"Hyung, turn up the thermostat, its freezing."

Onew stood up from the chair he was seated on and walked over to the wall and turned up the thermostat by a few degrees. Taemin nodded, satisfied. Then Onew went back to reading his book.

_{seconds later.}

"Hyung, turn down the thermostat, it's too hot."

Onew grumbled and got up again to turn down the thermostat. Then with sluggish movements, he flopped back onto the couch.

_{seconds later.}

"Hyung, turn up the thermostat it's too-"

"Taemin. Turn it up yourself, I'm busy!" Onew shot Taemin a annoyed glare and went back to his book.

Taemin pouted and folded his arms. It was a chilly winter day and Shinee was stuck in their dorms with a free schedule. Key was cooking lunch and Minho and Jonghyun were playing snakes and ladders in the bedroom.

Taemin glanced around the bare living room, there was hardly any furniture but there was a huge mess of boxes, colourful containers and other stuff next to the dining table. "Presents from fans." He presumed.

His gaze suddenly fell onto a stack of papers held together by flimsy string and staples on the dining table. He got up and went over for a closer look.

Jonghyun's home-made calender. Taemin shook his head.

He looked at the badly drawn sun and flowers and chuckled, flipping through the pages to reveal similar badly drawn designs. He looked through the checked off boxes in the December column and realised today was December 13.

"12 more days to Christmas." He whispered, a foolish smile plastered on his adorable face.

It was silly and his hyungs always about it, but 18 year old Lee Taemin, still whole heartedly believed in the existence of Santa Claus. After all, who else has been the ones giving them gifts every year? No one else had access to the dorm, besides the manager hyung. But he cared too much about his stuffed bunny to bother buying any of them a present and his hyungs didn't really believe in gift exchanging.

But every year without fail, on Christmas morning, there would be a neatly wrapped present sitting on his bedside table. It was always signed off as,

From Santa,

Merry Christmas, Taemin^^

The rest of his hyungs were blessed with the same fate too. Well, except Onew. He NEVER got any presents.

"Maybe it's cause he's such a meany!" The thermostat incident replayed in his mind.

But the question puzzled him. "Why didn't some people get presents again?" He tapped his chin and sat on the floor.

"Remember Taeminnie my son, Santa only gives presents to good children. Don't end up on his naughty list, or you'll have nothing but coal in your sock on Christmas morning!"

A light bulb lit up above him. Of course! Onew was in the NAUGHTY LIST! No wonder he never got any presents from Santa! Just then, Onew coincidentally passed Taemin on his way to his bedroom. The maknae grabbed his hyung's wrist and pulled him down onto the cold, hard floor.

"OW! Minnie that hurt!" Onew whined.

Taemin clicked his tongue and shook his head. "Hyung hyung hyung. Be grateful for what I'm about to do! I'm gonna make sure you have an actual PRESENT to wake up to on Christmas morning! Not just coal in your socks."

"But I don't have coal in my-"

"I'm going to make sure, for the next 12 days, you will do as MANY good deeds as you possibly can. Then hopefully you'll make it into Santa's good kid list by Christmas!" Taemin clapped his hands at the thought of his genius plan.

"But..."

"Let's go to the supermarket!" Taemin grabbed Onew's hand and pulled him out of the door, into the chilly afternoon.
