Description

Seventeen year old Lee Eunmi knew that her death sentence just got a whole lot more painful when she had been selected to participate in the annual televised death match Battle of the Monsters.

Foreword

A new breed of humans has been discovered.

Some call them superiors to the human race. Others call them mutants.

Appearance-wise, they do not differ much from a normal human being. However, they do possess superhuman abilities; some of which includes the ability to fly, teleport, heal and even the ability to control the elements.

Having powers should be a blessing, right? Well, not in this world.

To ensure the safety of the humans, laws has been placed forth for both species to co-exist in peace. Thanks to these laws, you’re life is basically screwed the moment you are born a mutant.

The two things mutants are most afraid of:

One, YG - an organisation created to eliminate mutants deemed dangerous by the humans. It is said that any reported mutants will be executed in less than a day, and the chances of a mutant escaping once targetted: zero.

Two, the annual Battle of the Monsters - a televised death match where selected mutants are forced to participate. Three teams of thirteen mutants enter, but only the surviving members of the last group standing goes home. Nobody knows how the mutants are selected, but it is rumoured that young mutants are either payed or blackmailed by the three groups: SM, Pledis and Bighit.

Thus, while the mutant population continues to multiply over the 22nd century, most mutants keep their identities a secret, trying their best to blend in with the human population.

My name is Lee Eunmi.

I am a mutant.

And due to certain regrettable reasons, I am one of the thirteen selected mutants representing Team SM for the 100th Battle.
