It's hard when you have nowhere to go and no one to turn to, so when someone offers you a hand, you take it... But what happens when that offer leads you down a darker route than you could ever imagine? Where do you go when you have nobody to turn to and all you want to do is escape?

When everybody gives up on you before you can even prove you're worth something, you tend to lose faith in the world. Faith is what keeps us alive, faith that things may change, that they might get better, and without faith, we lead ourselves down a path that is hard to come back from. That is what happened to Jeon Jungkook. What he did, he would remember forever, and whatever he did, he could never forget, he could only move on.

But where do you go when you have nobody to turn to?

Plagued by what he has done, Jungkook goes to the one place where he can make right everything he has done wrong, a place where his past won't be able to follow him, but is the army a place he can finally call safe?

Jungkook
Orphaned at a very young age and never found a good foster home. The story will be written from his point of view.

He's fairly outgoing and cares only for certain people. Self preservation is pretty important to him and he doesn't trust people easily.

Kai
Comes from a very rich family, but joined a gang because he couldn't put up with the expectations his parents had, almost as a sign of rebellion. He is also one of the first members recruited by the gang Jungkook is part of because he was close friends with the leader and is his right hand man.

He's quiet and fairly narcissistic and expects people to listen to him. He's rough around the edges but really cares.

Jr
He used to be a part of various different gangs but mostly for the kick it gave him. He got tired of it after a while and decided to leave and having no other good job prospects as he had spent more time in the corridors than in the class rooms in school, joins the army.

He's a bit of a joker, and lives out that fun childhood he missed out on as a kid, but can be depended on to be serious when needed. He makes friends easily because of this.

Mark
His father was a war hero during the Korean war but died when Mark was young. Mark wanted to continue his legacy and joined the army as well. He was made to look after Jr's training group when Jr joined and the two became good friends. He's worry.

He's quiet and authoritative, expecting his team to follow his orders, and is level headed. He can be almost too serious at times and is often dependent on JR to keep him grounded.

Minho

He's Jungkook's best friend and also part of the gang. His father is a drunkard and a gambler and wastes all the money they have and his sister is still in school which is why he joins the gang, in hopes of being able to get money to provide for his sister quickly. Even so, he doesn't like the idea of being in a gang and often had to battle with his morals.

He's friendly but very reserved. He opens up to Jungkook and sees him like a little brother.

IU

She's Minho's sister. She's five years younger than Minho, two years younger than Jungkook.

She's extremely caring and loves her brother more than anybody else, although Jungkook comes a close second.

Hey guys :) this is my first ever time writing a story, not just here, but anywhere, so go easy on me if you can :) These are the only characters you need to know right now, but I'll add the rest when I need to. The story will rely a lot on flashbacks and a few flashforwards, but hopefully it won't be too confusing- it will all make sense as the story goes on :) I hope you like it XD
