Chapter 17

He was running, the corridor dark and eerie. He can hear the loud sound of his foot steps echoing. He turned around a corner, not sure where he was going, but he knew he had to run. The lighting was so poor he could barely see the end of the hall, if there even was an end. It felt like he's been running forever. His throat felt sore, as if he was screaming, but he couldn't hear the sound of his voice. He reached the end, the corridor split in two and he just took the right turn without thinking. He in a breath, but didn't feel his lungs inflate with air, chest constricting. He could feel tears welling in his eyes and he honestly just wanted Jungkook, but he couldn’t find him anywhere. No matter how fast he ran, no matter which turn he took or how loud he screamed, Jungkook was gone and he was all alone and he just couldn’t-

“Jimin!”

Jimin’s eyes shot open as he in a shaky breath, disoriented. He looked around frantically until snapping fingers made him focus on Jungkook hovering above him.

“Shh, shh, it's ok baby” Jungkook cooed as he wiped away at his cheeks, Jimin didn’t even realize he was crying. “It was just a bad dream pumpkin.”

Jimin’s body was shaking slightly, tears still pooling down his face. “Daddy” he sobbed out weakly.

Jungkook's face etched with worry, he cradled Jimin to rest on his chest as he laid back down. “Daddy's here baby love, I got you. You’re ok it was just a dream.”

His heart ached at the tiny sobs that were muffled in his shirt, whatever Jimin saw must of scared him. He tried his best to sooth him, rubbing his back gently and cooing soft words in his ear. Though Jimin soon stopped crying, he still didn't seen settled enough to go back to sleep.

“Do you wanna tell Daddy what happened sweetpea?” Jungkook whispered.

Jimin sniffled, nuzzling into his chest before speaking softly “I couldn't find Daddy...Daddy was gone.”

Jungkook frowned, cuddling Jimin closer as he kissed the crown of his head “Daddy is right here baby boy, Daddy will always be with you.”

They spent a few minutes cuddling close, Jungkook whispering promises and words of love until an idea came to him. “Should Daddy sing to you baby?”

Jimin nodded, clutching tightly to Jungkook's shirt.

“Ok baby” Jungkook shifted to get more comfortable, before his soft melodic voice sounded into the room.

Ain't never felt this way

Jimin gasped softly at the words, it was their favorite song.

Jungkook reached a hand under the pillow, pulling out Jimin's pacifier, pushing it gently between the boy's lips. Jimin led happily, eyes immediately drooping tiredly.

Mad cool in all my clothes 
Mad warm when you get close...to me 
Slow dance these summer nights 
Our disco ball's my kitchen light

Jungkook nuzzled his nose against Jimin’s, giving him a gently eskimo kiss as he sung the words.

Jimin looked up at him dreamily, Jungkook looking into his eyes lovingly.

Jungkook Jimin's cheek gently as he watched his eyes close slowly, breathing evening out.

Jungkook kissed the forehead of the now sleeping Jimin, his face looking so peaceful, complete contrast to earlier.

“I'll always be by your side” he whispered into the other’s hair.

He wrapped both his arms securely Jimin, giving his forehead a final kiss before closing his eyes to fall into a peaceful sleep.
