Oppa:  I’m outside, the usual spot

Me:  Ok, be out in a few

I grabbed my coat from the closet and quickly locked my door to my apartment.

As I got in the car I gave Oppa a smile thanking him for picking me up

“Where are we headed?” I asked

“Hyung Sanghyun is having a little get together with close friends to celebrate the launch of this new Photo book, let’s drop by and send our congratulations”

“okay, but I wished I would have known sooner as I’m only dressed in jeans and a t-shirt”

“You look beautiful no matter what you wear” he answer back looking at the road ahead

Oppa and I have been dating for almost a year now; we met at the University café which I work part time.  He was a regular there, studying and once in a while just hanging out with friends.  I always took notice of him, stole glances here and there which later developed into this crush.  Then one day as I was getting to leave for home after a shift I saw him standing outside.

“Hi”

“Hi” I reply back waiting for him to continue

“Uumm, well … I was wondering … Ummm … did you want to hang out sometime?  Maybe see a movie or something …?” he said while trying to avoid my eyes

“Like on a date?”

“Yah I guess so, a date…” he replied back with a smile, his smile was contagious

Of course I said yes and here we are 10 months together

We arrive at Sanghyun Oppa’s place; he lived in a nice quiet building in Gangnam.  His place was cozy and warm, an artist studio.  I always love coming here, and I too became great friends with Sanghyun Oppa.  He and Oppa have known each other since High School.  I think of Sanghyun Oppa as my own brother, since I only had two sisters.

We rang the bell to his place and we can hear the sound of music playing and people talking

The door opens and Sanghyun Oppa greeted us with a warm hug

“You guys made it, come in” he said as he looked at me his eyes twinkling

“Congratulations, Oppa” I say as I give him a hug

“Thank you Seungyon”

“Hyung, I’m so happy for you”

“Thank you guys, I wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for your support “

As we enter his place I saw some familiar faces and some new.  One of my closest friends Jihyun was talking to a few guys that didn’t look familiar.  As soon as she saw me she came running over

“Who are those handsome men you were talking to?” I asked teasing

“Oh they are Jungshin’s friend who also happens to know Sanghyun, what a coincidence right?”

I looked over once again at the group of guys she was talking to earlier, but Jihyun blocked my view and pulled me to the side to catch up as we have not seen each other in the last couple of weeks.  We moved to the table where there was food.  Gosh I was hungry, didn’t have time to eat as I was studying all day at the library and meals were the last thing on my mind.

As I was talking to Jihyun, I had this strange feeling that someone was watching me.  I look to my right, nope no one.  I then notice Oppa trying to get my attention

“Oppa is calling me over, wonder what he wants” I say to my friend

“K, I'm going to grab more food, make sure if I don’t see for the rest of the evening to at least say goodbye”

I walked over to them with a curious look

“Ahh Seungyeon, I wanted to introduce you to a very good friend of mine, we go back to child hood days”

“Oh this is the famous Lee Jonghyun I keep hearing about” Oppa says

Sanghyun Oppa nodded “Yes, Jonghyun, this is Park Minseong and this lovely lady is Yu Seongyeon” he introduced.

Oppa extended his hand to him and I gave a quick bow

As I looked up to see his face, I caught my breath.
