jeon jungkook’s not a people person. he preferred quiet places that are minimally populated. he preferred tuning out the rest of the world with his ipod and a good book. he preferred quiet mornings alone at the school’s oval whenever he would go on his morning run. he preferred the silence in the library while he diligently studies his law readings and boy there’s a lot of them, even for a freshman. he preferred staying in on friday nights, cooped up in his dorm equipped with a good movie, some snacks, and a warm blanket.

while others craved for socialization, jungkook reveled in isolation.

enter park jimin, a 3rd year political science major and your all-around social butterfly. jimin loved to be around other people and people loved him in return. jimin wasn’t your typical popular kid who decided where the cool table at lunch was. no, people loved park jimin because he was really your all-around social butterfly. he always looked forward to meeting new people and had no regard whatsoever for social status. jimin was everyone’s friend. jimin was at every party. heck, it wouldn’t even be a party if he wasn’t there.

jungkook has never met jimin. he only knows of jimin. they share a political governance class together.

it was during one of their usual classes when jimin suddenly taps jungkook on the shoulder. the younger one almost jumps off his seat at the sudden contact, causing the older boy to chuckle a bit.

“hi! you’re jeon jungkook, right? i’m jimin!” jimin says with a voice that sounds of blooming sunflowers and clear skies. it takes jungkook a few seconds to realize that he’s staring.

“oh— uh. yeah. nice to meet you.” he stammers, shaking the hand jimin extended towards him.

“listen, there’s a party tonight and literally everyone’s invited. and i saw that you didn’t have a flyer yet so i came here to give you one! you should come!” jimin says, waving the piece of colored paper in front of jungkook’s face. jungkook takes the flyer and examines it.

“well, i gotta go now. see you later, jungkookie!” jimin winks at the younger, causing him to blush.

well, the place is near my dorm. i guess it wouldn’t hurt to go, jungkook thinks, folding and shoving the flyer into his pocket.

after his classes, jungkook walks back to his dorm to rest up for a bit. he’s barely managed to crash on his bed when there’s an unmistakable knock on the door.

“jungkook-ah! let me iiiiiin~” his bestfriend (and the only person who’s ever been in jungkook’s room), taehyung, calls out from outside. jungkook groans as he pushes himself off his precious precious bed and lazily makes his way to open the door.
