Description
He was just a farm boy, lived in a period of time where people were still ruled by their status of nobility. Knowledge of words, reading and writing, numbers and accounting, were privileges of those who were born in the higher rank. Low rank people like him should only learn how to farm and to take care of their livestock.
But he was just a young curious boy by nature, a trait which had gotten him into troubles more often than not. So when one day a man from faraway land offered him the chance to learn about literature, accounting, politics, and all the things lower-rank people like him were not allowed to, there were no reasons for him to not accept it.
Because he believed... and he dreamed... that the world, could be a better place.
Foreword
“A petition?”
“Yes, my Lord.”
He got silent for a moment, for this was something not unheard before but surely uncommon. The petition usually was made by the land owner, high-rank people who had privileged in their life to learn about politics, not just a mere low-rank farmer.
“Bring him inside”
He had expected to meet an old greedy noble in exile, who still hadn’t accustomed to his new life being a farmer. But the sight in front of him had rendered him speechless.
Instead of an old greedy noble, he met with a young farmer with bright smart-looking eyes. A young man, who carried himself with an air of confidence despite being the lowest rank among them all who were present in his manor. And when he spoke, soft and polite but still clear with his intention, he knew instantly that the young man in front of him wasn’t someone who could be taken lightly.
“What is your name?”
His question stopped the young man from leaving, making him turned around and bowed politely.
“Cho Kyuhyun, my Lord.”
“Inform Sir Lee Hyukjae of the place where you came from. I would like to have a proper talk regarding your petition. Expect an invitation to come in a couple of days or weeks.”
“Yes My Lord, thank you for your kindness. May God will always be with you.”
As he watched young farmer walked away, deep inside his heart, Choi Siwon had no doubt that their next meeting would be exciting.
a/n: A wonkyu story set in Medieval AU. (or kind of Medieval AU) I dont really understand the history of medieval era. But I really love that setting and I really want to see wonkyu there /sobs/. So actually this story isnt taking place in England or something, so don't compare it to the nobility in real life, or in real history. Because I can't understand the different between my lord and your highness, Duke of xxx and Lord xxx, and there's the earl, duchess..umf I'm getting confused.
Please dont' expect any update soon enough, while this story was already starting to develop in my head, I really had problems on how to write in this kind of AU. Even with my so little knowledge about this, I want to make it as Middle Ages AU as possible. So I need to read more and search more. Please just tel me if you have criticism, or advices to improve my writing. And also, if you have any reccomendation what should I read in order to understand more about middle ages era, please tell me.
