Given up shortly after he was born, Devin Jones, was raised in the states. At the age of six he learned he could use magic, but the rest of his family couldn’t. The more he learned the more his parents would look at him in concern. Unable to stand his family’s fearful gaze any longer, he runs away at the age of ten.

He spends the next six years living on the streets perfecting his magic, finding work where he can and wondering where he came from. He never expected Hagrid and McGonagall to show up at the bar he worked at and getting spirited away to Hogwarts.

It’s already three months into the year and while he doesn’t really know anything about the rules of the wizarding world he’s years ahead of his classmates in terms of skill. Plus, he doesn’t need a wand to do magic.

He doesn’t know why he’s so different from everyone else, but Headmistress McGonagall thinks it has something to do with his birth parents. Only one problem, no one knows who his birth parents are.
