I wish he saw the same.

I wish he saw the same.
Angst | AU | Sehun Luhan|

For the sake of his paper that's due the next day, Luhan has been pulling all nighters the whole week now. His eyes felt heavy and his brain was starting to drift off into the abyss. He was determined to finish the paper no matter what it takes, so he stood up and went into his kitchen to pour his fourth cup of coffee, for he needed some caffeine to keep himself up. The paper he's been working on bears a huge weight on his final grade, in which he definitely should take seriously if he still wants to maintain his scholarship. He was on his way back to his desk when he noticed his phone light up.

Sehun
Let's meet.

Luhan thought that Sehun just needed to ask him about the paper. From the years that they've known each other, Sehun's messages were always about questions regarding homeworks and projects.

Sehun
Please.

Luhan cradled his head on his palms, in deep thought whether to put his paper on hold for a while and meet Sehun, or ignore Sehun because the younger only asks for them to meet up for school works.

Sehun
Luhan hyung, please.

Luhan doesn't know the reason why he unconsciously stood up, wore his jacket and head towards the door. It might have been Sehun calling him 'hyung'--Luhan's older but they're classmates so Sehun doesn't feel the need to address him as 'hyung'--or him saying 'please' twice.

It was a chilly spring night and Luhan was starting to regret his decision. He was in the safe confines of his warm room and now, he's waiting for something that he's entirely sure would not end well. He pulled the hood of his padded jacket closer to his face and put his hands on his pocket.

"Luhan hyung," Sehun called out as he was walking towards where Luhan was standing.
He waved his hand for Sehun to recognize him.
Sehun grabbed Luhan's hand and led him towards the playground. "Let's sit on the swings, hyung."
They each took their seats; their legs swaying a bit with the wind.

"I know you're busy Luhan hyung, but I need someone to talk to."
Luhan stopped swaying and faced the younger.
"I've been wanting to confess to Jongin for a while now, but I'm afraid. You know he's handsome and talented. I've heard he has a suitor from every class, especially the singer who he's been always seen with."
Sehun looked up at the night sky, and Luhan did the same.
"I'm not attractive, nor am I talented. Hell, I even don't do well in class. I'm no good."
For the first time in a long time, Luhan stared at the sky above him, appreciating the stars that decorate the vastness.
"I'm fighting this battle alone. I'll lose this fight."
Luhan looked back to the man beside him, and the way the moonlight illuminates his face made him beautiful--more beautiful than the sky, or anything in this world.

When I looked at him, I saw beautiful things-

"I don't know what to say, Sehun. I'm not really the best person who can give you an advice. But I've seen you two together and Jongin looks like he's enjoying your company."

"What if he doesn't like me?"

"What if he does?"

Sehun stood up and inched his way towards Luhan.  "Thank you for always being here from me, Luhan hyung."

"Goodbye, Sehun." Luhan stood up and started to trudge towards the street, without waiting for Sehun to catch up with him.

-and I just couldn't help but wish that when he looked at me, he saw the same.

Chapter 3: Short, simple, but full of sadness. I wish it could be a little longer. Or maybe there's a sequel to it?? But if there isn't, it's okay. I'm..fine :')

Chapter 1: This is simple but I love it. You didn't tell us that Luhan had a thing for Sehun yet these words: "When I looked at him, I saw beautiful things-" "-and I just couldn't help but wish that when he looked at me, he saw the same" tell us all that we need to know about Luhan's feelings. I feel sad for Luhan when I read the last part of this story, though. Keep on writing, dear. I'm sure you will get better :)
