"Six. Respect is earned."

Fridge Post-its

"Get up at four. New job awaits. — :)."

Changkyun couldn't believe his own eyes.

Given that he could see, he should; but he'd wished he'd gone back to continue his study. Not being awake, looking shabby in the middle of the night (as any medical student would and should be) and be greeted by the unruly sight of a human. And not just any random-looking hobo he'd rather see, but a clean, well-suited (literally) young man.

"What are you do—"

"So, I believed you stated in the bulletin board below about renting a room here?" the young man cleared his throat, sending Changkyun not only back to reality, but also earned himself wary glances from the owner.

Changkyun frowned. Something just clicked in his mind; the hastily-printed pamphlet might've still remained rotting for at least two weeks before someone—him—ended up noticing it and brought it just in front of his face, at immediate. He frowned deeper. He got the wrong crowd with him.

"Barely," Changkyun spat. "if it has to be you."

The man raised an eyebrow at him, his lips tightened into a firm line, but Changkyun noticed his squinting eyes and heightened cheekbones looked too unfamiliar for someone strange to him. And Changkyun's frown went deeper as his rosy cheeks went redder—the former swore he heard the guy snorted.

"You know, I can pay the rent now for one month, or help with the house a little bit," the brunette sighed, gently swiping his bangs. Claps of thunder roared loudly behind them, followed by the shearing loud winds of monsoon season. He shoved his hands to his baby blue jacket, pulling his suitcase closer. "but I really need a close place stay."

Had Changkyun lacked the empathy or the guy was a bad pity-monger, he'd shut his door. But his body is aching for some sleep and his pockets need the money. He looked back and saw the clock on the wall; almost one in the middle of the night. He'd been wasting his time here for twenty minutes.

"You can stay," Changkyun let his door wide open. "but we're talking about some terms and conditions, Kihyun."

—¢—

"Getting groceries. Will be back at seven. — Kihyun."

#1 Do not enter Changkyun's room, unless circumstances are life-threatening.

#2 Will always keep things clean in the dorm.

#3 Will not be stealing any food from the fridge.

#4 Will not even be stealing anything and pay rent at due time.

#5 If any of the rules are broken, punishment will be in due time.

Kihyun couldn't help but let a chuckle at the younger's antics. A blue paper was pasted at the fridge just big enough for Kihyun to see; that he also had no welcome there. Changkyun could hear them, but Kihyun particularly couldn't care less on what the younger boy thought of him.

"What's with the laughter?" Changkyun scooted closer to Kihyun, arms crossed.

"Well, I had thoughts that a potential med school freshmen would've had the maturity of a doctor," Kihyun chuckled. "but I guess not."

"Really?" Changkyun scoffed. "because if letting someone like you in doesn't require some mental health training and counseling, I don't know what would be helpful enough."

"If you say so," Kihyun shrugged, eating the remaining slice of his jam bread. "but anything relating to our blood ties are personally, not a part of my problem. There's nothing personal to it that you should care about."

"And not caring I am." The sound of the door being slammed echoed loudly through the room, but Kihyun didn't flinch. His eyes trailed on the almost empty dining room and kitchen next to it; he couldn't help but shook his head.

Chapter 2: okay first of all thanks for updating!! this is really great, i like how there's some of changkyun's history being revealed in here ;w; i'm guessing his parents died? had a fight? idk but damn this really caught my attention. anyway, it seems to me like kihyun's a tsundere type- his notes sound sweet but he's p rude to changkyun??

sorry for the long comment + hi fellow indonesian!!

Chapter 1: Okay but why the bad blood to Kihyun? This is somehow refreshing to read since Kihyun is usually written as the grumpy and more financially stable one but here he is finding Changkyun's antics amusing and is just chilling at the rules Kyun made.
