The Three

Darkness

Once again, I woke up to pouring rain. This time, I was covered in mud. I heard sirens and gunshots. I didn't know where to go. Covered in mud, I stood up and immediately felt the burning pain in my right leg. I dragged myself out of the mud and onto a patch of wet sidewalk. I hid behind a large white van and spotted planks of wood tied together with rope. It seemed like someone was transporting them somewhere. I shuffled over and grabbed two planks, placing them on either side of my right leg, and tying them together with the rope. I now had a makeshift splint. I grabbed a nearby tree branch and broke it at ideal walking stick length. I tried running with my new equipment and found it was a whole lot easier. I went back to my position behind the truck and scanned my surroundings. I saw a woman dressed in a skin tight black dress and black leather jacket. She was leading a group of people, all who looked about 20 years old. They were all handcuffed, and flanked on either side by men like the ones who had beaten me up in my home. I looked among the group and saw that unmistakeable brown hair and beautiful eyes. Tiffany! The group turned and disappeared into a large patch of tall grass. I waited until the coast was clear and dashed behind them. I was almost caught up to the tailing man in black, who had just exited the grass, when I was yanked back inside. I felt three people's hands on me, holding me back. “What do you think you're doing, going after a guard?” I heard a feminine voice whisper harshly into my ear. “I-” “Wait!” I heard another one, this one more boyish. The sirens had stopped. The sounds of ad vehicles had stopped, too. A woman’s voice came out loud and clear through the sky. “The commencement of the 12th Changing ceremony will start in 30 minutes.” the voice boomed. “We have half an hour to save those people” a third voice said. “Wait, those people I was chasing after? What's going on? What is all this? And who are you?” I whispered rapidly. “Calm down” the first voice said. “I'm Chaerin. This is Hyoyeon and Bambam. We are part of the Resistance” “What’s going on?” I asked, still confused. I explained to them that I had just woken up about an hour ago in this place and my girlfriend had been taken from me and was in that group of people. “Well we better start moving if you want to save your girlfriend. We’ll explain on the way there.” said Chaerin. They led me out of the bushes and back behind the white van again. Chaerin had long, flowing blonde hair and thick eyeliner on. She wore a leather jacket, olive green shirt, army pants and combat boots. She seemed to be the leader of the three. Hyoyeon wore the same army pants and combat boots, but wore a black shirt. She also had long, flowing blonde hair, but lacked the thick eyeliner. Instead, she had thick black lines under her eyes. She looked just as ready to fight as Chaerin. Bambam was a small boy, wearing the same army pants and combat boots as the other two. I guess it was a requirement of “the Resistance”. He wore a dirty white shirt and a small necklace with a Phoenix on it. I later found out it was a symbol he shared with his boyfriend, Jackson. Bambam had a cute face, and it looked like he had not fought a day in his life. His muscled arms and chest, however, proved that wasn't true. “Get in the car. We’ll explain on the way” said Chaerin, gesturing over to the small black car a tiny bit away. We ran to the car and got in, Chaerin driving, Hyoyeon next to her, and Bambam and I in the backseat. “We all used to live like normal. But then one day a woman named Ga In decided she wanted to take over the world. She developed a way of hypnotizing entire groups of people to do her bidding. Those are the men in black. They're called the Guards. Every few days once they're captured enough non hypnotized people, they have a Changing ceremony, where that group of people is hypnotized into following Ga In’s orders. Your girlfriend will be gone forever if we don't get her back in 20 minutes. The group that Ga In has started, they're called Them. There are only about a hundred people in the Resistance, and thousands have already been converted into Them. Their numbers just keep growing. But we will stop them. I assure you of it.” she finished explaining. “Showtime” Bambam said, grabbing a box of weapons from his side of the car as Chaerin pulled up to an old looking building.
