It was winter and the harsh weather was taking its toll on the village of Sumgyeojin and its people. The people knew that on the mountain that was overseeing their village resides a wandering god. They knew that in order to gain favor from the god a sacrifice of a beautiful maiden should be made, and thus they sent the only person deemed to be beautiful in their eyes. The 16 years old Junmyeon, with black ebony hair, pale white skin and beautiful innocent eyes. The only downside was Junmyeon is a boy.

On the day after the decision was made, Junmyeon climbed and proceeded to the shrine of the god. There he came face to face with the being. The god looked at him and bellowed, “CHANGE! I asked for a beautiful girl. A dirty kid like you should go home. I didn’t call for you!” But Junmyeon stood ground, “I can’t go back.” “Go back. Send a girl!” the god repeated. But Junmyeon was persistent, “There are no more women in the village. That’s why I came. Because a wandering god like yourself came down here. The village people wanted to give a sacrifice and I was chosen.” Tears were threatening to fall from the boy’s eyes, “Please, have mercy.” Junmyeon pleaded. The god huffed as he was looking at the boy. When wandering gods existed, in order to enrich the land of Sumgyeojin. The one who came into this small village between the mountains was a very, VERY big dragon. Well, that’s the kind of story this one is.

The dragon narrowed its eyes on the boy, waived its right paw comically, “That doesn’t make sense! What do you mean there are no girls? Then who accompanies the men in your village?” Junmyeon looked at the ground with hands balled into fists, “It was me. I can’t bear children. I’m sure that the village will fall soon. Even if we have farmland, if there are no workers, it can’t be helped.” The dragon gave a pointed look at the boy, stood up and went near to him, “I understand.” Junmyeon looked at the dragon with surprise and the dragon saw Junmyeon’s full features and thought, “Poor child but oh… what beautiful eyes.” “Would… would you like me to take off my clothes?” This snapped the dragon from his trance, “Hn? For what?” Junmyeon was fidgeting and started blabbering which made the dragon think that he was cold, “It must be cold. Go inside the shrine.” But Junmyeon still continued to fidget and blabber snapping the already thin patience of the dragon, “What is it?!” With a small voice Junmyeon said, “Aren’t… aren’t you going to eat me now?” The dragon looked at him, smirked, which made Junmyeon shiver. Opened its wide mouth, bit him by the scruff of his hanbok and threw Junmyeon inside of the warm shrine which was coincidently filled with fluffy cushions.  The boy gave a puzzled look while the dragon fitted its head on the small opening of the shrine, “I won’t eat you. I just wanted someone to talk to.” And with a look of an eager five year old the dragon asked the boy,” What’s your name?” With a faint blush decorating his pale cheeks he answered, “Jun… Junmyeon.” And like that of a child who was given his favorite candy, the dragon repeated Junmyeon’s name with a sickening “cuteness” vibe {Just imagine folks a fierce dragon who suddenly changed into a chibi style dragon}. “Then first Junmyeon, Tell me… how long it’s been snowing?” And so their life together started. {Oh! The name of the dragon was Yifan. He was so distracted on making a conversation with Junmyeon that the idiot of a god forgot to introduce himself. And now back to the story….}

Spring came and both Junmyeon and Yifan had a great time together. While Yifan  take naps {Most of the time he naps. He is considered a lazy god}, Junmyeon would go down to catch fish on a nearby river and Yifan would always welcome him with a smile {just imagine a dragon smiling…. Creepy right?}. Junmyeon would animatedly tell Yifan on how he caught a particularly big fish and the dragon would always listen and would always react on a certain way that the boy would smile at him in the sweetest way. In the circle of life, everything repeats. The days, the months, even the meals. As for why wandering gods exist, well…. You guys would have to read this story until the end! {insert EVIL GRIN from le author}Their wanderings on the mountains turn to discoveries which delighted Junmyeon’s young heart.         

On a particular day, they discovered a hidden cool spring just at the outskirts of the shrine. Both decided to take a rest while dipping, as for Junmyeon his feet and for Yifan his tail, in the spring. Junmyeon sat at the ledge while Yifan would lie down on his belly and let Junmyeon’s back rest on his flanks and snuggle at him as much as possible. Like most days, Yifan would stare at Junmyeon’s profile (a habit he picked up) and like most of the time Junmyeon would catch him staring which would make the dragon’s heart race and make Junmyeon giggle.

Yifan: So dangerous. I’m completely under his control!

Junmyeon: Maybe it’s because I came thinking I’d be eaten, but spending everyday like this is so fun.

“This is completely different from when I was back in the village, Yifan – hananim…. Hananim?” Junmyeon glanced at the dragon who was looking up at the skies. “Hm?” “I pray the people back in the village can be happy as well.” Yifan looked back at him “Yes, I guess.”

Yifan: I thought he was just a dirty brat, but if he’s like this, I can’t keep my eyes off him.

The dragon had the power to “see”, so when Junmyeon was off to get firewood, he would secretly watch him {tsk. What a ert dragon}. Junmyeon was happily walking his way back to Yifan, when he was suddenly cornered by 3 of the village men. One grabbed Junmyeon by the arm causing for him to drop the firewood.

Yifan: Hm?

Junmyeon tried to fight off but another grabbed his shoulder.

Yifan: Hm? (Standing up from his napping place, angry veins starting to buldge on his head)
