though I knew something like this could happen to her, I knew that she needed me but I didn’t bother because I was too busy…  

Father:  It’s okay, now son..  She’s okay now…  [Jungkook nods and sits down next to Chae Young, holding her hand.]  

His parents sits besides the bed and waits for Chae Young to wake up.  The next morning, Jungkook goes to the restroom to wash up.

Jungkook:  Mom, dad, you guys should go home, I’ll stay here.  If the doctors discards her then I’ll call you back. [his father nods and hand in hand, his parents walks out of the room.]

Mother:  Make sure you have breakfast. [Jungkook smiles and nods.]

A couple of hours later, Chae Young opens her eyes and sees a figure standing by the window, trying to open the curtains.  

Chae Young:  That’s not how you do it.  [catching Jungkook by surprise, he falls on couch by the window, making her giggle.  He smiles brightly]

Jungkook:  You’re awake.

Chae Young:  Did you think I was going to die?

Jungkook:  Kind of…  [Chae Young gives him that stare, he laughs.]  I’m kidding. [she smiles]  How am I supposed to do this anyway?

Chae Young:  You see that stick at the corner?

Jungkook:  This? [pointing at the stick]

Chae Young:  Yeah, twist it, the curtains will open and then pull it to the left. [Jungkook tries it and succeeds.

Jungkook:  Awesome! {daebak!  Chae Young laughs]  

He walks up to Chae Young and sits down next to her with a serious face.

Chae Young:  What?

Jungkook:  I’m sorry…

Chae Young:  For?

Jungkook:  For leaving you alone.  [Chae Young slightly smiles]

Chae Young:  It’s okay, I know you just wanted to focus on your studies, it’s fine.

Jungkook:  If I had just focused on you a little more than I should be, this wouldn’t have happened, I could’ve taken you in and you could’ve been with me instead of outside of your house, freezing.  [Chae Young grabs Jungkook’s hand, taking him by surprised]

Chae Young:  It’s okay, look aren’t I perfectly fine? [she pulls his hand to touch her face but he pulls away]

Jungkook: [laughs] Yeah, you’re fine.  Did you want water?  Food?  Treats?  Snacks? I’ll go and get it for you.  [he walks away and she frowns]
