They are now in a big hall to watch National Piano Competition, Hyunsik became one of the participant. They came to cheer on him, they even brought a banner with Hyunsik’s photo on it and with words, “Fighting, our nerd, Im Hyunsik”, it’s obviously that made by Sooyoung who always call him nerd, Hyunsik’s parent and sister come too and sit in front of them, Hyunsik’s mother saw the banner and smile,

“Who make this?, it’s cute..,” she said, then Sooyoung tell her that she is the one who make this banner, “thank you, Sooyoung-ah,” she said then sit on her seat.

“His mother even said that it’s cute, why all of you complaining about it…, I try really hard to make it…,” Sooyoung complained to her friends because they said that this banner is too much,

“Just her who said that, the other said it’s too much, it’s embarrassing to hold it. If you like it and feel waste if we are not holding it, then hold it..you..by yourself,” Changsub said while giving the banner to her, but she doesn’t take the banner from him,

“How can I hold that big banner by myself. Okay, I’ll hold it, with your help, ” she said then tell Sungjae to move from his seat, so she can seat next to Changsub to hold the banner,

“Ah..seriously..,” Changsub look so frustrated and start to put hat on his head.

“Ckckck…,why are you behaving like this?, we supporting our friend, he’ll happy if he see this..,” she said proundly.

“Unni, will oppa be happy if someone called him nerd?,” Hyunsik sister who sit in front of her asked, “as I know, he really hate it, I ever called him like that once, and he hate it..”

“I called him by that all the time, and he never get angry to me tough…,” she said to her then smile.

Not long after that, the competition begin, when Hyunsik turn, suddenly Sooyoung stand up and hold up the banner, she forced Changsub to stand up with her, Changsub still wear his hat,

“Figthing..!,” she said that in a low voice because Hyunsik begin play the piano, Changsub tell her to sit back but she refused, when Hyunsik’s performance end, she suddenly shout out his name, “Hyunsik…Jjang!!,” her voice make Hyunsik who still standing on the stage noticed his family and his friends and of course the banner, suddenly he feel embarrassed over that banner, Sooyoung still claping her hand because she really feel touched by Hyunsik’s performance,

“Yah..sit down on your seat,” Sungjae said while trying to pull her hand, Seulgi help him, “yah, can’t you see that Hyunsik is embarrassing right now,” when heard that Sooyoung sit down. Not long after that, some people behind them realizing something, they say something about child artist, then say ‘Joy’ after that, Sooyoung heard that and turn her head to them and bowing while smiling to them,

“Is that fan service?,” Changsub asked.

“No, just being gratefull because someone still noticed me as a child artist. I don’t even know they are my fan or not, why called it fan service..,” she said, not long after that the person who recognized her suddenly want to take photo with her, “later, we’ll take photo later, okay?,” the person who asked her to take photo agreed and back to her seat,

“I think someday you’ll comeback as an actress,” Seulgi suddenly said that.

“I’m happy now…I don’t have any plan to comeback as an actress,” she said and focus again to the stage. After a brief break, the MC are ready to announce the winner of the competition this year, don’t know why Sooyoung really believe that Hyunsik is one of the winner even before the MC announce it,

“And, the first winner for this year National Piano Competition is Im Hyunsik, congratulation,” after heard that, Hyunsik’s mom and Sooyoung jumpun happily while the other just frozen, they couldn’t believe that Hyunsik grab the first, Sooyoung still jumping happily while shaking her friends body that frozen,

“Yah, you don’t heard that?, Hyunsik became the first winner for this year competition, ” after heard that once again, they start claping hands and give Hyunsik standing ovation. Starting from that day, his mother held party for celebrate her son’s victory, today is the third day,

“Mom, don’t spend money like that…,” Hyunsik said when he heard that his mother planning to do it until a week, “today is the last day of the party,” his mother did this because it’s the first time in her family to receive such a honour, became a national winner of piano competition,

“Tomorrow will be the last day, mom promise to you..mom really happy because of you,” she said while touching his check. His friends is there too with Hyunsik’s big family to celebrate the third party, they smile while looking at Hyunsik annoyed face,

“Don’t be too angry, she does it for you..just enjoy the party,” Sungjae said when Hyunsik sit next to him, then smile to him, Hyunsik looking at the banner that patched by his mother on the wall and sigh, then he looking at Sooyoung who is busy eating,

“Yah..bring that banner when you go home, ” he said then drink his water.

“As I said before, your mom want it..so I won’t bring that back if not your mom who ask me,” after heard her answer Hyunsik look hopeless,

“Ahh..up to you then. Where is Seulgi?,” he asked, “it’s summer holiday, don’t tell me she is still studying?,” he said. Hmm, that’s her, since elementary school she always like that, studying eventhough she in the middle of holiday, but seem today studying not the reason she is not here,

“She just go home because her dad called her. She said her dad want her to meet someone,” Sooyoung answered with mouth full of foods.

“Yah..eat properly,” Changsub said while push her head. The party end at 8 o’clock, when they are about to leave, Sooyoung is the only one who goes to the different direction,

“Are you okay, go home by yourself?,” Sungjae asked, yesterday and a two days before she always go home with Seulgi’s car,

“Aigoo, don’t be that worried to me, make me touched. I’m okay, there is no one who brave enough to mess up with me, I’ll finish them in one punch,” she said so overacting.

“Don’t said those things so easy, if that really happen to you, what will you do?,” Changsub said, it’s clearly that it make her afraid, but she denied it, “let’s go home, thank you for the food, bye,” she said to Hyunsik and leave them first, when Chnagsub and Sungjae leave him, Hyunsik runs to Sooyoung direction and accompany her,

“The lamp in that park is broken, so little bit dark, I’ll accompany you till your home,” he suddenly said that.

“Hmm?, it’s okay, I can go home by myself.”

“Don’t try too hard to hide that fear, or..you can go home by bus, and I’ll bring back this bike to my house..,” he said, the park’s lamp really broken, so it little bit dark when they walking pass the park,

“It’s okay, I’ll go home by myself,” she said that so Hyunsik back to his house but Hyunsik still there, “ahh..okay, I’ll go home by bus, you take this to your house, I’ll take that back tomorrow,” she give up because Hyunsik still following her, and nagging to her, “ja, go..I just have to wait the bus to come, you can go,” she said after they arrived at bus stop, she give her bike to Hyunsik.

“I’ll go after the bus come,” here he go again, what’s wrong with him, after nagging at her because of that huge banner, but then he said it’s okay to put that banner there…he said like that,

“Yah…what’s wrong with you?, you are really weird, ” she observing Hyunsik’s face.

“What?, why?,” he asked back while pushing her head, not long after that, “your bus come..,” he said, then she get up, still suspicious by his weird behavior, “be careful on your way..I’ll go to your house tomorrow and bring your bike,” after heard that,

“Yah..you really weird today, I’m the one who’ll come to your house tomorrow, bye..,” she said while walking to the bus, and still waving when she is already in the bus, Hyunsik smiling while the bus leave.

Hyunsik POV:

Every morning before starting our activities, this family always noisy. I life with my parent, sister, and grandmother, just five of us, but it always noisy since I just open my eyes. Father’s voice that asking mom to make coffee for him, grandmother’s voice that nagging to her son to get the newspaper and milk, mom voice from kitchen that keep screaming because her son and daughter still sleep tightly,

“Why this house always noisy in this early morning?,” my sister with her sleepy voice, make the noisy get worse, I decided to get up but not to join them, I want to get a fresh air before starting today activities. I come out from room wearing training,

“I’m going to jogging in the park near here,” I said while taking my shoes,

“Hyunsik-ah,, after breakfast come to that place, dad already bought it yesterday, we’ll renovate that place to became a small karaoke room,” he said.

“Okay,” my family decided to open karaoke bussines, because they really like singing, everytime there is family gathering, the singing contest never left behind. My money from piano competition’s price and dad added some money, we bought that place so mom won’t be protested again because she doesn’t have nothing to do except cooking or cleaning the house. And, I bet I’m really lucky, I like piano from elementary school, but didn’t get chance to practice it because my family was not that well-of, then the chance come two year ago, this year is my first time to join in that kind of competition, and I get the first place in national piano competition, it’s unexpected, just yesterday, I got a call from a manager of an orchestra group that they want to recruite me as their member to play the piano, I just discussed with my parent, and they say ‘yes’.

After breakfast, mom rushingly go to that place, I was the one who choosed this place because in the future, this place not just a place for my family to earning money, but a camp for my friends too, this place is really strategic, not far from our house. we arrived in front of that small building, I take a photo of it end send it to the group chat, just 10 seconds I sent that photo, their response is explosive,

 

Changsub : what?, is this that place?

Sooyoung : what place?, explain to me, the three of you

Always leave me and Seulgi, yah Mr. Fussy and leader-nim…

You know about this, right?, Seulgi-yah…they leave us like that

Seulgi : Why?, what’s wrong?,

Sungjae : Hyunsik’s family bought a building, they’ll open a family karaoke,

And he said that place also can be our camp, permanent camp.

Seulgi : Wah..daebak..you are a businessman right now, Hyunsik-ah…

Sooyoung : Really?, wah, we can decorate the room?

Changsub : the boys will be decorate it, the girls step back….

Hyunsik : renovation will be start tomorrow, if it’s finished, I’’ll contact all of you..

They said it’ll take a month to finished it…

All : OK,

Sooyoung : Nerdy-nim, congratulation..hahaha…you became a young businessman..

 

Nerdy-nim?, don’t know why I never get angry whenever she call me by that…

Sungjae : How about the offer from the orchestra?

Seulgi : What orchestra?

Sooyoung : Wah..the three of you hiding too many secret from us,

Why me and Seulgi always left out..?

Changsub : Then move to our school…you’ll know everything..

Hyunsik : Sorry..I’m not purposely hiding it from both of you..

I received their offer, we’ll start practice next week

Changsub : wah….congratulation..treat us then

Sooyoung : If you feel sorry to me and Seulgi, treat us something expensive..

Seulgi : call..!!

 

Wah..as always, they are so noisy, I think I’ll get bankrupt after this..meat??, what’s the next, I think meat won’t be enough for them. I’m walking around the building, is not that big, but it’s enough to open a family karaoke,

“How?, is it really what you want?,” my mom asked, I’m nodding, “then, I’ll contact them to start renovation,” she said then take out her phone.

He start practicing as one of an orchestra member, first time seeing this, he is so amazed,

“Since when did you playing piano,” his senior asked.

“I have interest in piano since little, but our family couldn’t effort it..just 2 years ago when my family can effort to enrolling me to the school of music, I come to practice routine..,” he said to his seniors, then they clapping,

“Then you are really good at playing piano..,” the other senior praised him.

His phone rang, someone sending text in the group messenger..

Sooyoung : Today dinner is meat…Mr. Nerd, where are you??

“Ah..this girl,” he said in lower voice, “then I’ll leave first, see you tomorrow,” he said then bowed to his seniors.

Seulgi : Let’s go…Hyunsik-ah..

Changsub : Really..?, let’s go..

Sungjae : In which restaurant we will have dinner?

Hyunsik : Let’s go, steak house..

All : Yeah….assaaa…

They meet at steak house, the one who arrived first is Sooyoung who all smile when she saw Hyunsik come,

“Where are the other?,” he asked, “you naver late in time like this..,” he said make her laugh.

“They’ll come, let’s order first,” she said, then Hyunsik call the waitress. Not long after that, the five of them already come..

“Yah..as expected, when it come to food, you’ll never late,” Changsub saying while sit next to her, “Sungjae said after this he have another schedule, so he won’t be long here..”

“Where are you going?, we just arrive,” Seulgi asked.

“He is really busy right now, next week there is a competition in our school, sport competition. There is swimming, football, basketball, and etc. in swimming competition, the first winner will get a camera, camera that he really want to buy, so he participate in that competition,” Changsub explained to them.

“Just ask your parents to buy it for you, why forced yourself to participate in swimming competition when you are not that good at swimming,” Sooyoung mocking at him.

“My mom said that she’ll buy it when I’m graduate from high school, I’m still in second grade now, so it’ll take long time. Since there is opportunity, I’ll take that and try it. I know that I’m not that good at swimming, so I practice that everyday, so wish me luck,” he said then eat his steak.

“Why you never get angry whenever I’m mocking you, not like him,” she said while point at Changsub, then Changsub tried to bite her finger,

“We can watch your performance, right?,” Seulgi asked, “it’s not only for your school, right?.”

“Hmm, you can watch it. This year is the first year my school hold that kind of competition in summer holiday, and it open for the other students from the other school,” he said, Seulgi nodding.

“You want to watch it, Seulgi-yah?,” Sooyoung asked, “I never watch swimming competition, is it fun?, ” Sooyoung asked.

“Just watch it, you’ll know if it’s fun or not,” Changsub said.

“Do you have some feeling toward her?,” Sungjae suddenly asked. He and Hyunsik goes to swimming pool together, Hyunsik look confused with his question, “that night I saw you accompany her until the bus stop.”

“Ah, Sooyoung-ie?, was that weird if I accompany her?, it’s just the lamp in that park was broken, so I thought I should accompany her until the bus stop. You know that she like pretending to be fine when she is not.., that day. She is pretending not afraid of those things, but actually she was afraid to go home by herself that night. How did you know that I accompany her until bus stop?, didn’t you already go home with Changsub?,” he asked him.

“Ah..my mom suddenly call me that she want me to buy something delicious for her, so I’m looking for food for her to eat,” he said then back to practice.

“Isn't it you, who have that kind of feeling toward her?,” he asked in such a low voice, no one could hear that.
