Please
PoemsYou're not okay,
And that's more than fine.
Everyone deserves
Their own little time.
Take some time for yourself,
And make sure you won't give up.
Make sure you're strong enough,
That you don't slip up.
I'm not one to speak,
You know I'm not okay either.
And no matter how I pretend,
My mind only gets weaker.
But I don't want to see you like this.
I want to see you healthy.
I want you to love yourself,
To see you grow old and wealthy.
I feel absolutely awful,
Only ever talking about myself.
I didn't ask you how you were,
If you were taking care of yourself.
You talked about it before,
Talked about a few of your problems.
But you never went any deeper,
And I never tried to solve them.
Slow down and think,
Take a deep breath,
Pause for a moment,
Take it step by step.
I know it's cliché,
That it's oversaid, but true,
No one is quite as beautiful,
No one's quite as you as you.
You look amazing,
Please, I ask you to trust me.
You're perfect the way you are.
Again, sorry for being sappy.
You'll never be perfect,
None of us will,
But you're the closest you'll get,
With your small smile and figure still.
Don't put yourself against
What people say you should be.
Even if people dear to you are saying them,
Even your mother's desperate pleas.
I know that you think
That I'm just saying this,
But I really mean every word,
And I leave you with this final wish:
Please, please remember,
Somewhere deep in your heart,
That someone cares for you,
Loves your every single part.
I don't say this nearly enough,
But you mean a lot to me,
Even if you're older than my other friends,
Even if I'm only fifteen.
Thank you for being there
To listen to all my cries.
Thank you for not judging me,
For not thinking I was telling lies.
I love you, please, I really do.
I'm so, so sorry for not telling you.
You're beautiful, please, that you have to believe
And it makes me feel awful that you don't have a clue.
