"Kyeongeun?"

Someone was calling me.

"Kyeongeun, is that you?"

The light blinded eyes that had not seen day. When I finally adjusted, I could see a young man standing bent over a ditch, reaching out to me.

"Take my hand," he said, extending it further. Hesitantly, I did, watching as he pulled me out into the blinding light.

"Are you alright?" he asked, eyeing me with concern. The young man breathed heavily, sweat drenching wind-tousled hair. It dripped all the way down his back, clinging onto skin. What had he been doing?

I nodded nonchalantly and looked around to find us in the middle of a vast forest. There were no signs of civilization for miles.

"Are you hurt anywhere?" he asked, lifting up my arms and scanning my body for any injuries. I shrugged off his hands, uncomfortable with his touch. Not because it was harsh, but rather because it was unfamiliar.

"I'm alright...but may I ask, who are you?" I said, watching his expression change from worry to shock. He immediately dropped his hands to his side, taking a step back to give me some space.

"Do you really not remember me?" he asked, disbelief clouding his eyes. I shook my head.

"Then do you remember anything before you ended up in that ditch?" he gestured toward the hole in the ground.

"The last thing I remember is...leaving Beijing. I don't know for what, but my parents were sending me off from the airport," I said, recalling bits and fragments from my past. The young man paused slightly, weighing his options. He suddenly grabbed my hand.

"My name is Jungkook. We can't let anyone see you," he said, leading me through the maze of a forest.
