Drown
PoemsThe water is deep,
And I drown in your eyes.
You're all that I see,
You're all that I breathe.
I'm swallowing a mouthful
Of briny sea water,
But I can't stop loving you,
Not for a second, minute or hour.
The water surrounds me,
I'm plunged into the dark.
I'm suffocating, I'm gasping,
I'm hoping you'll pull me out.
Your hand stretches out
Just a second too late,
But I know you wouldn't save me.
I knew this was my fate.
To get lost within you,
To lose myself in your eyes.
Sinking deeper, and drowning too,
Choking on bittersweet lullabies.
