Description
Reaching his breaking point in a job erasing people's unhappy memories forever, and trying to cope with his childhood friend's looming nuptials, Eunhyuk doesn't think his week could possibly get any worse. Enter Lee Donghae - melancholic, spacey, and eager to remove seemingly trivial memories from his brain. Eunhyuk isn't looking for a friend - or anyone really - and he doesn't think that he'd care the least about someone out to give themselves brain damage. But what starts out as a routine journey through Donghae's memories goes awry for everyone involved when Eunhyuk finds out why Donghae wants them gone - and when Donghae has second thoughts about deleting his memories of the past, and of Eunhyuk, forever.
Foreword
So, I decided to join the Tender Rose Writing Competition held by my friend Korekrypta. I chose the theme Exodus, and this will be for the Long Haul category. You can find more information about the contest by clicking the banner here:
I really wanted to join the contest but I was stumped for an idea for months and then one day I happened to be watching D&E's Growing Pains MV and noticed a comment about how it was meant to be a reference to the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind plot about erasing memories (and I love that movie!), and one thing led to another and I really like Eunhae's friendship and this story happened. The science mentioned in the story is a combination of real facts and science-fiction; I am not a neurosurgeon nor do I work in any medical field related to the brain, so if you do and you happen to read this fic, please forgive any inaccuracies and fictional representations of the science I have mentioned.
Please note that Eunhyuk and Donghae are not a couple in the story, and I stress the word friendship. There will be reference to some idol x idol pairings but they are not the focus of the story and I simply used them because I didn't want to have to create OCs to use for these minor roles. So please enjoy this Eunhyuk and Donghae centered AU storyline with supporting characters of Zhou Mi and Kyuhyun, along with other celebrity cameos!
