Jiyeon x Baekhyun (EXO): WHO?

Requested by: exobacon

It was a regular day at school. Jiyeon was chatting with her friends while they had a break from all the stressful studying. It was finally her last year in high school. She was full with expectations about her future life; finally, she would be able to meet new people.

She did not really enjoy her high school life as much as she wanted. She had been optimistic, but all of her ‘pink’ fantasies crumbled and shattered into pieces. She spent her high school years in an all-girls high school and it definitely wasn’t something she wanted. It was never easy to have a good relationship with many girls – all of the girls knew it.

The fact that Jiyeon's father was a well-known CEO didn’t help her when she entered the school either. Jiyeon always approached the rest of the girls with a pure heart, with good intentions, but soon realized she was being used. It took her quite some time to get herself together and find a solution to enjoy her high school years as much as she can. She befriended some girls but was never too close to them. They hung out together, went on meetings with boys, celebrated their birthdays with grand parties and presents – but only among themselves and few more people.

Jiyeon knew she had not seen much of the world outside. She knew that by reading the textbooks or the novels, she would get an idea, but she wanted to experience things by herself. Her father didn’t give her too many restrictions – he was protective over her, showered her with loving, and had a soft spot for her. However, Jiyeon never misused that. She had her opinions on what’s right and wrong, so she never crossed boundaries she shouldn’t have.

They had a normal father-daughter relationship. He was her only family apart from his parents who lived in JeJu Island. He was busy with work most of the time and Jiyeon didn’t mind it, since from the beginning she was taught to get used to it. Nevertheless, he spent quality time with her and spoke with her enough so she didn’t feel his spot missing.

“So, we have only two months till graduation. I'm going to Tokyo with my parents for two weeks and then once they leave, Hyunbin will come and we will stay for two more weeks.” One of Jiyeon’s friends – Mimi, said while smiling widely. You may have guessed but just like Jiyeon – Mimi’s family was rather well off as well – all of Jiyeon’s friends were like that.

Hani, another girl friends of Jiyeon, chuckled and playfully pushed Mimi’s shoulder. “You are engaged, that’s why you can be together with him for weeks. My dad would freak out if I did the same.”

“You change your boyfriend every other month, that’s why. We have been together for over than three years. My parents are used to him.” Mimi smiled smugly and then all the girls looked at Jiyeon. One may wonder why.

The thing was that Jiyeon never had a serious relationship or a relationship that lasted more than a month. Jiyeon didn’t mind going on dates with boys, but she never called it more than a hanging out. She couldn’t fall in love or so she said to her friends. She was more affectionate to popular idols than the boys that she met, who weren’t exactly less good-looking than most idols.

“I didn’t make any plans. Dad is busy, I don’t feel like going anywhere either.” Jiyeon said without making any expressions.

“You know you can find a boyfriend and spend the summer with him.” Hani .

“Boys can't handle her. She has a strange type.” Mimi joined the teasing.

Jiyeon showed a smile, pretending that nothing got under her skin, despite the fact that she really hated getting teased over such topics. “You will see when I end up marrying one of the most popular and good looking idols.” She said confidently.

“You’re beautiful, Jiyeon-ah. No matter how popular and good looking he is, I think you will get bored of him too.” Mimi said which was true. Jiyeon didn’t mind going on dates with good-looking boys, who were nice and had manners, but something just didn’t click.

“There must be someone for me.” Jiyeon laughed this time sincerely. It would be a lie to say Jiyeon never thought about having a serious relationship or finding the one for her. However, it wasn’t something easy. She didn’t know what her type was; she just knew who the one wasn’t.

Her laughter got interrupted with a message tone. Everyone checked their phones, out of habit, it turned out Jiyeon received a message.

“It’s from dad.” Jiyeon mumbled to inform her friends as soon as she saw ‘Father’ written on the screen. She opened the text, which said ‘Jiyeon-ah, your grandmother fell sick. We must go and visit her, inform your teacher and miss the last class. I'm waiting in the black car parked in front of the entrance. Hurry.’

Jiyeon bit her lip and quickly packed her things into her bag. She shortly explained the message and rushed to the teachers’ room. She showed the message and that didn’t need no explanation. As soon as she left the school building she saw the black car in front of the entrance and got in. However, she didn’t see her father as she expected to see. Instead she faced men dressed in black and the next moment she fainted.

When she opened her eyes it didn’t take long to realize she was kidnapped. Her whole body was aching, her back, and neck being in severe pain. Her hands were tied behind the chair she was sitting on and her legs were tied as well.

Once her eyes adjusted she looked around without moving her neck. She was about to shout when she heard footsteps and someone walked in the room. Her head moved to the direction of the door, which caused her to flinch because of the pain in her neck.

“You finally woke up, princess.” The man, who walked in, said. He was dressed in all black and slowly approached her and squatted down in front of her and looked up at her. “You don’t look too well.” He smirked.

Jiyeon couldn’t help but frown at him. He was so close to her that if her legs weren’t tied she would have kicked him right away. “Who are you? Why are you doing this to me?” she asked.

The man leaned even closer to her and moved a strand of her from her face. His hand was rather cold, but that wasn’t the reason Jiyeon flinched when she felt his hand on her face. “Even if I told you my name and you went to the police it would be of no help, dear.” He said while smirking. “Look at you frowning. It’s a shame you are his daughter of all people.” He traced her jaw line slowly and Jiyeon shook her head to make him stop.

“What are you talking about? What does my father have to do with all this?” Jiyeon almost screamed. Her whole body tensed and then slowly relaxed once the man moved away from her and stood up. Jiyeon’s eyes followed his moved.

“I guessed he wouldn’t have told you. What he does is not something to brag about.” He sneered and then looked at Jiyeon’s face – her expression hadn’t changed. Her face didn’t show fear, her eyes weren’t shaking, but he whole body would get stiff and her hands would grow cold once the man started approaching her, getting closer to her.

“Why did you kidnap me? What did I do to deserve this?” Jiyeon continued asking questions in a loud voice. had already started hurting and it was getting harder for her to continue in that manner, but she hoped to have someone hear her voice.

“No one will hear you.” The man spoke as if he had just read her thoughts. “You must want answers. If you stay calm I will tell you everything you need to know.” Yet again he made a few steps towards her and saw her flinch when he got closer. He smirked once again.

“What makes you think I will believe whatever you say?” Jiyeon glared at him. Her breathing was gradually becoming slower as he got closer to her. He didn’t stop walking until he was close enough and he leaned closer to her face and whispered, “You're a smart girl. You will decide by yourself, I will just show you the way.”

“Don’t get so close.” Jiyeon hissed at him.

The man laughed. “A high school girl sure wouldn’t dream of such attention.” He said in a mocking tone. Then he pulled a chair and sat down facing her.

“Stop smiling. It’s creepy.” Jiyeon said quietly, almost as if she didn’t want to say it aloud. She was relieved he kept a distance. She didn’t even know what to think in this situation. She was too overwhelmed.

“Shall I begin?” he asked his lip corners curled upwards. “Ask away.” He said, showing how confident he was.

“Why did you kidnap me? What did I do? What does my father have to do with all this? Who are you?” Jiyeon fired away all the things she had in her head.

“Your father is not the person you think he is. The reason this is happening is his existence and the deeds he has done.” The man spoke calmly. “You are a daughter of a rich CEO, well; the world knows he is a successful CEO. However, you see, he didn’t get successful and rich in the right way. He has a gang.”

Jiyeon rolled her eyes, not believing. It was the 21st century and gangs, gang leaders and all this existence didn’t make sense to her. At least, she wanted things to be that way; she wanted to convince herself like that.

“You may think it’s ridiculous.” The man yet again read her thoughts. “Well, little one, there are so many things that happen in this world. Just because you don’t see them or hear about them, doesn’t mean they don’t exist.” He said and Jiyeon, without noticing, bit her lips. Jiyeon realized she hadn’t seen much of the world she lived in.

After his words a long silence followed. Finally Jiyeon broke it after gulping. “Talk.”

“Don’t bite that hard, it will bleed.” The man said looking at her lips. Then he made eye contact with her. “Let’s continue. Like I said, he has a gang and is the leader. Most of that money he has, if not all of it, is from dirty work. It hurts me to be the man who will burst your bubble, but I don’t have another choice.” He said and didn’t move his gaze from her, expecting her expressions to change – they didn’t.

“I'm surprised. You’re a tough cookie.” He laughed. Jiyeon glared at him in response, there wasn’t much she could do at this moment. “But your father is really smart; he doesn’t get his own hands dirty. Who would, though? He has too many men who will sacrifice themselves to serve him.”

Jiyeon took a deep breath and looked at the floor. His eyes bothered her, as he never moved them from her while he spoke.

“He orders his men to kill people. Park Jiyeon, your father is a criminal and he has no mercy. However, it must be the genes; your grandparents aren’t angels either. It must be family business. I must admit, he looks after you really well. One would think he would kill his own child if not a son.”

Jiyeon gulped, no words could leave her lips. It wasn’t that she was scared, but it felt as if a greater power stopped her from doing anything, but breathing.

“Has he ever told you anything about your mother? Pictures? Anything?” he asked, Jiyeon’s silence was the answer he expected. “I can't say saw it, but I know that my source is never wrong. I know about your mother.”

Jiyeon’s eyes widened. Her father never spoke about her; Jiyeon remembered that the first time she asked about her mother was when she was five years old. Back then she got the answer that she should never ask about her or even mention her. Jiyeon was raised that way, she thought there was a reason behind everything, she believed one day her father would approach her first and tell her about her mother.

“I will go the short and the most painless way.” He started speaking again. “He her, when she realized she was pregnant she tried to kill herself, your father locked her up and forced her to give birth to you. Once you were born she looked after you for a few months and tried to run away with you. He killed her.”

It was short. However, it wasn’t painless. Jiyeon’s jaw tightened. Tears started forming in her eyes and she tried to blink them away.

“He may have raised you with loving. You may love him. I don’t care, but you ought to know what kind of a trash your own father is.”

Jiyeon swallowed and spoke. “Why are you telling me this? What will you do to me? Who are you to do all of this?” with each question Jiyeon’s voice grew louder. The tears were already falling down her cheeks.

This time the man showed no expressions. His tone wasn’t mocking either. “I'm part of gang and we have to deal with him a lot. Take this experience to break away from him. Go somewhere else, because the next time someone kidnaps you it may not be me.”

“What makes you better? Just like him, you're part of a gang!” Jiyeon shouted.

“I don’t kill innocent people, princess. He does.” He said. “All of this is a warning. Honestly, because of him I've lost so much and it won't matter if you end up crying on his lap and he comes after me. His gang and my gang are bound to clash.”

“I am extremely thankful to know you won't kill me.” Jiyeon said in a monotone voice, making emphasis on every word. Her face, once again, didn’t show any expressions. The tears had dried on her face. “Can you give me some water?” she asked quietly. “Please.” She begged.

The man raised an eyebrow and ended up picking a bottle of water and helping her drink slowly. However, Jiyeon didn’t swallow it and spat on his face. “If I hadn’t done this, I would have ended up having regrets.” She glared at him.

“You will regret this.” The man kept a poker face, pretending he wasn’t fazed by her actions. “I really won't kill you, but I will do something so you won't forget me.” He smirked at her. After that he put her to sleep just like the way they did it when she got on the car.

--/---

Jiyeon woke up and once she looked around she realized she was now in a café. Her school bag was next to her and she immediately looked for phone – it was 7 AM. She sighed and ordered a cup of coffee and something to eat, as she had an awful headache and she was hungry.

Her memory was blurry, she didn’t want to believe that ‘yesterday’ happened. She tried to keep her cool for a few moments, but ended up burying her face in her hands. She was shaking. The overwhelming feelings hadn’t left her.

When the waiter came with her order she slightly touched her wrist and looked up at her. “Excuse me, can I ask you something?” she asked. The girl nodded and Jiyeon continued. “By change did you see who brought me here?” at this moment Jiyeon couldn’t even think how embarrassing her situation was or what the girl would think of her.

“I'm sorry, miss. The café opens at 6 AM, when I came at 5.30 you were already here. I asked the manager, however I was told it wasn’t my business. I'm sorry.” The girl answered.

Jiyeon nodded her head and sighed. “I suppose I won't be allowed to check the CCTV?” she tried her luck, but once again the girl apologized and then left to serve other customers.

Jiyeon bit her lip and she remembered how that man said she wouldn’t get anything out. It was obvious that he had quite a lot of influence, since such behavior was accepted.

After sitting in the café for almost an hour Jiyeon got a cab to her house. Now that everything was over she was more scared. Her house was only a thirty-minute walk but she wasn’t confident and the fact that her legs were shaking, didn’t help her much.

The moment she stepped inside the house she locked the door and checked if there was anywhere someone could get in. She prepared herself a hot tub and then got in her room to prepare herself some clothes. While the tub was filling she checked her phone more carefully. She actually had received a text from her father saying he was on a business trip and that he would return on Sunday.

Jiyeon couldn’t help but sigh. Maybe those people had everything perfectly planned. Who knows, maybe they stalked her for days and yesterday was the perfect opportunity.

Jiyeon walked in the bathroom and slowly took off her clothes. She took a quick glance at the mirror, which was all steamy, and couldn’t help but notice something in black right under her left collarbone. She glanced down and couldn’t figure out what it was exactly. She quickly wiped a part of the mirror and stared at her reflection.

‘Byun Baekhyun’ (변백현) was tattooed (rather beautifully, she thought for a second). It didn’t take her long to realize that it was probably that man’s name. She traced the writing and flinched by the fact that such thing was permanently written on her body.

She got in the tub and hugged herself in a ball.

After what felt like forever she showered and walked out, got dressed and laid on her bed. Whenever she closed her eyes she saw that man’s face, smirking at her, and then she imagined her own father as a gang leader. She couldn’t believe it, even imagining it made her feel sick. The fact that he was a cruel person who even killed the mother of his child… was it possible? She never saw him in that light… she felt cheated, she felt so wronged, and she just didn’t know what to do with herself and her life anymore.

She couldn’t stand her own thoughts. She decided she would leave yesterday’s events aside. She picked her school bag and took everything on the bed. There were items that weren’t previously in her bag – a small box, which resembled a cream and a black folder.

She picked the folder and opened it. On the first page there was a pink note ‘Use the cream for the tattoo. Don’t worry, I didn’t see much & the rest are some things I've organized about your father’s deeds. I never lie, so I gave it to you to see it by yourself. Leave him somehow; it’s for your own good. – BBH’

Jiyeon closed the folder and along with the cream, she threw it on the floor. Yet again, her whole body was shaking. She didn’t know anything. She had no idea what to do, what to think…anything. She couldn’t simply leave – her father, as she already knew him to be, was powerful enough – the fact that he was a gang leader didn’t help her either. She couldn’t just ask him if all of this was true either… what is he killed her as well?

All what’s left was to pretend nothing happened, finish high school and to think of a way after that.

--/---

Jiyeon did that, she managed to finish high school perfectly, pretending that nothing happened. She acted the way she used to do when she was with her friends or with her dad. However, she observed him more and sometime she would look at his phone. He didn’t change in any way, but all Jiyeon could think of was what kind of a man her father was.

Jiyeon couldn’t resist the temptation and by now she knew the folder, which that man gave her, by heart. Without realizing, she grew cold compared to before and that didn’t go unnoticed by her father. Even though he never asked straightforwardly she would always say that the stress got the better of her and change the topic.

High school was over and Jiyeon didn’t feel the need to meet with the few girls she befriended in those years. It may sound cruel, but they were never the friends Jiyeon wanted in the first place. Nevertheless, Jiyeon liked being alone much better.

“Dad, I'm going out. We will meet in a club and then crash at Mimi’s place.” Jiyeon lied swiftly. She was dressed in some skinny jeans and a crop top with a button up checked shirt over it. She was smiling from ear to ear and as a response her father only waved at her and told her to have fun. Of course she would.

For two weeks of her summer holiday she was researching about places that gang members hang out. You may not believe, but it was possible to access such information. Jiyeon was aiming to find the people who kidnapped her and even thought she didn’t have a set reason to convince herself (even), she didn’t think over going to that place.

Jiyeon walked in to the club with confident steps. However, she didn’t dare to look around, went straight to the bar, and sat down in one of the tall chairs. She ordered a beer, which she didn’t really intend on drinking, and then started slowly checking people out. Everyone looked normal, she wouldn’t have guessed that the people who hang around here to be gang members. Then again the man who kidnapped her didn’t look like a gang member himself.

For her misfortune, she remembered his face perfectly. She couldn’t stop having nightmares ever since that day and he was the main role in them every night.

“You’re in the wrong club, missy.” A man sat down next to her and spoke. She turned her head and saw a man who had silver hair, exceptionally broad shoulders, and a quite handsome face.

Jiyeon raised an eyebrow at him. “Excuse me? You’re not the one to decide on that.” She said and faced the other way and continued checking out people. She heard him laugh and for a second she thought she might actually get herself in real trouble.

“Park Jiyeon-ssi, I advise you to leave this place sooner than later. I'm not the only person who knows who you are or shall I say who your father is.” The man said and Jiyeon faced him immediately. “Are you fearless or simply reckless or plainly stupid?” he smirked at her.

“H-how do you know him?” she mumbled, now avoiding his eyes. Howev
