CHAPTER 5

It was the lunch break, and the gang was making their way peacefully to the refectory, well, not so peacefully... Our ice prince could still feel a lot of stares on him (mostly on the girls’ part), while some girls were already waving at him… he shakes his head and heads to the table with his friends. He couldn't help but feel that Tiffany seemed a little distant since this morning, when he was about to start a conversation with her, someone was getting closer to the group, to Tiffany, precisely:

“Hey, babe... Did you forget our meeting today?” When Jess and everyone heard the voice, Jess's blood started to boil, then he turns around only to see Wooyoung smiling to Tiffany. But when their eyes met, automatically they frowned and Tiffany quickly responds to try to ‘break the ice’:

“Oh…oppa? Hi, no I didn’t but, I was kinda… Busy, yeah, Busy! Because I was helping the new student find his classes and, oh by the way, Wooyoung oppa, this is Jung Jesse, he is Jessica’s cousin, and Jesse, this is Wooyoung…” Neither one of them even raised their hand to salute each other, they were only glaring each other fiercely, and anyone could see the visible beams that they were emitting with their eyes, until Wooyoung starts to speak again:

“A Jung, Jessica’s cousin? Hmph... That explains everything…” He says while he was staring furiously at Jesse, yet he was finding something very odd in this guy:

“What do you mean?!” Jesse quickly answered, squeezing his fist, while Wooyoung continues his statement:

“Exactly what you think…” When Tiffany realized that the discussion was getting really serious, she steps between them and tries to stop them:

“Enough!” Both of them were surprised by the sudden action of the girl, she quickly looks to Jesse saying:

“Jesse, don’t worry, I’ll be back soon okay?” He became more calm, while he was nodding his head and responded:

“Ok.” He then sat at the table with the rest the gang that was watching the whole scene:

Tiffany looks in his eyes, making his furrow disappear entirely, so she then turns to Wooyoung and demands:

“Outside, now…” She said seriously while she was making her way to the exit of the refectory with Wooyoung following behind. Arriving in the patio, she speaks rapidly:

“What do you need, oppa?”

“Hey, hey, hey...what happened to you? Since when you are like this!? You are avoiding me, ignoring me since that Jesse guy came and-”

“First of all, don’t involve Jess, and Second, you deserve this, what happened? Your fan girls are not giving you attention anymore? I saw how you treat them, how can I think that I have a relationship with someone who flirts with every single girl in this school?!”

“But, babe—“

“Stop! Listen, we still can be friends, but if you continue being like this, I can’t be with you anymore, I'm sorry, I… I have to go now…” She turned around and made her way to refectory again, without looking back. In her head, she couldn't stop thinking if she would be happy or sad with the decision that she just made…

Meanwhile at the refectory...

“Aish. Why is she taking so long…?” Jess looks at the refectory door every five seconds waiting for Tiffany, the gang was worried about the situation too, yet they tried to create a good atmosphere:

“Don’t worry un-—oppa, she will be back soon” Seohyun was rubbing Jesse’s shoulder trying to relieve his tension or concern, he then looks at the maknae, He softened a little:

“Thanks, Seohyun, I feel better now” He ends his sentence while he was patting the maknae's head, and Sooyoung demands:

“Yeah! She better come soon or I’ll be eating her food~~”

“Yah! Sooyoung! Behave yourself and leave Fany’s food alone!” Yuri was scolding Sooyoung while she was slapping Sooyoung’s hand, making everyone in the table laugh at the current situation when Jesse interrupted:

“Ok guys, I’ll be back” He got up from his seat while Taeyeon asked:

“What? Where are you going, Shiiiica?”

”Nothing, I just need fresh air, that’s all.” To be honest, he didn't want show them that he was really worried, and he really wanted to know if Tiffany was ok:

“Yeah, right! This has nothing related to Fany-ah, am I right Jess?” Yuri inspects Jesse’s face trying to find any trace but to her suspect was right, she had a triumphal smile on her face when she finds a blush covering Jesse’s cheeks:

“YAH! KWON YURI! I’ll be back soon!” He makes his way to the door, without looking back when a hand tapped his shoulder followed by a voice:

“Hey… You are Jung Jesse, right?” He then turns around to find Gyuri smiling sweetly at him, and she continues:

“I guess I'll have to introduce myself, I'm Park Gyuri nice to meet you. Oh and you can sit with me and my friends, how does that sound?” She ends her sentence while she appointed to her table.

“… well, I already have my friends, buts thanks for the offer... I have to go now” He tries to make his way to the door again, when suddenly, a hand grasps his arm, he looks to her again waiting an answer:

“Wait, wait, wait! Tell me, how about... I'll your personal guide for today?”

“Oh thanks but I don’t need—“

“Come on! Dont be shy! You are coming with me!”

“But…”

“Let's go!” Even being an ice prince… he didn’t want to be rough, and since the girl was pretty insistent, he decided to let her guide him, when he was making his way out of the refectory, he didn't saw that Tiffany was returning, but Gyuri did. And she was satisfied to watch Tiffany furrow at how she was clinging to Jesse’s arm:

“Ahahah take that Hwang, first step concluded” She was victoriously smiling while she was making her way out of refectory, dragging Jesse along, happily chatting with him, well the most part of time she was talking about herself….

Tiffany indeed watched the whole scene, she automatically furrowed and sat at the table with the gang, Taeyeon watching the odd behavior of her dear friend, she asked:

“Hey Fany-ah, are you ok?”

“Yeah, yeah I’m fine, why are you asking if I'm okay?” She responds lamely, while she was eating her food, earning weird looks from everyone at the table:

“Because you really don’t seem to be ok…”

“I already said that I’m fine!” She was literally on fire, but she didn’t know why she was upset, if it was because of Wooyoung or if it was because of what she saw while heading back to the refectory? Seeing that she was a little rough, she apologized to everyone:

“Guys, I’m sorry it’s just that I’m having a bad day…”

“Fany-ah, can I talk to you for a minute?” She already knew that her 'umma' was preparing another speech for her again. She sighs and gets up from her seat with Taeyeon following her, they stopped at a corner at the refectory, and Taeyeon starts to speak:

“Now, Fany, start to speak right now, missy!”

“Tae, I… don’t know…” Taeyeon was completely confused at how Tiffany acts and asks again:

“Tiff, you know that you can trust me, right?”

“I know Tae, it’s just that I’m a little confused…”

“But why you are confused, Fany?”

“It’s just that I was kinda annoyed at how Wooyoung was so clingy with all the girls and now, Jesse was dragged away by that…girl…” She was sulky again, while Taeyeon had an amused look in her face:

“My God… Tiffany, how you can be so dull?!”

“WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!” Tiffany quickly became angry, already raising her fist against Taeyeon’s, due her comment… when the latter quickly excused herself:

“Ah. hehehe. Nothing, nothing, but seriously Tiffany, you need to be honest with your own feelings…” She said as she ends her sentence placing her hand on Tiffany’s shoulder, while she can see Tiffany makes her oblivious face again:

“But how???”

{Ringgggggggggggg} Bells sound

“Ha sorry Fany-ah we have to go back now, but I’ll tell you later, I promise ok?”

Finally it was time to go, another “normal” day at school, Jesse thinks, despite that he was a man now and he couldn’t helped to feel that Tiffany was kinda really bothered the rest of the day, well precisely mad at him. But in his mind he was trying to find a reason why Tiffany was acting like this.

Making their way to the school’s exit, he heard a lot of girls happily chatting:

“OMG! I can’t believe that the ball will be in two weeks!”

“Yeah, I know! I need to buy a perfect dress soon!”

“I already have my date! Hehehe how about you, girls?”

When he was passing next to them, he couldn’t help to feel the stares on his back, the mesmerized looks and the dreamy voices too:

“I wish I could know who he will take to the ball…”

“Yeah…I know! I gonna ask him!”

“Oh no, you don’t! I will ask him first”

“No! I will!”

“No, he is coming with me!” The girls starting to discuss madly, while Jess was making his way hurriedly to exit. He then, finally found his gang, and walking to their direction, his mind was thinking about the ball:

“Only have one person that I would like to invite, if I still be a guy…” He was happily smiling to himself, as he was remembering of Tiffany. He quickly was approaching from the girls, already saying his farewell to them, while Taeyeon give him a little remark:

“Sicaa, come here for a minute.”

“What’s wrong, Tae?”

“I’ll just give a little advice, so listen carefully…” Jesse simply nodded with a concern look in his face, concentrated in Taeyeon words:

“Listen, only listen what she have to say ok? And apologize yourself” It was very clear that Jesse was a little confused by Taeyeon statement, seeing this she continues:

“I’m talking about Fany.”

“But what did I do? What is wrong with her, I mean she ignored me the whole class after the lunch break” With that, Taeyeon was shaking her head, and she sighs:
