Honey Voice

Honey Voice

Minho found himself once again going to school early for no apparent reason other than to catch a glimpse of the very same guy. He didn’t know his name, his age, or even his class and year, he did know his schedule though. He knew when he arrives on each day of the week and also leaves, making sure to be there at the time so he can catch sight of him.

Minho has always been outgoing, not worrying about speaking to people first, but this guy was making wonders to him. He couldn’t get word out when he was trying to speak to him, his whole body and mind had frozen still, it embarrassed him greatly and he didn’t want to risk making fool of himself any more than that, the reason he hasn't attempted anymore. That was why he has just observed him from far away, he still couldn’t get out the very first day he’s seen him.

It was day as any other, apart from the fact that Minho had to go to school a little bit earlier than normally. He did curse about it at that time but when he’s had met the guy, he had thanked the professor in his mind. He still can’t forget that dazzling smile the other offered him when he has seen him making fool of himself by wandering around lost looking for the lecture room. The smile was so bright he was sure he’d go blind if it lasted any longer. Minho couldn’t move an inch as the guy with the brunette hair passed by with some of his friends. He must have stood there for a good five minutes dazzled and enchanted since he was almost late to the lecture.

From that day on, he has always hanged around the very same spot from the moment the school started until it ended (apart from his classes) so he could see him again. That was how he learned his schedule by heart, his parents were wondering why he was going so early to school since he was no early bird but they assumed he was in love or something and didn’t question him.

It has already been more than two weeks but he still didn’t know anything more about that special guy. Minho was starting to be desperate so he (although with dread) asked Key, his friend and know-it-all, about him. He was prepared for the upcoming teasing his friend so loved to annoy him with. What he didn’t expect was for him to almost drop his jaw to the floor, it made Minho incredibly self-aware and embarrassed to say the least. It wasn’t something he would have felt at other times but with the guy in the picture it was as normal as breathing now.

Key was still shocked to his core and Minho had to shake with him a little to snap him out of it. His eyes showed his every emotion as he processed what his sporty friend had just said. He couldn’t believe Choi Minho, the most popular guy on this school had fallen in love with the infamous nerd, Lee Jinki. Key’s mind was working to its fullest to tell him how he should react to this, should he laugh at him or cry tears of happiness for the other? After a good minute of his mind overload, it had decided to laugh at his prideful friend.

Minho was starting to worry, was he some untouchable piece of glass or something, why did his friend have this reaction? The worry didn’t last long though because Key started to laugh hysterically to his dismay, but also relief. The passer-by students looked at them with judging stares which has made him rather uncomfortable but his friend didn’t mind that at all. But he was relieved all the same because this was very Kibum-like which meant he couldn’t be all that mysteriously dangerous.

“Hey! Kibum!” Minho called to calm him down a little.

“Do not call me Kibum! There’s a reason I go by Key!” He knew he didn’t like when he called him by his real name but it was the most effective way to calm his hysteria. Minho would rather get a lecture on why he uses his nickname than to be the main attraction of all the passer-by people. After his lecture on his name had ended, Minho asked him again.

“So, will you tell me about him then?” Key looked at him, piercing through his entire body.

“Are you sure you want to know?” His voice was half-kidding, half-serious. Minho gulped, what could it be? Although he was getting nervous what was that guy, he nodded curious all the same.

“Okay,” Key paused for a while as if to add a suspense (which was working remarkably) before he continued, “the one you had been stalking these past two weeks is…”

Minho gulped, his friend knew just how to build the expectation and suspense. His heart was beating pretty fast as he was nervous what the hell the guy with such dazzling smile might be.

“No other than Lee Jinki, the nerd, the first student to be at the top of the charts all of his studies!” Minho’s face fell hard, that was the one he had always insulted and ridiculed for not having a life? Minho was so shocked, he had frozen and even his friend's fervent shaking couldn’t do anything. The guy with such bright smile, such a nice guy who always smiled at and bowed to people was the very same one he had insulted all along? How? How could this be? No wonder Key had that reaction, it didn’t make any sense for him to fall in love with somebody he resented. It hit him hard but he hoped the other didn’t hear him when he had sneered at him. He was already deep in this to withdraw now.

“Tell me more about him.” He uttered when he finally came to his senses. Key looked at him with shock on his face but that quickly dissolved.

“I see you are in deep, Choi.” He commented with a smile before he started his animated talk.

“Lee Jinki, he’s 24 years old, he’s in his third year; you have no time to waste; is studying music, is an amazing singer, you should hear him; you know his schedule, so skip; has no siblings, normal family, lives in a dorm, has two friends, Jonghyun, music major, and Taemin, dance major.” Key said in one breath with some added comments in Minho’s way. Honestly, he didn’t know how his friend even got such information but it was really helpful.

“Anything more?” Key added but Minho was focused on something else.

“Wait, you heard him sing?” He asked in disbelief and envy.

“Yes, his voice is honey itself.” He noticing the other’s change in expression, he knew Minho was green with envy but Key being himself just couldn’t miss this amazing chance.

“W-what?” He stumbled on his words as he almost whined which was very unlike Minho to Key’s amusement.

“I said his voice is honey itself, it just pulls you in and envelops you in such a way you will never forget. Imagining it now makes me want to hear his beautiful voice again.” And he wasn’t lying at all, his voice did wonders, but he couldn’t refrain from riling the other up the wall with jealousy. It made him laugh and satisfied.

“You…!” Minho almost snapped but he noticed the figure he’s had seen so many times in this two weeks. It was Lee Jinki in his full glory but alone this time, his friends must have had other plans today. As Key noticed his line of sight he turned the way and smile crept on his lips. Oh, this would be fun! His mind was already thinking of all the ways he could get these two to speak with each other and an idea struck him. Oh, yeah, Minho, I got you this time. And as Jinki grew closer, his grin widened with each step the other took.

♥♥♥

He couldn’t believe this was happening, how could he have seen him every single day this past two weeks? It didn’t make any sense, they went to different courses and had different classes, moreover at a different time. No, he’s not a creep but he observed him for quite a while now. Ever since he overheard his conversation about himself he was interested. It started with him being hurt and furious at the other. He didn’t even know him, but he dared to insult him? Taemin was very protective of him so when he had heard about him he almost went to Choi Minho and kicked him in his most treasured place. Thankfully he listened to Jinki well and at his request didn’t do anything other than ignore or snarl at him when he saw him. Jinki assumed Minho didn’t even notice him do anything of such but regardless was a little happy about that small action from his precious friend.

It almost drew Taemin up the wall and more when Jinki declared he had fallen in love.

“How?! Why?! Why him!?” He demanded to know but Jinki calmly responded that there’s no how, why, or anything of such in love and that he would understand it one day. Taemin still couldn’t quite accept it but he at least decided to trust him, which made Jinki all warm inside. Jonghyun was on the accepting end but he still was a little on edge. It was Choi Minho, who had insulted, angered and hurt him, and more but he decided to trust him nevertheless.

Jinki was not sure how it happened but since he started to notice him after that, Minho was quite the nice guy, a little prideful but nice all the same. He was also a sport maniac, mostly soccer, which made his attractiveness all that higher. He noticed he mostly hung out with his friend named Key, who was quite infamous for knowing every gossip there ever existed. Jinki has always wondered what they spoke about for Minho, who was sport idiot and Key, being the fashionista he was, were total opposites of each other to his eyes (and to many more). He had also got to know his eating antics, he ate a lot and Jinki wondered which one of them would eat more for he himself was a glutton.

Jinki went to school like any other Monday that fateful day but he didn't expect to encounter Minho at all. He knew he came to school later than him so his surprise couldn't be anymore bigger than that, at least he thought so when he saw him few metres away. He couldn't be more wrong, though.

As Jinki came closer, he noticed the other was pacing around looking everywhere. He must be lost, Jinki thought and smiled to himself. He didn't expect for Minho to look his way but they held eye contact for a very short while. Minho looked like a lost puppy and Jinki had to smile, which he immediately regretted and quickly passed by with Jonghyun and Taemin who were in an animated discussion about something, not noticing him or the other.

After he passed Minho and was at far away distance enough, he couldn't help but turn around and spare the other a glance. He noticed he stood still, at the same place. Jinki shrugged thinking he must have tried to find his class and turned around to go to his own one.

When Tuesday arrived, Jinki honestly didn't expect to see him again. But he did and it made his heart skip a beat. He couldn't not smile although he was worried about the other misunderstanding his intentions. He planned to pass by again but he heard a "Hey," and he reflectively turned around. He was used to people referring to him as Hey but as he scanned for who it may have been, there was none. As he did so though, his eyes landed on Minho and they once again looked to each other's eyes. Jinki put smile on his lips to hide his slight embarrassment but the other just stared at him. It made him a little sad but also greatly flustered so he did the only thing he could think about at that moment. He his heel and left for his class, running to catch up with his friends.

The days passed and each one of them did he notice the other, before and after school. Minho was mostly just sitting at the bench outside the building where Jinki had to pass. Minho was indifferent and Jinki, not wanting to be embarrassed again, just spared the other a glance in passing. He would have walked by without the glimpse but he was so gorgeous it was hard, his silverish hair making it even harder, to just simply ignore him.

Jinki started wondering though why he was there every single time he went by, either to the school, library or just home. He knew their classes were at different times and Jinki couldn't help but start to imagine all possibilities. First, he thought the professors changed the time for they couldn't be there at the time of their classes but he quickly forgot that idea. Honestly, it didn't make sense for the professors to be so busy all the time and change the time instead of cancelling the class. Second, he thought it was for him but he dismissed the idea even faster. How could it be for him if he got ignored? Also he insulted him all the time, why would he bother to wake up early and wait for him? It just didn't make any sense. It wasn't like he was in love or something.

It struck him then, the other must have been in love and waiting for her. It was just that Jinki happened to have the same schedule as her. He felt very ashamed to even consider that the other waited for him. He was very embarrassed.

Almost three weeks passed by and he was now on his way to practice without Jonghyun nor Taemin. They got held up by the teacher and were in the middle of a little tutoring session. Jinki knew that would take far longer than each expected so he headed to the practice room alone. He didn't notice the two of them ahead until he got called by one.

"Hey, Lee Jinki!" Somebody called from a little distance making him stop and look the way the voice came from. As he noticed Key, who was motioning for him to get his there, his eyes fell to the one standing next to him. It was no other than Choi Minho, he caught him looking at him before he shot a glare to his friend.

"Come here, quickly!" Key disregarded Minho completely and Jinki knew he had no other choice than to approach them. He stepped up and was next to them in no time.

"Are you going to practice?" Key asked and he just nodded, trying to stay composed as he felt Minho's stare on him. He wasn't sure if it was bad or not, but it made him slightly uncomfortable and self-aware.

"That's great! Minho here wants to hear you sing." As he said this, both looked at him shocked. Key wasn't fazed and had a little smile plastered on his lips, which made Jinki confused greatly for he wasn't sure if he was telling the truth or just making fun of him. They both then looked at each other and Minho offered a small smile making Jinki's heart skip a beat and his face blush slightly, which didn't go unnoticed to Minho's eyes. He was glad he mustered the courage and decided to throw his damn pride away. It was worth it for Jinki's beautiful and dazzling smile that followed shortly after his own small one.

~♥~

They were now alone in the practice room as Key said he had other plans already. Minho was sure his friend was just trying to make them alone. The atmosphere was very awkward and Minho was finding it suffocating. He was about to speak up when the other cut him to it.

“Should I start?” He asked shyly as his cheeks turned a slight pink colour making Minho’s heart beat wildly.

“Go ahead.” Minho offered with a small, awkward smile and a nod.

“Ok.” The other replied and took a long breath as he positioned himself better behind the piano.

The moment his fingers touched the keys, Minho was swept away and when the first word fell off his lips, Minho was enchanted. The song wasn’t something Minho would listen, he was not a ballad person to say the least, but Jinki’s voice had something that made Minho listen to him with a closed eyes and appreciating the lyrics. Kibum didn’t lie at all, his voice really entrapped you and left you speechless, and it really was like honey. Minho swayed to the music that Jinki was making with eyes closed, and as the music slowly stopped, it left him wanting more.

“It was beautiful, but short.” Left his mouth as his eyes slowly opened. He didn’t mean to say it aloud but the moment he laid his eyes on Jinki as he waited for any sort of critique, his mind betrayed him. He couldn’t not say anything and disappoint the other with a lack of interest. Minho hadn’t the time to regret though as the other smiled his blinding smile, being a little on the shy side.

“Thank you.” And Minho was this close to confessing right there and then. But he didn’t, it wasn’t that easy and he certainly couldn’t afford scaring the older away. No, that wasn’t something he wanted.

“Could you sing something else?” He asked courageously and he couldn’t be more relieved when the other nodded with another one of his charming smiles that showed his pearl white teeth. Minho was sure that that smile would become his end sometime.

The time flew by as Jinki sang and Minho listened, and it repeated itself a few more times. Minho asked for more and Jinki gladly obliged, Minho complimenting him and Jinki shyly thanking the other. They didn’t notice the time passing and if Minho didn’t look at the clock on the wall, they would still be there in their small trance surrounded only with Jinki’s singing and Minho’s listening in silence.

“It’s already ten o’clock!” Minho raised his voice a little in surprise, which startled the other and Minho quickly apologized.

“It’s okay.” Again one of his smiles, “I guess we should head home.” He stated and Minho could notice the sad tinge in his voice.

“Yeah, I guess.” Minho agreed. “Are you going to the bus stop, too?”

“I am.”

“Let’s go together, then!” Minho said a little exited. Jinki only smiled and nodded before he started sorting out and cleaning the practise room. Minho helped with whatever he could and they were now on their way to the bus stop.

The way there was quiet but nowhere near as awkward as at the beginning. It was a peaceful walk with Minho peeking at the other once in a while, and Jinki doing the same but neither noticing the other doing so.

Upon arrival, Minho decided to ask the other where he was headed to and break the silence.

“Where are you going?” Jinki looked at him a little surprised but he quickly smiled instead.

“The dorm I live in is in Seocho. What about you?” Minho was surprised a little, he lived only one district away from that.

“I live just one stop after Seocho.” He said and Jinki was also pleasantly surprised. He smiled again, and Minho couldn't help but feel blinded.

“So we’re going on the same bus, then.”

The conversation ended there as the bus arrived and they both got on and sat next to each other without words. The bus ride went by in silence until Minho decided to break it before the other gets off.

“Can I go there again and listen?” Jinki looked at him as he stood up to get off and smiled.

“Sure!” He moved to the door as they opened, “At 4 then?”

“Ok!” Minho smiled back and answered him before the other got off the bus and Minho looked at him until he was no longer in sight. This went smoothly, he decides and as he’s finally at peace, he starts to get sleepy. This day was very exhausting for his mind and body, for he tried to impress Jinki in the slightest, raking his brain.

The moment he came home, his parents almost scolded their youngest son. But as they laid their eyes on his smile, weary and tired as it may be, it was the most content smile they saw Minho to ever wear. They decided it was nothing that bad to need a scolding and they let him wash and go to sleep.

♥♥♥

Jinki was looking at the bus as it was leaving and until it was completely out of sight, he stood there. After it was no longer visible, he turned around and went in the direction of his dorm. It was a good ten minutes away from the bus stop and he always felt it to be a hassle to get up early to catch the bus even if his class would start half an hour after he arrived to school. That was why he stopped using the bus as soon as his friend, Jonghyun, got the licence. They attended the same classes, so he was very happy for not having to use the bus.

He contemplated on taking the bus the next day in hopes of encountering Minho but he couldn’t be sure and he really didn’t want to waste his sleep. He decided it was better to be sure than to have hopes that would end in vain. Thankfully, they were guaranteed to meet at four at the practice room and he hoped they would go home together again. He was also low-key hoping his friends would be still tutored the next day, especially Taemin, who hated Minho’s guts. He really didn’t want his friend to ruin everything he established in this one day. Jonghyun would be more considerate but he still would be obvious about his hate towards Minho, so he rather they both have a tutoring session again. It also seemed like Minho didn’t realise it was him, the one he insulted and called names.

His mind was playing today’s events in his head as he took a bath, taking a little longer than he did normally lost in his memories. And as soon as he hit the pillow, he fell asleep like a log. His night full of sweet and pleasant dreams of him and Minho.

~♥~

The next day arrived and Jinki shot out of bed, this occurrence as scarce as him getting a mark worse than A, which was almost never. He wasn’t a morning person, not at all, and his friends knew it better than anyone. They tried to wake him once and didn’t attempt to anymore after he had snapped at them that day. Jonghyun would always wait for him and if he wasn’t waking, he would call him until he did immediately cutting the call before he could snap at the other.

He checked his phone and as the clock read 7 in the morning, he was about to sleep again but he remembered he was meeting Minho today in an occasion that wasn’t just a mere passing by. He immediately sprang out of bed and went to shower quickly, brushing his teeth and checking his breath. He did his hair and now it came to clothes, he wasn’t the best dresser but he hoped it would be at least decent. After few minutes and after making mess of his closet, he finally decided on a simple dark blue T-shirt and black skinny jeans, that Taemin forced him to buy. He didn’t wear skinny jeans a lot and he was more comfortable in his worn out jeans he rarely didn’t wear.

He also contemplated on not wearing glasses and changing to a contacts he owned but wore only once and never again. He decided against it in the end since it seemed as a drastic change in just a day. He didn’t want to seem like he was desperate for the other’s attention.

He was done at exactly 8 o’clock and quickly went down to a waiting Jonghyun who seemed quite surprised at his punctuality and clothes.

“In love?” He asked knowingly and laughed when Jinki went as red as the tomato. Jinki hit his arm lightly in an attempt to stop the other.

“Just start driving.” And Jonghyun calmed down a few seconds after and started the engine. The ride was silent with an occasional giggling from Jonghyun as Jinki completely ignored the other.

When they arrived, Taemin couldn’t hide his excitement when he saw Jinki wearing the jeans he picked. Jonghyun dragged him away quickly as he noticed the one his friend was head over heels in love with. Although he didn’t exactly approve of that , he wanted his friend to be happy and if being with that guy made him, he could tolerate it. If he ever hurt him though, that would be a completely different story.

Jinki watched as Taemin got dragged away by Jonghyun with a fond smile on his lips, and when Minho saw it he knew he wanted to be the one that received his smile and affectionate gaze.

“Hi… uhm, can I call you Jinki?” He asked when he was close enough to be heard. He was feeling very shy and although he didn’t like feeling this way, he didn’t hate it when he met the other’s brown orbs. The clothes the other wore weren't exactly helping his case, the jeans hugged his thighs and made him that more attractive.

“Sure, can I also call you Minho?” And he couldn’t feel happier as the other nodded. He’d like to chat more but he had to attend a class in few minutes.

“Sorry, but I have to go…” Minho couldn’t help but feel a little regret upon having to part.

“Okay, go!” He smiled and the other did the same. Jinki bowed a little in apology that they couldn’t talk more and sprinted in the direction of his lecture. Minho still had a lot of time before his class started so he decided to sit on the bench he always sat recently and think a little. He was debating on how to ask him out or if he even should ask him out in the first place. He’d like to date, of course, but he didn’t know how Jinki felt and he certainly didn’t want to waste all of his efforts. He decided to be cautious and wait a few days before he asks him out.

Minho didn't know how long was he lost in thought but when Key snapped his fingers in his face, he knew it was a good hour at the least.

"How'd it go?" He asked as soon as he sat next to Minho, who followed the other with his gaze.

"What?" Key looked at his friend with face that mirrored his feelings.

"What else, you idiot. Lee Jinki's and your little date, duh." Minho's face became a shade darker at the mention of date.

"It wasn't date!" He retaliated and Key only laughed at his agitated friend.

"Whatever you say." He singsonged annoying his friend more.

"It really wasn't!" Key nodded his head with "okay, okay" and Minho knew there wasn't point in arguing any longer as it wouldn't change the other's mind anyway.

“So, how did it go?” Minho shot him a glare but replied nonetheless.

“Good.”

“Come on, elaborate!” Key said frustrated at his friend. Minho looked at his hand’s that were resting at his legs before he finally spoke.

“Just good.” He blushed a little and continued, “We went to the bus stop together and found out we live just one bus stop away…”

“Wow, good job!” Key said in a loud voice and hit the other on the back surprising him.

“Hey, that hurt!” Minho raised his voice, too glaring at Key.

“Don’t be a wimp, Minho.” He said in his defence before he got up and started going to the lecture hall.

“Hey, Choi Minho, hurry up! You’re going to miss the lecture!” He shouted after his friend when he noticed him still sitting on the bench. After Minho realized what time it was, he quickly shot up and ran after the other.

Jinki was finally done with all the classes for the day and was now waiting for his two friends to arrive. To his dismay, both of them were freed from the tutoring session for this day and he couldn’t help but feel dispirited. His friends would destroy all he build up in that one day and he couldn’t do anything about it. He would at least try to explain them what is going on if nothing else, even if it may have the opposite effect. It was still better than not saying anything at all.

“Jinki-hyung, how are you?!” Taemin called from the distance making Jinki look up from the floor. He smiled his way and waited for the other to reach him before he replied.

“Good, but I have to talk with you and Jonghyun about something important.” Taemin’s smile faded a little, what could be so important to make Jinki all serious? Could the jerk have done something to him?!

“Did he do something?!” Jinki looked at the other with guilt and Taemin was ready to kick Minho’s if the other didn’t say something that shocked him.

“Yes, but not like that!” He quickly added before the dancer could run off, “We are meeting today again at 4 o’clock in the practice room.”

Jinki’s blood rushed to his face while he was saying everything that happened the day before to Taemin who listened intently, his face changing here and there as his emotions were very evident. Jinki was trying to stay composed throughout but it was hard to do so when the other was burning him with his stare.

“Hey, what is with you two?” Just as he finished telling what happened, Jonghyun arrived. The atmosphere around them wasn’t exactly the kind he imagined as the two were the most smiley people he knew of. Them looking all serious and fierce wasn’t something he encountered a lot in his life as the two’s friend apart the rare exceptions.

“Ask him.” Taemin said and dashed off looking rather pissed off. Jinki felt a little sorry but he knew the other was just looking out for him and would eventually cool off.

“What happened?” Jonghyun asked lost. What was going on? Did they fight over something or what?

“Sorry, I was just telling him about what happened yesterday with Minho.” He said and Jonghyun’s expression changed immediately at the mention of the jerk’s name.

“What, did he do something to you?!”

“He did nothing like that, we were just alone together in the practice room since Key said Minho wanted to hear me sing. Then, we left for the bus stop together and found out we live pretty close.” He explained before the other could get more crazy ideas.

“What?!”

“And we’re meeting again at 4 in the practice room, so I wanted to ask if you couldn’t leave early for today…” His voice mirrored his regret and apology for being selfish.

“Well, I don’t mind but are you really okay?” Jonghyun asked worried for his friend. What if he was being bullied by the jock and trying to hide it?

“I’m okay.” Jinki shot the other a blinding smile and he knew it was nothing of the sorts. His smile was the happiest one he saw in ages and he couldn’t deny him the happiness he seemed to have finally found.

“Okay, I will leave you two alone but be sure to tell me if he does anything to you!” Jinki reassured him with a smile before he replied happily.

“I will, don’t worry!” And Jonghyun left at that with a small smile playing on his lips.

Minho rejoiced as the last class finally ended. When he looked at the time, he realised it was a few minutes after four and cursed quietly. He shot the leaving professor a glare before he packed his things and rushed out of the classroom. He cursed his damn professor for extending his class as he ran to the practice room hoping Jinki would be still there not misunderstanding him.

"Sorry!" He said as soon as he slammed the door open startling Jinki who was about to leave.

"I thought you wouldn't come..." Jinki said when he realised the situation. Minho could hear a hint of sadness in his lovely voice.

"I wouldn't do that," he paused as Jinki looked up at him, "the class got a little extended."

"You wouldn't?" Jinki asked him a little sceptically and Minho noticed the slight anger the other tried to contain.

"Yes, what makes you think otherwise?" Minho replied and the singer couldn't help but let his anger out. How he could be so thick-skinned, he wondered.

"What do you think?" Jinki finally explodes looking at the shocked Minho before he continues. "What about you calling me all sort of names?! What about you acting as if you know me and degrading me?!" He raises his voice until he's shouting at the other.

Minho was shocked, he assumed the other wasn't aware of his past shameful actions. It ashamed him now that the opposite was the truth. He was sorry he ever did anything of the sorts. He noticed that Jinki was still staring at him with anger and he couldn't miss his misty eyes. He regretted to have hurt this beautiful being.

"I'm sorry that I hurt you." He tried to apologise with all sincerity he could find in himself.

"Why did you pretend not to know?" Jinki looked the other in the eyes, "Why were you being nice to me?"

"I'm really sorry." He apologised once again before continuing, "To answer your first question, it was because I thought you didn't know. Why didn't you confront me before then?"

Jinki grew silent, his mind trying to find some excuse but failing to do so. He decided he would just say the truth instead of lying again.

"I was happy that we were speaking to each other and I didn't want to destroy what we built in just one day." He looked at his feet embarrassed to face Minho but also worried the other would leave grossed out and they would never speak with each other again.

Minho didn't expect this confession leaving him speechless. He soon realised he should probably say something before the other decided to dash out of the room.

"I felt the same way," this words made Jinki look up with eyes widened, "and this will answer your second question." He said as the other grew visibly curious.

Honestly Minho hasn't the smallest idea what came over him as he shortened the distance between them. Jinki was obviously surprised and unsuspecting of Minho's next actions. He gently grabbed Jinki's shoulders and leaned forward before he kissed the other male. Jinki widened his eyes in surprise before he closed them and kissed back, which in turn surprised Minho, who pulled away. This earned a quiet whine from the other. They were now looking into each other's eyes before Minho finally broke the silence.

"I like you." Jinki's heart skipped a beat and blood rushed to his face painting his cheeks the colour of dark pink. Minho smiled and grabbed the other's chin preventing him from hiding his beautiful face. They held eye contract for a while before closing their eyes and kissing again. The kiss this time was more passionate than the shy and reluctant one beforehand. Minho demanded entrance and the other gladly complied, Minho's tongue not missing this slight opening and immediately exploring the insides of Jinki's mouth. The kiss tasted like honey living up to his honey-like voice and Minho wouldn't have pulled away if it wasn't for the lack of oxygen. Jinki looked up at Minho with a hazy eyes before he said something that left Minho's heart beating like crazy.

"I like you, too."

~~♦♦♦~~

Taemin left the school building fuming. He couldn't believe Jinki was left alone with that damn jerk. It wouldn't be so bad if Jinki didn't say something that broke his heart. He felt very disappointed in the other, he knew how much he despised him but he still decided to let him be alone with Jinki.

"What if that bastard hurt him?!" He seethed making his way to the one he thought he could trust with anything. Seems like he was gravely mistaken and a very bad judge of character to top it off.

He noticed the familiar figure in the distance and with a scoff he picked up his speed and was before the other in a matter of seconds.

"What is it, Taemin?" The other asked surprise evident in his voice and by the face he was making.

"How could you?!" Taemin shouted angry making the other flinch a little and look at him in surprise.

"What do you mean?"

"Don't act like you don't know, Kibum!" Taemin was holding himself off from grabbing the other's collar at his question. As if he didn't know what was up.

"Okay, I admit it." Key paused as the dancer was glaring holes through him before he continued.

"But you know that they are into each other!" Now it was Key's turn to talk some sense into his boyfriend.

"But why would you play the cupid!? They wouldn't have spoken otherwise!" Key knew his boyfriend hated Minho's guts but he couldn't believe he wouldn't want his friend to be happy regardless.

"Taemin, don't you want to see Jinki happy?" He asked in full seriousness waiting for the other's reply. Taemin finally nodded after thinking about it deeply. Before he could say anything though, Key beat him to it.

"Shouldn't you support and look after him then? If it's Minho who is making him smile, shouldn't you give him at least a chance?" Taemin was aware he acted like a petty brat but he couldn't stand his friend hurting because of some head named Minho.

"But what if Jinki gets hurt because of him?" Key hugged his boyfriend in a silent comfort. He knew just how much Jinki meant to him. They were like brothers despite not being related in any way.

"I know you don't want him to hurt but even if it's not Minho, who he would date, he still can get hurt. Would you disapprove of all his potential lovers?" Taemin knows as well that he behaves like a little kid right now but he can't forget Jinki's hurt face with tears threatening to fall down when he heard the other. Maybe it's because he's feeling betrayed that Jinki fell in love with the one that hurt him. Or it could be him being jealous that Minho is the one who will make him smile now and the time they will be together will shorten as well.

"I know, I'm sorry for being angry at you." He says still hugging his older boyfriend. He was happy the other didn't just snap at him (as he has done many times before) but instead tried to calm him down and talk some sense into him.

"Yeah," Key patted his back in a calming manner, "also you don't have to worry about Minho hurting Jinki, if anything it would be the other way around." Taemin pulls away from the hug to look the other in the eyes.

"What do you mean?"

"Just that Minho is deep in this," Key smiles when Taemin tilts his head in confusion, "I mean that he's screwed."

And it finally dawns on him what Key means by it. He joins his laughing boyfriend before they hug again. He feels content as the other wraps his arms around him and he feels the other's heart beating against his chest.

"I guess it won't hurt to give him a chance." He pulls from the hug looking in Key's eyes. He plants a kiss on the other's lips quickly and smiles.

"Warn him that if he makes him cry, he won't live to the next day." Key smiles at his boyfriend that displays such protectiveness of his friend and it makes him happy to know the other would act the same way had it been him in Jinki's shoes.
