His Unanswered Call
His Unanswered Call
Even though I know you how much how much you hate it, I can’t do anything but this
In front of your door, just idly waiting
Even though I’m so miserable, it’s better than losing you
I can’t lose you, so I stay near you, in front of your door waiting
With much remorse, Seulong felt his insides crush. They crushed right over his heart. He couldn't tell how long he had been sitting there mindlessly. He was waiting for her yet she never came down for him. He wanted to go up there but he knew that she was mad at him. He missed her. Whether it was the sound of her voice, the way her hair fell perfectly onto her shoulders, the look of determination she had in her eye every time she tried something new; he was in love with all of it but yet he had none of it now.
You who won’t answer my calls anymore, you who doesn’t want to see me at all
No matter how I beg for forgiveness, there’s already no use
Waiting by your door, even if you pretend you can’t see me
He couldn't tell you how long he had been sitting there. Sitting there in the lobby of hotel of where she decided to reside. He had never made such a mistake that had made him feel such sorrow. His friends had warned him not to go too far, he didn't listen, now he pays the price. The clothes he wore were dirty, crumpled on his limp figure. Something kept him there though. His closest friend Changmin couldn't decide what was that reason. Why could he not let go? It was because he was in a state of denial. Denial that kept him planted onto the cold, hard tile waiting for someone who would never come to him again.
Brushing past my shoulder like seeing a stranger you just met
Waiting until you are willing to hear me say sorry
Looking at my phone ten times a day, even jumping at the slight sound
To find out if you had sent me a text message
It had happened many times before. Somehow he, Seulong, felt that this spat was much more than he had originally fathomed. He wished he had never yelled, that he had never said anything to begin with. Changmin and his friends had wished the same for their friend was not the same person he was before. The way that he stood by his cellphone day and night scared them. They hated to hear the sounds of his cries as he called out her name incessantly. His vocal cords were dry, sore--not feeling rest until he fell asleep one night from lack of recuperation.
At first, at first, I thought like normal fights you would come back
Because you’re such a nice girl you wouldn’t be so cruel to leave me
You who won’t answer my calls anymore, you who doesn’t want to see me at all
Seulong looked around with tired eyes, his hand clutching his phone tightly as per usual. His gaze grazed over each person who passed him. Deep inside he hoped that one of those people would be her but he always got the same answer when he called her phone. "This number has been disconnected." He didn't know why. Had he messed up to a point where he was dead to her? That couldn't be. Not in their three years of dating had she ever done something so cruel before.
No matter how I beg for forgiveness, there’s already no use
Waiting by your door, even if you pretend you can’t see me
Brushing past my shoulder like seeing a stranger you just met
Waiting until you are willing to hear me say sorry
With a final sigh of pity for himself, he stood up and marched towards the elevator. It came at such a slow pace that he thought that it would never come. When it did, it felt like yesterday that he was going to visit her in her new room that she had spent months to earn enough money to rent out. He had offered to let her live with him but she grately declined for the time being. The ride up was silent except for the small noise that the mechanical machine made as it transported the young man from one floor to another. It dropped him off to face tape. Yellow tape with Seoul's police symbol printed onto the yellow rubbery material. That is when it came to him.
There no longer was a Shin Min Ah.
