As soon as she heard what he had said, Seorim frowned. She wanted to talk but Taehyung had prevented her from doing so. She tugged on Taehyung’s arm to take his hand off , but he only did so after telling her to be quiet.

She gasped for air when he finally brought his hand down – but the other one was still on her shoulder to keep her close to him. “What did you just say to me? We’re lost? What are-“

“Shh!” Taehyung hushed her down with his index finger over his lips. She was about to speak again but wasn’t able to when he had suddenly pulled her near the window. Using his strength a little, he forced her to crouch down below the window without a word. Seorim felt lost at the moment while he sneakily peaked inside the house through the window.

What was there to be curious about anyway? It was their home. They knew what was inside.

But she couldn’t help but feel curious too. Right when she was about to stand up, she was pushed back to her position earlier. Taehyung left her no choice but to obey him and crouched down as she was told to.

“What is it?” She carefully asked the male, who had joined her below the window.

His mouth was slightly ajar and he made no movement at all. “Hey,” Seorim waved in his face since he was staring at her without realizing . Her attempt was a success as he blinked his eyes in bafflement. Confusion was written all over his face.

“What are we doing here?” The girl asked once again, waiting for an explanation expectantly.

The male gave no response. He had no idea what to do or what to say at the moment. Never once did he expect that Seorim would actually ever be with him in this situation. He did imagine this scenario before. But now that it was happening, nothing came up in his mind.

“Uh,” He began, “let’s not be here first”

“What?”

“I mean, let’s h-hide. We can’t be seen for now.” With that, he brought her up on her feet and both of them stood up. Next, he was dragging her all the way to the backyard with while holding her hand tightly. It was dark and Seorim almost couldn’t see anything. Unlike her, the latter was again marching forward like he knew the way like the back of his hand. He didn’t hesitate taking another step and also managed to avoid stumbling upon a vase in the dark. On the other hand, Seorim always accidentally stumbled on things that she wasn’t supposed to – such as the back of Taehyung’s shoe. Luckily, Taehyung didn’t fall over because of her. She had lost her footing a few times and barely had saved herself from falling.

Soon they were already at the back of the house. The place she that she lived in felt bigger when she had ran from the front door all the way to the back door.

Before them was the very back door that led to the kitchen. She had always been on the other side of the wooden door. But by chance, she was able to view it from another angle. Was this how the door looked like from outside?  Seorim couldn’t help but gawk at it for a moment.

Taehyung opened the door and made sure no one was in the kitchen. When he confirmed that nobody was there, both of them silently snuck into the kitchen.
