When he closes his eyes, amidst a lecture from one of his least favorite professors to ever grace the school, he sees blue.    This color transitions into a vast body of water that stretches beyond the horizon and his line of sight. It sparkles under a shining, golden sun and when he stretches out his arms and relaxes his body and mind, he thinks how this is not falling but rather, flying.   Taeyong opens his eyes. He turns his head slightly to his right, and sees Yuta sitting idly on his chair and looking bored out of his mind. It takes a minute or so for the latter to look back at him, and when he does, Yuta arches an eyebrow at the quirky expression his friend has got on. "What?"    He suppresses a small smile. "Clear your weekend slate, alright?"   Taeyong looks away and Yuta is left pondering at his suggestion for the rest of the class.      > ; <     He's been thinking about it for weeks now, and not like planning it but still thinking about it. The what, the where and the when. He almost thinks Bona sitting beside him in the student lounge is a good sign.   "What does she like? Or want?"    Bona regards him for a second before raising an eyebrow. "Are you seriously asking me that? Taeyong, she's your girlfriend."   "But she's your best friend." He says, resisting the urge to roll his eyes. Bona didn't like sass, even though she was full of it. And he didn't want to be like Yuta who was always at the receiving end of Bona's near-to-murderous slapping and hitting. Plus, he needed her help so he didn't want to annoy her any further.    "Yes, but you're supposed to know her better than anyone. Like, in another worldly level kind of know her." She says. "You've been dating for over a month, what have you guys been doing all that time? Don't you talk to each other about the deep stuff?"   Taeyong's gaze surpasses her face as he thinks about to the yesterdays of their relationship. But he knows it's no use, the only time Jisoo has been fully open with him was that one time at the lake and when she whispered to him she didn't flush the toilet right away. That made him crack up at that time, and now he was probably smiling goofily at the memory.    "Well," he shakes his head and regains his serious composure. "Jisoo's not exactly open with me yet. We talk, but it's always about the present. Who we are now and not who we were before we met each other. I think she likes it better that way."    Bona looks at him with her eyebrows furrowing and her eyes start to fill with a sort of sadness. It's a compassionate kind of image that is so different with her usual tough one. He almost thinks he had said something wrong. "She doesn't trust you."    He's a little taken aback, she said it so suddenly and so surely that she made it clear there had to be no questions asked about it.    "Taeyong, you guys are new and you met each other just a few months ago, on October. But it's already July and I'm surprised she agreed to be your girlfriend actually. Jisoo's been hurt before, and she's not the trusting type but it took Nayeon and I just a month to crack her down. But, I guess maybe it's different for you." She closes the book on her lap, she came to the lounge because she wanted to do some advance reading but Taeyong bombarded her with questions and stopped. "You're a guy, and you're her lover. You have to show her you can be her friend too, that you can be trusted with anything."   He takes all of this in and suddenly, the vinyl couch of the student lounge didn't feel so comfortable anymore. He wanted to get up, get out and do something. "So, I take it, no candlelit dinner for the first date?"   Bona scoffs, and just like that she's back to her old self again. She shakes her head vigorously. "No, none of that. Absolutely not. Also, no carnival dates and movies okay? Don't even think of setting up a projector in a backyard and show The Notebook while eating a three course meal nd ordering expensive wine or champagne. No, okay? Just no."   Taeyong blinks but he slowly nods, understanding. He wasn't even capable of being that romantic but perhaps Bona overestimated his abilities.    "Sometimes, boys tend to forget about themselves and just pleasure their girl." She says lightly, titling her head and looking at something behind him as she spoke. "That's always the case the first time around. Boys work harder and exert more effort during the first few months." She looks back at him, her gaze hard and steely. "Then it all disappears a little later, it's why most relationships fall apart and the girl always ends up heartbroken. I hope you won't be like that."    "I've no intentions, Bona."   She slowly smiles, and he gets why all the boys in the university think Kim Bona is a descendant from angels. She's always been pretty, but her nastiness and sass sometimes covered it up for him. But he's glad he's talking to a nice Kim Bona right now because she's really helping.   "You have to appeal to her," she says. "She's already yours, Taeyong. You don't have to prove anything or lay claim anymore, all you have to do is to make her see that you're more than just a partner but a friend as well. You have to make her trust you and she has to be reassured that you trust her too. It's one way to build a really strong relationship, right from the start."    He's also really glad he postponed in asking his friends about date ideas because what he really needed was girl advice, from one of Jisoo's best friends no less. His boys would probably tell him to just go for it or to not sweat about it so much like it's just a date. That would probably send him into a mental breakdown.    "The first date should be something the both of you like. Not just her's, or your's. It has to be a combination," she tells him. "It should really leave a mark, so that when you're fighting or something and you think you can't do it anymore, all you need to do is look back on your first date and realize what you're about to do is totally wrong. Your first date has to be more than memorable, it should be something you won't even think about forgetting."    Taeyong is left thinking about that for the rest of the day. In the four corners of his room, with the lights and the glow-in-the-dark stars he stuck on the ceiling glowing steadily in the darkness, he thinks about everything Bona has said.    Her words really left a impression, and Taeyong has never been so grateful towards anyone like this before. He didnt know why he was so worked up and preoccupied about it in the first place, he just wanted to ask her out on a proper date, but maybe Bona's words shed a little light on it.    He's had relationships before, but none of them felt like this. They couldn't even compare to Jisoo, and he's only been with her for a month but that's an indication that time has nothing to do with feelings. He wants to make her feel loved, as all girls should feel, and for once he's not asking for anything in return.    She's special to him now, so it's only right that he should show it.      > ; <     He rewinds his conversation with Bona, thinking back to it if the both of them said anything about keeping it a surprise or something. But his mind is coming up empty, which probably means that they didn't. And he didn't plan on it to be one anyway, so it's the reason why Taeyong just strolls casually up to her in the cafeteria and asks what she likes.    "Anything with beef and pork would be good." And then Taeyong just laughs and shakes his head, apologizing for being so straightforward before asking herr specifically what she wants their first date to be like. And Jisoo gets red all over and it's quite adorable for Taeyong. "D-date?" she stammers.    "Y-yes," he smirks, mimicking her. "I want it to be outdoorsy-like, but if you want dinner or coffee or something then I can adjust and make it work." he smiles at her.   Jisoo shakes his head, seemingly recovering but she still looks a little flustered. She tries to look at his eyes, a small and shy smile
